A sweet escape within the metro, this artisanal restaurant serves not only a kaleidoscope of flavors, but also of its ambience. Those who want to unwind after a grueling day's work can sit back and just enjoy red wine or their selection of pica pica whether al fresco (in a garden indeed) or inside with their unique furnishings. Food quality was good but not as exemplary, but its ambience would make one definitely come back.

My girlfriend's birthday is coming up and we are planning to invite people over at some restaurant and we considered Gourmet Gypsy. I checked out this place days ago, but today I asked her to come with me and have lunch so we can try their food.

We had.....

128073🏼 Elote Mexicano for appetizer (php180) - charred corn croquetas, chipotle mayo, goat cheese feta, cilantro
128516 It has 4 pieces, shaped like a burger patty, i liked it's flavor plus it has corn kernels which is my favorite

128073🏼 French Onion Soup (php160)
128543 it doesn't look appetizing and it's too salty

128073🏼 Chicken Souvlaki (php380) - chicken marinated in rich yoghurt garlic, potatos, and a choice of flatbread or rice (i chose rice)
128516 it is served in a skillet and the portion can be shared

128073🏼 Al Nero for pasta (php280) - squid in inky sauce, fresh mango and basil
128512 i liked it because it's different from my usual pasta, the color of the mango pops and it's sweetness matches the saltiness of the pasta sauce

I liked the ambiance and good location too since they have a parking space.

I liked their food but my partner didn't so I guess the birthday won't be happening there.

Decided to meet up with some of my college friends near the Tomas Morato area one day. We couldn't really decided on where to eat when we stumbled upon this quaint little restaurant quite a distance away from the busy, lively Tomas Morato strip. It's called Gourmet Gypsy Art Cafe, and looked pretty plain and unassuming on the outside. Just an open space for parking and a simple lit-up sign of the establishment next to a wooden door. We decided to just go with it and went inside.

Woaaah! The interiors heavily contrasted the plain facade. The place looks really nice. Heavy wood furniture scattered about the place, making each chair and table look unique. There were cushions with different colors and designs, paintings and rugs hung on the wall, hanging lights, potted plants and more bits of quirky furniture from sewing machine tables to a sink-bike combo!

They also have an al fresco area out back in a garden-like setting with colorful metal chairs and tables and pretty string lights and lanterns.

We all settled down and had a look at their menu. They offer appetizers, soups, salads, pastas, flatbread pizza and several mains. Prices are steep with the soups/salads/appetizers in the 200-300 peso range and their mains from 400-500 pesos. 128556 We hoped with those prices, we'd be satisfied. A friendly waiter attended to us and helped us order.

127831 Indian Butter Chicken. This was basically some chicken breast cooked in tomato sauce with yoghurt gravy. We had the dish served with some flat bread. Since I'm not a fan of tomato sauce-based food (it wasn't clear on the menu), I had to scrape the sauce off. Should've ordered it on the side. This dish was okay, wasn't crazy about it. I liked the side salad that came with it haha.

127830 Five-Spice Pork Belly. There were only a few pork pieces and they were dry, crunchy and chewy at the same time. Kind of confusing. Although I did like this better than the chicken.

127844 Seafood Pasta. Now, even if there was tomato sauce in this, I really liked it. Best dish of the night in my opinion. There was a generous serving of pasta, shrimp, squid, mussels and chorizo in here. The taste of seafood and sauces blended nicely.

127837 Pesto Primavera. This tasted good as well, no meat in this. It was quite filling.

For the main meals, I've got to say that I think the pastas give you a bit more bang for your buck. The rice meals were kind of a let-down for me. On to dessert!

⚫️ Mixed Fruit Cobbler. We really liked this. It was soft, firm, delicious and fruity and not too sweet!

⚫️ Homemade Ice Cream. We had their passion fruit and Blue Cheese and Fig flavors. The passion fruit flavor was a bit sour, but the blue cheese and fig was nice. Right blend of flavors that didn't overpower each other but rather complemented one another quite nicely.

Overall, I think that the restaurant had several misses but also some hits. I don't think the prices were really justified as well, but some of the good dishes are worth a try.

This coffee jelly dessert combined sweet, salty and bitter flavors. It was a memorable taste, one that I look forward to having again in the near future.

Everything here is not ok!! From service to food to bill!! Service is too slow.. They cannot accomodate big groups. Salmon is raw! Chicken is overcooked (sunog). Coffee is not served the clever way! (The reason why i ordered it is because of its unique way of serving it) Don't order the blue cheese and fig ice cream! It tastes weird and doesn't taste good in ice cream! It took more than 30 minutes to give us the bill and the computation is manual and wrong! So we need to wait for another half an hour! Sorry but i won't be coming back here!

Five-spiced pork belly and Baby back ribs for our sunday lunch date! Priced at around 320 and 480 respectively, I don't think it's worth it. I mean, they don't taste bad or nasty....it's just that, It's very ordinary. The belly was pretty dry...and I'd rather go to Rub for the ribs. Cheaper and better.

For the appetizer, we ordered the skillet focaccia dip. It looks really presentable, however, the cheesy spinach and sundried tomato dip produces sour taste which not everyone would appreciate.

For the mains, we had the five-spice pork belly which is dry, the pork and clam favada which has the afritada-like sauce and the indian butter chicken which lacks flavor in my opinion.

I do not recommend dining here if you would like legit lunch or dinner. This place is okay if you are having coffee and dessert only or you would like to have a good photograph for instagram.

Too bad I don't have pictures that time128532

I had the chance to plan for our Christmas Party last December; so, I looked for nearby restaurants with great ambiance and good food. Luckily, my brother's girlfriend recommended Gourmet Gypsy.

Initially, I was quite uncertain with the prices since we were working on a budget. Good thing we were able to haggle the price down for their catering service.

The food was great especially their salmon dish. The place looks so decent and artsy (which was perfect for the industry we're in).128512128512128512

Too bad I haven't tried their Affogato I heard it was great!128542

Oh how we love to get lost and find such wonderful place for a late lunch 9786️ This is a fairly new place (opened last Nov.) with lots of potential. We were so pleased that we went to this beautiful place. As we entered the place we were welcomed with warm smiles and greetings by the staff. Hungry as we were we immediately ordered but of course asked first what they'd recommend 128522

We enjoyed everything that we had, firstly , the bread basket (p180) it goes with 3 dips; dukkah dip which was a mixture of nuts, seeds and spices, olive oil dip and the one that we loved the most was the liver pate dip with shiitake mushroom.

Next came the Seafood chorizo cioppino pasta, superb! You could see the freshness of the shrimps, there's mussels, squid and chorizo de bilbao in it 9786

My unica hija tried the Five spiced pork belly which was served with salad, rice and vinegar sauce.

They have a garden at the back I guess for al fresco dinning. The bunso enjoyed running around and keeping himself busy while we savored the delicious, tasteful, wonderfully executed dishes we had 9786️ What a stimuli to the palate!!!

This is a nice place to bring family and friends and have a great dinning experience. We would definitely go back with the rest of the family. I hope you'll have a great time here like we did 97869786

I like the ambience of this place. The decors are Indian-bohemian inspired, not something you'd expect from the area so I had high hopes which unfortunately were not met.

The grilled cheese was just meh! How I miss Wildflour's Grilled Cheese, or maybe Borough's. We also had one of their pastas and rice dish but they were unforgettable.

They serve "Clever Cup of Coffee" using a neat Coffee Dripper (you set the dripper on the table first and let the water set with the beans, before putting it on top of the cup - which immediately releases the coffee from the dripper via a push mechanism of some sort). So cool.

Really good service though!
