I joined my company's version of biggest loser hoping I could shed some pounds before my Birthday in June. So for now, I'm avoiding sweets, soda, rice and red meat. Well as much a I can that is.

The other day, I was in Festival Mall and thought of eating at Goldilocks. With my diet in place, I settled with Lumpiang Sariwa and Ginisang Monggo. Both were good actually. The lumpia's veggies were fresh like always and their ginisang monggo was flavorful. Enough for me to be full and halt my cravings to eat more.

I guess I have to frequent a Goldilocks branch more often because of this diet thing. 128517

You know how it has become a staple to have monggo on Friday? I do not know why or how it started but it just the way it is. That is why when one Thursday, when I decided to have monggo and fish, I actually thought that it is Friday already. Bizarre mind trick! 128514

Goldilocks has become my go to place whenever I am craving for Filipino food. Aside from their killer bopis, they also have a delicious monggo on their menu. Plus, it is affordable too and most importantly clean.

Goldilocks has this system where you can order and you will get a number. After which you can proceed directly to the counter to pay and get your food, it was efficient but sometimes people tend to hold the line because they wait for their food while in line instead of going directly to the cashier.

Anyway, I had the Healthy Meal. Monggo, Fish, Dessert and Bottled Water. It was satisfying! Feel good meal when you miss home cooked meals.

Will definitely be back! So many choices to choose from their menu. 128076🏻

I was craving for lumpiang sariwa and one of the places that I know that offers this is Goldilocks. I tried their set meal which includes a small lumpiang sariwa, pork barbecue, plain rice and ube nata thirst quencher. The meal was really affordable for the price of only P89. But, I think the serving size was quite small. Maybe because the price is cheap.

Anyways, the food was okay especially the ube nata.

In our younger years, we always celebrated special occasions in two ways - an ice cream from Magnolia and a cake from Goldilocks. And that's how it was for more than 15 years of our youth, until Red Ribbon came. Red Ribbon was "different" and that giving a Red Ribbon cake was special those days - their "Black Forest" is always the top choice during gatherings.

Sugarhouse, Conti's, Estrels and other bake shops started coming out with their own favorites, grabbing a piece of the pie that Goldilocks once owned. Until around two to three years ago when a relative gave us a Goldilocks cake for pasalubong. We didn't know at first that it was from Goldilocks as it was immediately served. At first bite, we asked immediately kung sino ang nag-bake ng cake - thinking it was home made as Espie is also into baking. We were told that it was from Goldilocks! The cake was soft and moist - unlike their original cakes that were quite dry. That's when we knew Goldilocks has made a grand comeback.

We started to buy Goldilocks cakes and rolls for pasalubong again and for our own consumption (Brazo, Krema de Fruta, polvoron and egg pie are our favorites). A lot has indeed improved - we even buy siopao from Goldilocks na, instead of getting it from Chinese fastfoods.

Anyway, today is the second time this month that we got a whole Brazo de Mercedes roll (@ P285) - and we enjoyed each roll so much, parang kulang ang isang roll sa amin sa bahay :-) I'm sure we'll visit Goldilocks again very soon!

Like us common people in the Philippines, cakes is a must have on every occasion but always take a look for the icing you might want to consider a few spoons than eating the slice "sharing is always a must" :)
