I have been to Baguio a few times but I have not heard of this restaurant until recently.

Had my sister never notified this to me, I would have never known that such restaurant exists.

When we finally got to Good Taste one weekend night, the first thing we noticed was the long lines outside. I was trying to figure out hard what were they lining up for. The taxi terminal? A blockbuster movie? To my surprise, it was the restaurant itself! Parang me magnetic appeal tong Good Taste na to because it seemed that all lines led to there.

One crew member (who managed the crowds outside) told us to go up the fourth floor. Huh!?! FOURTH FLOOR? What was going on on the fourth floor? But we climbed up the stairs anyway.

As we were going upstairs, we couldn't stop giggling because we thought this whole thing was ridiculous. We'd quip, "Anong kababalaghan jan sa taas?" 128514

But as we landed on the fourth floor, it was actually another dining area... and the number of diners hadn't still abated. Ang dami pa ring kumakain!

We didn't realize until later that the entire six-story building is owned by Good Taste! Yes, you can dine in up to the sixth floor if you wish. Unbelievable. Never been to a restaurant this big.

As for the interiors, Good Taste looked like more a government office than a restautant. Yung tipong mag-a-apply ka sana ng SSS ID at pipila sa window 1, window 2, etc. Tapos restaurant pala ang matutunghayan mo. Ni walang decor eh. But people do not come there for the ambiance... it's for the food, really. No fuss, no frills. Fortunately, di naman ako maarte (lol who am I to be maarte? Di naman ako kagandahan eh 128513). Kung saan masarap at mura... go! 128516

As if that didn't amaze us enough, we also learned that Good Taste runs 24/7. So yep, if you want a crispy pata in the middle of the night, no problem because Good Taste will answer your crispy pata cravings.

So to really know if the food really warranted the throng of diners who flocked outside just to eat, we tried the following:

🍽 Beef Broccoli - ₱210 ✔
The beef was so tender! And the pieces of fat, they melted in my mouth. Well-seasoned so no need to add patis.

🍽 Chopsuey - ₱165 ✔
I also liked it, particularly the "tengang daga" mushroom. Veggies were perfectly firm, not too hard and not too soft.

🍽 Shanghai Lumpia - ₱185 ✔
I want to thank my niece for she was the one who wanted lumpiang shanghai. It turned out to be the best lumpiang Shanghai I've ever tried so far! Basta iba siya. It just defied description. Ang sarap papakin!

🍽 Buttered Chicken (8 pcs) - ₱380 ✔
Best eaten when it's just off the fryer to enjoy the crispiness. It's like Buffalo wings, only not spicy. But there's also the Hot and Spicy Buttered Chicken (4 pcs for ₱200, 8 pcs for ₱400) for those who want their wings with a "kick."

🍽 Pork Siomai (4 pcs) - ₱45 ✔
You get what you pay for, as they say. I'm a big fan of siomai, so I was happy with my order. The pieces were big. They were meaty, and I could tell that they were all pork and no "imitation meat" or extenders.

🍽 Fried Rice (good for 6) - ₱160 ✔
Chao-fan style sinangag.

A bakery and pastry line were located on the first floor where you can buy cakes, pastries and breads. And we couldn't believe what we saw! Their cakes were super cheap. So stoked we were that we bought five cake slices and one egg pie slice for a takeout and we paid less than ₱250 for all of them! These included:

127856 1 Dulce de Leche - ₱85 ✔
127856 2 Choco Mousse - ₱35 each, so ₱70 ✔
127856 1 Yema Cake - ₱25
127856 1 Egg Pie - ₱25
127856 1 Chocolate - ₱25

TOTAL = ₱230

All were surprisingly good for their price, but the dulce de leche cake was the bomb!

In Manila and the outskirts, a slice of cheesecake costs at least ₱100. But in Good Taste, cheesecakes aren't even priced at ₱90! Let's consider the fact that the raw ingredients in Baguio are cheap, so lucky folks there.

Good Taste even had unique contraptions to serve food like those "food lifts" which delivered plates of orders up to the second floor.

However, service can be so slow especially during peak hours.

But overall, a very good experience at Good Taste. Truly, 'twas a goooooood taste! Delicious and affordable food. I will definitely go back there when I visit Baguio again. :) I've heard that their brewed coffee is good, too.

