I've always wanted to try Green Pastures whenever I would pass by it at Shangri-la Plaza Mall. So glad an opportunity to eat here came!! 128516

Green Pastures serves all organic dishes. So expect prices to be a bit high but rest assured, the taste is quite good!

FARMHOUSE SALAD (Gluten Free) • Php 430 (S) • Php 595 (L)
I loved the salad! It was so filling already! The mixture of goat cheese, eggs, bacon (10084️) and so much more was perfect!

SCAMPI CHORIZO • Php 530 (Solo) • Php 730 (To share)
Shrimps, chorizo, light sofrito and linguini... Loved this! It was a bit spicy because of the chorizo but delicious!! (I'm actually getting hungry while writing this.)

The last one I forgot what it was called but it was like BEEF SALPICAO. 128525 Tender and really yummyyy!!

As mentioned earlier, their dishes can be on the pricey side, but their serving is pretty big too. Maybe good to share for 2-3 people.

Looking for organic? How about wanting to try organic? Good organic food restaurants are hard to find nowadays and there are only a few of them in Manila.

Located at the fourth level of Shangri-La's East Wing in Ortigas, is Green Pastures. By Cyma's Chef Robby Goco, Green Pastures is an organic restaurant and most of its ingredients are locally-sourced.

Here are the things that we had:

Yang Chow Fried Cauliflower Rice. 8-hour roast pork, river shrimp, 142 degree egg, scallion, lettuce, green peas, and carrots. It is as good as having Yang Chow fried rice without realizing that you are having cauliflower instead. Having cauliflower as a substitute for rice is also known to aid in weight loss.

House Made Cheese: Burrata. Mt. Atok organic strawberries, grape tomatoes, basil oil, balsamic syrup, and lemon zest. Burrata is high in fat and an ounce contains about 90 calories. This dish can actually trick you on your diet but taste-wise, the combination of fruits and burrata cheese is indulging.

KFC - Korean Fried Cauliflower. Soy garlic glazed, house made sriracha mayo. For those who are not into eating vegetables, this is a must-try. This KFC dish tastes like you are just having that soy-glazed Korean Fried Chicken which is really good and you won't be able to say "no" to veggies again.

Milkeggshoney. Organic honeycomb, greek yogurt, cirus curd. It's my first time to try organic honeycomb and this dessert is totally different from the ones that I had. Slightly sweet with a touch of creamy-sour taste and a different texture (from the honeycomb). The healthy ingredients did not give me a guilty feeling from eating dessert. You just have to watch out for the honeycomb getting stuck between your teeth.

Detailed review on my blog site (see profile).

Late Review: Went here for a late lunch to welcome a friend who just came back from Dubai. We chose Green Pastures for a healthy and organic food choices.

Ordered:

Crab Meat, Sea Urchin (Lemon, Chives, Spaghetti) P585 - big servings and sea urchin works well with the spaghetti.

KFC (Korean Fried Cauliflower) P195 - this one tasted good to my surprise. It tasted like a buffalo wings to me and I liked it.

Stracciatella P325 - this one was served with bread and arugula.

Tequila Joe's Organic Beef Sloppy Cow P550 - tender and has good flavor.

We also ordered their wine but I forgot how much it was.

Food is great.
Pleasant ambience.
Staffs are friendly and helpful.

Healthier than the mass-produced, commercialized burgers around, this Meat on Meat Classic Cheeseburger uses sirloin, chuck and ribeye patties from local, grass-fed cattle, and organic veggies, following the farm-to-table philosophy. It's also served with sweet potato fries! The photo though does not do justice to the right thickness of the patty. Hehe.

I really wanted to try that Duck You! But WTD?! They were out of stock! E yun nga yun ipinunta ko dun.. Duck my luck! Duck talaga. Disappointed ako I didn't wanna order anything anymore. The wifey wanted the Carbonara and asked me if I want burger. Dahil nga wala na ko maorder i just agreed and pointed at the first burger entry that I would see. It was Blue Ribbon.

✔️ Blue Ribbon Burger - well... I loved it. 128525 The patty kept falling apart but I didn't mind. The beef was just too yummy! Isang kagat lang at napangiti na ko 128513. I even liked the fries and the Cumin Dip! 128077

✔️ Green Pasture Carbonara - we loved this one as well. 128525 Very creamy! However, we had to remove all the Green Peas because we both don't like Green Peas. Sorry. 128513

Sana sa susunod na pagbabalik namin may Duck You! na ha... Kasi kung wala, Duck You kayo sa akin! 9996128514

Having a stressful week? Why not destress with an order of Green Pasture's Meat on Meat Classic Cheeseburger. The most incredible part of this burger is its beef patty, which is stuffed with short rib. It is definitely one of the juiciest patties I have ever had. Actually, reminiscing about it has gotten me craving for it again. This order, although quite pricey, is good for a party of two.

