This is my least favourite milk tea place.  Id usually visit the competition if proximity permits.  One of their drinks caught my attention though,  Taro Milk Tea.

I like everything Taro. My decision to get a large cup will not weird you out in any way, yeah?

50% sugar level and less ice.  Me likey this. Apart from the purple haze hue (Hendrix reference,  kids).  The taste is pretty decent,  the cream thingy blends well with the liquid.  It somehow deceives my brain thay this drink is made of some artificial taro powder.

I aint crazy about Milk Tea.  I drink one when i feel like it.  Today is one of those days that i felt like having one.

After getting some Bucky's and Cream at Bakers Fair,  i decided to get some milk tea. Gong Cha is near,  i ordered a large Toffee Caramel Milk Tea,  less ice,  50% sugar level,  no add-ons.  First,  i think all of the milk teas taste the same (except for Saints Alp and Happy Lemon's Cocoa with Rock Salt and Cheese)  the only difference is the cups.

This is a good refreshment when you want to veer away from soda and if you're about to die of drowning (too much water intake)

Haven't had a milk tea in a while and after my "healthy meal" during lunch, I craved for one na. Haha 128514

Gong Cha winter melon tea latte FTW! I will forever enjoy this drink. They have, IMO, the best winter melon milk tea in the market 128077

Caramel milk tea with 30% sugar to go.

Sweet hubs took some home and the paper cups survived the journey.

What I really wanted was to try Peanut Ds CBT from Serenitea, after reading so much about it. But hey, ok na din. Its the thoughtfulness that gives you butterflies9786

I asked them what their best-seller creative mix was and they told me: Lemon Wintermelon. Ugh, anything lemon and something else in my tea, NoWayJosé! I ordered the Wintermelon Alisan Tea instead, Large, with Pearls for P100.

I wasn't even halfway through my drink, I had to throw it away. The pearls were old. I don't think I like Alisan tea except when presented to me in those clay pots, in the mountains of Ali (duh). (Alisan is "Mount Ali" in Taiwan. I've been there. I miss their original tea...)

Sigh. Gong Cha isn't my favorite place to get BBT :( I haven't found a drink I liked in this place. Suggestions?

I am reviewing the drink I ordered, not the service, because the Gong Cha people in this branch are really friendly and quick. 128588

I ordered the Lemon Wintermelon.

I love Wintermelon, and I love lemonade, so I was thinking that maybe the combination would be spectacular.

Really bad idea. It tasted like lemon drop candies, and not in a good way. It was so sour!!! 128557 The combination wasn't that great. I added pearls, not knowing that it had its own sinkers already: little bits of chopped up lemon! 128541 Ewww who does that? Not even lemonade has that!

Drink experiment gone wrong.

I guess it's not the perfect combination. Not like bacon and eggs. Or diet and exercise (LOL. Just kidding). Or Popoy and Basha. 128525 Or Grey's Anatomy and a box of Kleenex. Or bananas and Nutella. Haha. #looloocontestreference

Tried the chocolate milk tea with pearls and 100% sugar. It's not so sweet, kinda on the dark side. I'm a fan of dark chocolate, but I like my milk tea sweeter! Wrong choice for me 128540

Lemon green tea... I think.128517

I had this last Friday and I forgot to make a review... but I didn't forget how good it was. Haha! I got normal sugar (100%!) but with more ice. 9786

It's comparable to Serenitea's Calamansi. 128521

This branch of Gong Cha is a bit hidden from the foot traffic of Power Plant Mall, and you wouldn't know about this unless you have a car and you parked right below the grocery store (it's located right above the escalator from the parking level to the grocery). I don't think even the grocery shoppers know about this since it's hidden around the corner.

I like this branch because there is never a line. Haha. Selfish. Unlike the one in Glorietta 4, which ALWAYS has a long line when I visit. Pssshh.

I always get my movie snack milk tea from here. Paired with some Chuck's Grub fish and chips (which is located right across Gong Cha! Convenient!), this is the perfect movie snack combo for me. Yes, it is located 3 floors below the cinema level, but I would gladly go the extra mile (or down extra floors) to order food from here.

I used to order the Gong Cha Wintermelon milk tea, the one with the special cream topping. 128523 But since I'm trying to cut back on sweets, I've taken to ordering the plain Wintermelon Milk Tea instead. I dunno, I think it has the same amount of calories haha. But without the cream topping, I can keep on trying to convince myself that this version is a bit lighter. LOL.

Gong Cha Wintermelon Milk Tea is my top Wintermelon milk tea. 2nd is Serenitea, then Moonleaf. But if I just consider the plain Wintermelon Milk Tea, it will probably be my 4th, or at the same level as Moonleaf. Parang they all taste the same kasi. 128540 The cream topping is what sets Gong Cha apart, but since I'm avoiding it (they don't allow you to change the sugar level with this drink), I would rather order from Serenitea. 50 % sugar level, of course. Hehe.

Gong Cha's Earl Grey milk tea is similar to Infinitea's Salted Cream Wintermelon Milk Tea. But the flavor of the tea differs from each other.

Earl Grey Milk Tea
Price P80.00 for medium
P95.00 for large
The milk tea was food but their pearls are a bit to soft and it was not too sweet.

Lemon Winter Melon Tea.

Good... not great. 128559

Gong Cha's location isn't very good... people would probably just pass by here if they're parked on this side. Otherwise, I'm quite certain they remain unnoticed. 128533

Oh yeaaaah! I will officially be a Tea Timer after this one! 128513 Ariane, this is for you! Lol. I just read your comment on my Normal Lemon review!

This Gong Cha branch replaced White Hat the yogurt place. I thought White Hat didn't do well because of their terrible location - it's behind Rustan's supermarket and the only way you'll see it is if you parked in that area of Power Plant.

Interestingly, this Gong Cha branch is packed. People actually have to fall in line! So much for my theory on that horrible location! 128540

I ordered their lemon green tea (Php 65) and it was pretty good. I liked it! After my milk tea trials with Serenitea and Happy Lemon, I think I'm done with milk teas for now.

Gong Cha employees are pretty nice too. :)