I confirmed to my cousin first where exact branch we had our lunch before I reviewed para sure since sya naman nagdala sa amin dito .. grabe tong resto na to ah blockbuster haha ... nabasa ko yung ibang reviews ng mga naunang nag dine dito and I totally agree with them , from big food serving , snob na mga crews,.dun ako nabwisit eh, sa mga crews eh..they are so hard to approach , parang kulang na lang magmakaawa kpa para pansinin kaya most of the time ako na nagseself service eh,getting water and few glasses for our use... yun pinaka inoobserve more than the food and everything they serve is their way of how they serve it.. I love the foods , lalo na yung veggies , since nasa baguio sila kaya fresh na fresh yung mga gulay, Tska yung crispy pata lang tinry ko , ok nman sya..di ko na natry yung pancit also the halo halo kasi sobrang tagal bago naserve eh busy nako nagbabantay sa mga pamangkins ko 128517 ... ok din yung place pede mag viewing after or while eating kung malapit kayo sa bintana... at safe nmn sa mga bata lalo na sa mga high floor area since naka cover naman ng thick glass na parang window , nasa 6th floor kami since punong puno na yta in lower grounds... at may elevator naman so you won't get tired climbing up, pero kung trip mo mag hagdan ok lang din may hagdan nmn syempre...they have fire exit din... at parang may maliit na garden sa veranda sa 6th floor... sana naman ayusin nila yung service nila at ngumiti ngiti naman,. baka yun pa makasira sa name ng resto nila ...

As a very frequent Baguio visitor, I am floored as to why I have never heard of this place until recently. This is considered pala as a go-to restaurant by locals and visitors. I wonder why non of my Baguio friends have recommended this to me either 🤔

Anyway, finally tried it 127775 Winner, winner chicken dinner. Buttered chicken for 190 pesos is a steal. Which we ordered because it’s what everyone recommends to try. I actually it thought it would be a buttered, fried chicken. It’s more like buffalo wings without the heat. Mas masarap if it were actually crunchy. But with the fried rice, ok na sya.

Got Lechon Mami 80.00 for the little girl and this one is pretty good. The pork was crunchy, the soup hot enough for the 16 degree weather.

Food is good for sharing. We had a lot to take home, it was too much for us 2 adults and 1 little girl. So our total bill of 460 for lunch lasted us another meal for dinner.

Place is very simple, like a giant carinderia. Can’t complain here, the food is really cheap and the serving size more than what you pay for.

Mura kasi kaya pwede na... their buttered chicken was too sweet for me, parang binuhusan ng sweet ketchup. Veggies are fine, but that's expected since you are in Baguio. Ambiance is well pang masa, too crowded and noisy.. but they do offer huge servings so i guess it wasn't a complete fail.

2 stars because their beef broc and chopsuey tastes the same...

Really good and affordable meals!! Yup, if you're hungry but also on a tight budget, this is the right place for you. At first, I wasn't really excited to go here because of the location (and because maarte 🙄) but surprisingly, it was not as bad and as crowded as I initially thought it will be.

So they have 2 branches, we went to the newer branch, the one near Sizzling Plate and Cafe by the Ruins (the original). This branch's location is better than and is more accessible, too. They have 6 floors, btw. Yup, one building and what's even surprising is they're always FULL!! Parang Gloria Maris in GH lang ang peg sa laki and dami ng customers! 128563 Plus, they're open 24 hours! Always ready and open to satisfy your Chinese food cravings!! 🤗

After reading the menu x times, we ordered the following:

SPICY BUTTERED CHICKEN (4/5)
- Not the buttered chicken version I was expecting but this was still pretty good. Not spicy nga lang but the chicken was fried well, still juicy and not dry. Also, breading was not that thick. And the best part? The small serving size was big and good for sharing. #SULIT!

PANCIT CANTON (4/5)
- We all liked this. Tasty yummy pancit canton with shrimps and lots of veggies. If you like pancit canton, you'll surely enjoy this one. 128521

LECHON KAWALI GUISADO (3/5)
- masarap naman, the pork was tender and malasa but maraming taba. 128542

As for the service... kind of slow but okay naman. 128517

This restaurant is open 24/7. So if you are craving for a scalding hot saucey pancit canton at 3 o'clock in the morning, they can help you and embrace your needs.

We we amazed with the hefty size of servings at that level of pricing. Amazeballs.

To the ownner: please have disposable chopsticks next time. That's the only complain I have. Superb food and Superb service and superb location.