To balance out the seemingly sinful burger, we also ordered the DIY Salad which allows you to play around with the available ingredients. Trust me when I say that an order is more than enough for two.

Tip: It would be better if you can ask for the dressing to be served on the side, so that it does not affect the crisp of your greens should you not be able to finish it all on one go.

Honestly loved every single bite off that meal and I cannot wait to come back for more!

I am not really a fan of "healthy" meals so I was a little hesitant to eat here. Of all the food we ordered, the only things I liked are found below. But funny thing is, I don't have photos of these dishes 128514

Beef salpicao - beef was tender and juicy and cooked just right. However, I know I've had better tasting salpicao before. This dish is just okay.

Ceasar salad with kale - a different twist of your usual salad using lettuce and kale.

There are restaurants you just can't wait to review and this is one of them. 128516128516

I have to say that I think Green Pastures is one of the best restaurants in the metro. I mean like there is nothing in the menu that isn’t good. 128076

Last Saturday, before heading out, my mom suggested to having dinner in Green Pastures. OMG! I was so excited!! Like tears of joy!!! 128557

Just hearing the name Green Pastures already had me thinking of their 48 Hour Short Rib Grilled Cheese Sandwich. 128055 Mhmmmm. The first time I got to try a piece of it was 2 weeks ago, when I had lunch with my boyfriend’s family. I ordered pasta, but when I tried some of the sister’s sandwich I knew I ordered the wrong thing. Lol I got like a small piece lang before and I secretly wanted more haha so I made sure that in our recent visit I’d get one all to myself! 🤗

But since I’m nice, I spilt it with my sister. Hahaha and it was so worth it! The short rib and the cheeses and the bread! Gaaaah PERFECTO!128076 Best grilled cheese ever! I don’t even have anything to compare it to. Like I forgot all the others I’ve tried before. Hehe not exaggerating! 128557128557 Grilled Cheese is usually best paired with tomato soup, but I was never really a fan of that. The sweet potato chips on the side tho were good!

We also ordered Carbonara, which I didn’t really like because of the peas and because I remembered it being so much better the first time I had it. But that was over 2 years ago.

My mom had her usual Blue Ribbon Burger. That’s grass-fed beef with a touch of bleu cheese sandwiched in between a brioche. The ingredient that made it a masterpiece, or what they’d call THE DAVID, was caramelized onions. Good enough to be a usual, but I would never have the whole thing, I’d always half it. My heart belongs to the 48 Hour Short Rib Grilled Cheese! Forever and Always! 100241002410024

Good service, laidback ambiance.

I really enjoyed the pork chops, February salad, and the duck you fries. Unfortunately this review is a mixed bag because the crab pasta I ordered was served very late, looked very plain and had no flavor whatsoever. I'm surprised that the pasta dish was such a disappointment. Anyway I may go back but will not be ordering any pastas.

My preferences seem to be different from my colleagues. Whenever we vote on something, I usually end up choosing the option NO ONE votes for. Just like when we were deciding where to have our celebratory dinner, I chose Kettle or Brotzeit; both chosen by nada. Curious which one won? Green Pastures.

Hello, Green Pastures!

Okay, I have a love-hate relationship with this one. I recall that I ordered the wrong dishes on my first visit and I had yummy pasta but a weird drink on my second visit. This time around though, my boss, M, ordered for the team and got Ricotta (PHP225), Stracciatella (PHP325) andAutumn Surprise (PHP430, small | PHP595, large) for appetizer; Scampi-Chorizo (PHP500, solo | PHP700, sharing), 80/20 Burger (PHP550), Roasted Organic Chicken (PHP650) and Tap-Caulisi-Log (PHP600) as our mains.

First served was the bowl of salad.

I truly enjoyed the mix of greens, nuts and fruits. There were a lot of flavors and textures going on making it very interesting. My favorite was the candied walnuts.

Ricotta and stracciatella were served next.

