You can't visit Dagupan and not try pigar-pigar. Its a local dish that sort of resembles tapa, except that they use carabao meat and stir fry it with veggies. Did a little research to look for one of the more known pigar-pigar eateries in the area and ended up here. And yup, its soooo good i still cant believe why they dont have this in Manila. The bangus i can understand why Manileños cant replicate, but stir fried and marinated carabao meat? Whyyyyy
And of course, couldnt pass off the chance for another round of bangus! Bangus sisig! As long as its bangus and you're in Dagupan, i swear its good! Heck, even at a pigar-pigar joint.
Btw, the owner here was very extremely friendly and offered deep fried espada on the house! Salty, crispy, and good! Espada is another local fish popular in Dagupan. When deep fried and salted, it kind of tastes like your typical fried lapu lapu.