Its my first time to visit Baguio and I am excited to see its offer!..Place, Food and its culture is the three major fact that id been look forward to.
1, with my four pamangkins arrived at early at 5:30 am all the way from Manila...to start our etinerary (Day Tour)we decided to have a breakfast at Good Taste Cafe and Restaurant near from burnham Park. We choose it due to the good reviews ive just read thats why im bit excited especially to try the all filipino flatter which compose of Longganisa,Egg,Cornbeef at plus free complimentary coffee 'san ka pa may breakfast ma with free coffee pa"..
..This is how it goes!!!
"..I ordered the Combo Rice+Longganisa+Egg+Free coffee..So much excited because The cornbeef is so "Linamnam"..which is heaven ang Taste..medjo pamilyar yung brand ang gamit nila...But what made me disappointed is the Longganisa may "IPIS"..yes "IPIS"..tinawag ko yung staff sobrang tagal nila...walang pumapansin sa amin...
May lumapit pero sobrang tagal...kinuha nya ang food to check daw...at ang tagal hindi nya kami binalikan..sa sobrang inip ko lumapit na ako sa cashier at hinanap ang Manager on Duty..gosh no Manager on duty''..Wala man lang nag sorry sa amin.....so rude..

Good food, happy tummies, happy wallets. It's no wonder this resto in the heart of Baguio is so popular. You get a hefty serving paying half the price. Plus side: it's open 24 hours! You can hop on a bus to Baguio, arrive in the wee hours of the morning, and go straight to Good Taste for breakfast. No lines during this hour too. 128518

Try going to Good Taste on a Sunday, around lunch time, and expect to wait in a long line outside the building. But the wait is worth it! Trust me.

Favorite is the buttered chicken and the sweet and sour pork. They also have pastries. Red Velvet cupcake for P30! C'mon!

This restaurant has been our go to establishment whenever we go on a hike around Benguet.

The dishes are affordable that it can satisfy your hunger after a tiring hike. Place is always packed though and parking can be limited as well.

Ordered Fried Rice and Asado, it's just 90PHp 128523128513

Operating Hours: Open 24 hours
Famous for their buttered chicken and pancit, this budget-friendly restaurant that looks like a huge food court is one of Baguio’s icons. Some people would argue that Good Taste does not live up to its name. But then again that’s not why loyal patrons and curious tourists come here. Like 50’s Diner, you will get more bang for your buck because of the generous serving. This also leads to the high possibility of the restaurant being fully packed especially during peak hours. Try to be patient if you chose to dine during these hours as there will surely be a waiting time for seats, food, and the bill.

Their breakfast selection although limited to only four combos, comes with garlic rice, fried egg, 2 dishes, and choice of your drink (brewed coffee, hot choco, Milo, pineapple juice, or iced tea), all for only 75 pesos! As the Pinoys would say it, “sulit!”.

Crowd favorites: Buttered Chicken, Chopsuey

Well recommended by the baguio locals, value for money but great servings. Taste really like moms house cooking with average restaurant ambiance. Sulit-busog!

We didn't like their "best-seller" buttered chicken. It kinda looks like buffalo wings, but the taste is too sweet the butter is too strong that will not match the color of the chicken.. i liked their sinigang sa hipon soup and its only Php 100. Very cheap. The place is very crowded. Waitibg time for the food is around 30 mins. Still a best place to eat with your family when in baguio.

Had breakfast at, I think, one of the busiest restaurants in Baguio. You probably won't believe it but at P95 pesos, their Good Taste meal consists of a quarter chicken, egg, peking duck, leckon kawali, mixed veggies and a big cup of rice. You also get a free soup which is very tasty. I wasn't even able to finish the whole meal by myself! This is the very definition of the word SULIT!

Loved everyrhing specially the buttered chicken. Winner!
Yun palang busog na busog na ko. Felt like fiesta all over the place.

It's a 6-storey resto so it can accomodate more than a hundred people. It's just a minute walk from Burnham Park. So after visiting the place I recommend you try Good Taste. 128525

One of most crowded restaurants in Baguio City that I visited is Good Taste. Famous with people on a budget, they serve big servings of super affordable food that taste really good. No doubt this place is a favorite by many tourists. You have to be extra patient though because their service is slow. We ordered the all-time favorite buttered chicken and chopsuey, good enough for 3 persons. We even had taken out some of our food for our breakfast the next day.
