This is the first time we went here, and it was for a PT session. Compared to Gold's Gym Alabang, the Katipunan gym has less space and the equipment are cramped. Only one treadmill is out of order and the cardio equipment look new and has a lot of machines that I haven't seen before. Plus our PT was very nice during our session. 128522

One Saturday, I had a meeting near this branch so I grabbed the opportunity to try their gym equipments and I think it was okay.

I'm baaaaaaack., i officially have my social life back. I finally have time to do things now since we're just waiting for graduation. 127891128522

So i decided to go to the gym with my dad since I really want to be fitter.... well i'm trying.

Anyway this is smaller compared to the one in Libis which has two or three floors.

Most of the people who come here are either students or stay at home mom's.

The equipment is great, they're clean and they're all working.

Anyway the staff was friendly, one guy was even nice enough to help me when he noticed i was having a hard time figuring out how to work one of the machines.128517

I plan to get a membership for 3 months and i'll see how it will work out128522

Worst gym experience ever. Why Gold's why? And why members why do we agree to pay for this place.

I've tried the Gold's in Hemady Avenue, New Manila and that place, while small, is clean, has decent bathrooms, and airconditioning.

I arrived at Gold's Katipunan hoping that the lack of airconditioning three weeks ago was a fluke. But noooo, I was greeted with a blast of hot, sweaty air when the elevator doors opened. There are some air conditioning units working but they are not enough to cool the place. Im okay with working out in hot environments as long as it's outdoors. Indoors with no air and ventilation is awful. Baka naman I'm maarte but poor unfit me cannot last more than 30 minutes walking slowly on the treadmill without air!!! They should rename the place Bikram Gold's Gym. 128545128545128545 at least full disclosure diba.

Also, the dance floor/group exercise room has really dirty sticky floors. 128546 unlike the one in Hemady which is cleaner.

Bathroom is in a state of disrepair. The sinks are perpetually leaking. Lighting is dark. The only good thing about it is that if you forget your hair dryer, you can use the air curtain to dry your hair. A lot of ladies do, with good results.

It's been a month since I last went to the gym. Given that, I received a warm welcome from the trainers and some employees. Feels like home. Haha! Although, the front desk staff (even if they change from time to time) remains to be consistently grumpy and unfriendly! -1 for that!

Anyway, what made me smile this morning is the new and improved boxing ring (from 10x10 to 16x16) and the presence of other boxing equipments that weren't there before.

After working out, I was able to talk to the trusted staff of Elorde. He told me that Gold's Gym took the opportunity to tie up with Elorde, which I think is a good decision.

I'm looking forward to go back to my usual routine: Treadmill, machines, boxing/muay thai (I kinda miss jiu-jitsu training). Tried Zumba but I think it's not for me. If I'll join a group class, I would definitely go for Body Combat.

Btw, Gold's Gym also have sauna and steam, but I've noticed that my hair got thinner after several months of using it..must be the heat.

TIP: There are lesser people during 11am to 3pm 128170128170128170

After two years of teaching, I have to admit that I wasn't able to take care of myself. Most of the time, I ended up splurging on food because teaching and checking are just so exhausting at times. Little did I know that my body mass shoot up, and my clothes do not fit me anymore :(

When I learned about the promo for teens (wink wink), I immediately grabbed the chance to try to include exercising into my lifestyle.

Earlier today, I had my orientation with Mitch, my PT. She was very accommodating, and it seems like she's very determined to help me reach my fitness goals :) I think I'll be very encouraged to actually shape up again.

The gym has good equipment, as well as employees. The crowd, however, is so-so. Admittedly, it was so awkward to bump into several students, all shyly greeting me, while I was all sweaty and worked up :)) but then again, the gym is located right across the school I used to teach at so I should have foreseen that :))

It was actually my first time to ever go to the gym! I had felt guilty given the thought that I'd hang out at the CBTL downstairs while my boyfriend, a couple of his friends, his sister, and his sister's boyfriend all went to Gold's. I figured I may as well! I was brought in as a guest. :D

It wasn't a bad experience! My boyfriend advised me which machines to work out on at first, until I eventually felt comfortable enough to explore on my own. A lot of the facilities were in good working order, save for a few that well, weren't. I like that there are so many different machines that cater to very specific muscles.

I still ended up enjoying the free area, though, when there were no yoga sessions happening. You were free to take a mat and other equipment if you wish, and just do some yoga, stretch, or whatever else you wouldn't need the machines to do. I think I exercise much better without the need for heavy machinery.

There's nothing to hate about my first experience at Gold's, but if I were to sign up for a fitness program, I still prefer Barre3 (which I signed up for last year, but my sessions already expired. Aww). 128170

I decided to try working out at their Katipunan Katipunan when I purchased a voucher from groupon. It is quite a small area but a lot of equipments to try.

I've tried working out in 2 different timeslots: midafternoon (around 2 or 3pm) and night (7pm onwards). Since the gym is located in a highly populated fitness-conscious people area, so far I found it better to workout at night so there would be less people; thus you'll be able to workout and try most (if not all) their equipments.

They also have sauna and steam available in their bathrooms, just perfect to end your workout.