Almost everyone liked the stracciatella cheese more but I prefer ricotta cheese as it had a tangier flavor. The scracciatella needed a bit of salt for taste while ricotta tastes even better with the onion jam. Then again, the arugula made scracciatella delightful.

Now for the main dishes…

The Scampi-Chorizo is love. With a bit of spice, this red sauce based pasta was a winner! The shrimps used were fresh and the chorizo’s taste wasn’t overwhelming (or too salty).

The 80/20 burger was a bit difficult to divide amongst ourselves but the meaty 80% grass fed beef and 20% double smoked organic pancetta did not disappoint.

It was so succulent and flavorful. Even the fries tasted… organic in a good way!

I also loved the roasted chicken. It was tender and far from being called “dry”. Roasted in konbu (kelp) brine, it helped bring a more interesting flavor.

But the most memorable dish that night was the cauliflower rice. It felt like you’re eating rice but it was bits of cauliflower topped with wagyu tapa and egg. Healthy without tasting like it. I love it!

P.S. You can ask for extra bread for the cheese. We thought we’ll be charged for extra bread so we were trying to eat our bread “wisely”. But you could get more for free.

Organic. This craze is getting stronger and stronger as time pass by. I guess it's actually a good craze as people are becoming more health conscious. I'm not too fond of organic food though as I think it tastes the same as the usual non-organic kind and because it is way pricier than its "unhealthy" counterpart. Don't get me wrong though as I try organic or healthy food from time to time. Like when I tried Juju Cleanse and Slice. And because of my desire to visit all restaurants I see in malls, my friends and I visited Green Pastures.

Hello Green Pastures!

There's a short wait before we could be seated. Oh the charm of new restaurants. This one was featured on T.V. and my aunt told me to give this a try and so I did.

I just came from Kimukatsu so I was still pretty full when I met A and L. (AL?) So I decided to go for the Local Artisanal Cheese (PHP325, single; PHP425, choice of 2; PHP850, full) and MilkEggsHoney (PHP155) for dessert. A went for the Meat On Meat Classic Cheeseburger (PHP595) while L ordered Octopus Bone Marrow (PHP425) and Duck You fries (PHP185). We all ordered Hibiscus Iced Tea (PHP90 per glass, PHP135 refillable) out of curiosity on how different it would be from a typical iced tea.

Service was quite quick as the Duck You which was served with a mini spray bottle of sauce, which happens to be vinegar, arrived in less than 10 minutes. The Duck You fries are your typical fries cooked in duck fat and topped with duck skin and duck confit. This dish is rather unhealthy but something duck lovers would enjoy.

Next served was my cheese order. I got the Neufchatel Cream Cheese with Smoked Salmon. The serving of cheese wasn't that generous but it was definitely enough for the four slices of bread. I wasn't very experimental though and ate the nuts, grapes honeycomb and cheese separately. I enjoyed the cheese though I hardly tasted the salmon.

L said that her Octopus Bone Marrow was very tasty but not to the point that it's tiring. Though she said that it was very filling. So if you want to try several dishes, best to split this one.

A's burger seems filling too. It has fries on the side and the burger's size was bigger than those you see in fast food chains. She finished it though faster than I finished my order. So I guess it really deserved to be one of the bestsellers.

The MilkEggsHoney was rather interesting. Greek yogurt plus honey comb, milk and citrus curd do not go so well together for me. I didn't finish it as it was too sour as dessert. At least the Hibiscus iced tea was pleasant to the taste buds. It was quite refreshing. :)

I told myself never to come back here because of my failed order but I did a couple of months after and I loved what I had. But that's for another entry. 128521

It's always nice to hear about restaurants who use locally-sourced ingredients. And Green Pastures is one of those. But their dishes don't just use local produce. They are also chemical-, preservative-, and MSG-free.

128205Autumn Sunrise Signature Salad
I seriously loved this salad. If I can have this everyday, I would. It had a lot of crisp greens, bits of sweet potato, blue cheese, onions, chopped bacon, egg, candied walnuts, some pear bits, and balsamic vinaigrette as dressing. It was sooo flavorful and refreshing. An order can probably be shared by up to 3 persons.

128205Roast Organic Chicken
Brined chicken, served with lemon and grilled asparagus. This was delicious as well and the meat was tender. Half chicken in one order so again, this is good for sharing.

Prices weren't exactly very affordable but considering that the dishes may be shared by up to 3 or 4 individuals (plus they're organic), I'd say it's not so bad.

Service was great. Servers were pretty attentive and polite.
