It was an unexpected trip to Baguio with my partner and her family. We were searching for a good place to eat that has a great value for money. Thank goodness for Looloo. On with the review!

The place itself was totally unexpected. We had a good talk with Marissa and she told us about the history of Good Taste Restaurant. The place was packed with big family and big group of friends. We did not have a hard time finding a seat but waited a few minutes for the food to arrive. We ordered their fried rice, crispy pata, birds nest soup, tempura 2 siopaos and chicken mami. The meal was a good value for our money, everything was to share and everyone was stuffed after. If I were to be honest tho, I wish their crispy pata had more flavor, but everything else tasted so good. After dinner, our bill came and Marissa was surprised that our check was only for 1,031, considering the feast we ordered. Before leaving, my partner wanted to try their chocolate mousse. I forgot to take a photo of it but they also gave us a big serving.

All in all, I would go back to Good Taste in a heartbeat. I had a good time in Baguio and now I know why Good Taste has some great reviews from a lot of food lovers! 128076128076128076

This place is super sulit!! Seriously, ang dami ng serving! Lol 128514

Their short orders cost around 150- 250 per plate and 4-5 people can share it.

The place is simple, it looks like an upper scale karinderia. The food is also not the best but yeah it taste good! 128077

Ive read a lot about their buttered chicken but I did not like it, maybe I had a bad batch since the chicken was cold and tough. 128529

I would recommend their vegetables like chopsuey and bagnet with brocolli! 128525 also the crispy pata from the other table looks good! It only cost 300 I think 128514

I think this place is ideal for big groups who are really really hungry!

And oh they have a bakery station at the side! their cream puff was also super sulit! Lol for just 15 pesos a puff, its super good and filled with so much FEELING! ( I did that on purpose 128517)

Cant wait to go back 128522

Been here for a couple of times and would still come back here again and recommend it as well. Casual dining, serves Asian cuisine. Very ideal for big groups.

FOOD:

1. Tasty! Must try their buttered chicken, crispy pata and pinakbet. Must try everything actually

2. Cheap! It's so cheap that you can have a complete meal for just 120 pesos.

3. Big Servings

PLACE:

1. Good Taste has 2 locations (that I’m aware of) — 1 is at the Dangwa station right behind Center Mall in Magsaysay. The other location is near Burnham Park. If you’re facing the Rizal monument, go left until you see the Chowking building– it’s at the building behind it.

2. Don't expect a "fine dining" ambiance.... because it’s a fast food.

SERVICE:

1. Can be super slow especially during peak hours. Food may be served from 20 minutes to 40 minutes depending on how busy the place is. So if you decide to dine here, come as early as you can or be prepared to wait and be patient. Also, despite the fact that the restaurant has hundreds of chairs and tables, since it's popular, you may even experience joining a queue to be seated.

STAFF:

1. Not the best. They tend to be snobbish most of the time, up to the point where you have to call the attention of several crew member until someone decides to entertain you.

2. They work and act like robots, not much of customer interaction.

NOTE: Both branches are open 24 hours

Best option for good and affordable meals at the summer capital. Endless stream of satisfied diners fill the big dining hall in both branches, proof of the staying power of this dining institution in Baguio. Chinese food fare is what you get here and some baked goodies like muffins, specially liked the blueberry and the PUM muffin (pandan, ube, macapuno). For delice, tummy filling meals without breaking your bank and no qualms mingling with all kinds of peeps, come here.

When in Baguio City, one of the things I always do is find a good place to eat. Since this trip is with my workmates and we are 18 in the team, we opted for a big restaurant downtown for lunch upon arrival.

Pictured here is the Good Taste Fried Rice (PHP 115). We did not expect it was this much, there was 1/4 chicken and chopsuey with lechon. Food was okay but it's not as remarkable as expected, since we've been hearing a lot about it.

This remarkable restaurant is run like a well-oiled machine. Such a huge establishment catering to huge groups. I saw families, entire office departments and hordes of mountaineers. The remarkable thing is that order-taking is prompt and food is delivered hot and fast. I caught a glimpse of their cavernous kitchen and knew why. Food is great. We ordered siomai, lumpiang Shanghai and vegetables. Typical Chiinese restaurant fare. We left the building happy.

Burp!!! Excuse me...
So we ordered Spicy Buttered Chicken, Sinigang na Hipon, Lechon with Brocolli and Fried Rice plus 1.5 liter softdrinks with a grand total of 775php..

Seriously that cheaaaaaaaap!!!
The restau has 6 floors and believe it or not, you still have to wait as there is a long queue outside. With that being said, this restau is literally famous amoung locals and tourist.

Well,no doubt their food is heaven!!! Big serving, delicious dishes, affordable price. No one should miss this place if you're here in Baguio.

So we kind of panicked when we saw how long the line outside was but thank goodness the service was impeccable. The line outside disappeared as soon as it formed. Very affordable, food was good and top it off, filling too! You get your money's worth here, probably more. No doubt its as patok to the locals as it is with tourists. Definite must try. Especially those on budget.

Chopsuey, typical. need to spice a bit more for flavor. Few shrimps. :(

Buttered Chicken, good when still hot. A total opposite of chopsuey, flavorful.

Good Taste Fried rice, heavy. Good for long travel.

Brewed coffee, hot calamansi with honey, green tea. Thumbs up!!!!

I don't know how long Good Taste on Lapu-Lapu St. has been open, but from stories told by locals, this establishment has been open for many years now. I truly enjoy places with longevity.

Good Taste offers large family-style servings of a variety of dishes at very affordable prices. Both branches are large in size, accommodating well up to more than 100 persons, but still have a hard time finding a seat, especially on the weekends. Off the bat, you know it will be good; it's in the name!!

Again, Good Taste serves family-style dishes. No family style dish will exceed 300PhP. One can also order rice toppings if eating by themselves, which will run between 65PhP-75PhP. Great deal, right?

All dishes that I've tried have been great. Some of those dishes stood out in where I have to always order it when visiting Good Taste. One of those dishes is their Buttered Chicken. It's the favorite among locals, and I can taste why. You can taste the butter in every bite of the chicken. The sweetness from their sauce balances the saltiness of the butter. The chicken remains semi-crispy and yet juicy and tender. It's a must to have when coming here.

The Beef Steak is no joke either! Cuts of tender beef, coated with corn starch to soften the meat more, stir-fried with onions and fresh bell peppers is a delight. Bell peppers were not over cooked to give it a crunch as well as to preserve the sweet taste of the pepper.

Did I mention their Birds Nest Soup? That's a meal all by itself. This hearty soup comes with real birds nest (not the overly expensive ones), quails eggs, ground pork, carrots and peas. This, too, is a must order.

If you plan to eat by yourself, and don't want to order family-style dishes, you can order rice toppings as an option. All rice toppings I've tried so far have been delicious. **Always order fried egg (orange yolk) to go along with the rice topping.

When visiting Baguio, I implore to visit places like Good Taste. You don't need to spend a lot for satisfying food.

Happy eating!!!

Kainan ng bayan! Sulit for groups! I think their bestseller (as we always buy) is buttered chicken! Spacious restaurant with 1 branch at Otek Street, near Burnham Park. You'll really get the value of your money. 128077🏼

Three words: GARLIC BUTTERED CHICKEN

This restaurant has my 3 M's.
Mura
Masarap
Marami

Repetition for emphasis: GARLIC BUTTERED CHICKEN (the best EVERRRRR)

There was not a time that I went to Baguio and not eat here. It's definitely worth a try. They've been featured on TV for a couple of times because they live up to their name. The food is great, the servings are huge, and the price is so cheap. When you go and try this restaurant, please do not forget to try the GARLIC BUTTERED CHICKEN. Mentioned it thrice just in case you forget.

I'm sure now you won't. Try it now and thank me later. You know what? You don't even have to thank me. You're welcome.

A restaurant that's true to its name! One of the things I miss in Baguio is eating here. I've been a regular here during my college days. My favorites include (but not limited to) their Buttered Chicken, Beef Broccoli, and Sweet & Sour Pork. Swear, I could eat a dozen of the buttered chicken in one sitting, it's that good! Your Php1,000 can already go a looong way. Super sarap and sulit!

I finally had the chance to try the famous Good Taste resto! I am in the old branch behind Center Mall, and if you're not really from Baguio (like me) while on the way you may want to keep you valuables secure just to be sure hehe

I am doing this review mid-meal! Busog na ako pero may pagkain pa sa plato ko. Haha. The servings are big, good news for all of us gluttons! Haha! The food justified the taste too, it was good. I had the Good Taste Rice and Blue Lemon Iced tea for P90 and P30 respectively. Sulit!

Good service. My meal came in less than 5 mins i think. I'm very happy the visit was sulit! My tummy is happy hehe

I must say, the best place to eat here in Baguio (if your budget is tight 128513128521) is at Good Taste Restaurant! They have satisfying big meals that everyone could enjoy. 128513 Seriously, I LOVE EVERYTHING ON THEIR MENU! 128525 but what I order everytime we visit this restaurant is their Beef Ampalaya Rice (sometimes Lechon Ampalaya Rice)! I must say, I love ampalaya! 9996128514

Good Taste Restaurant has 2 branches. One near Centermall or Camp Dangwa Bus Station and the other is near Burnham Park corner of Cariño and Otek Street. Their branch near Burnham Park is a lot bigger than their other branch. They also have a parking space for their customers. Aaaaand, they are open 24/7, so what are you waiting for? 128513
