I go here for pasta that is served piping hot on a bowl with generous amounts of what i chose to go on it. A few favorites are the tuna with olives and capers, and the chorizo in tomato sauce.

First time to give a FIVE STAR! Non pretentious, just good food, good service and friendly prices.

Tired of the usual restos in Shang Mall so we decided to try Green Tomato since it was new to us. Glad we discovered it!

Menu consisted of appetizers, salads, pizzas and pastas, some hot/warm entrees and desserts. I ordered the pork chops with mushroom risotto and the boyfriend had sausage pasta. Both didn't disappoint.

Wait time was reasonable. Pasta was served hot, and it was tasty. Pork chop came in a few minutes after and boy was it HUGE !!! Although risotto looked like ordinary rice grain to me, it was cooked well and mushroom was generous in proportion. Boyfriend and I was blown away with quality of food and price was unbelievable fair. I didn't have any plan to ordered dessert but since I was so impressed with food taste and quality ordered the banana caramel pastry thingy that came with free coffee (it was the real brewed kind). I prefer they served the bread warm so that the ice cream would have melted and made some sort of sauce.

Service is above average- gave them extra tip aside from the service charge they have incorporated with the receipt. Will try other orders next time. Good job Green Tomato!

We were in a rush to have dinner because we were catching Wolverine at the theater in less than thirty minutes, so we picked a place not too far away.

We ordered the beef roll-up, which is some sort of a cross between lasagna and canelloni. Nothing really spectacular here, which is disappointing, considering it's supposed to be one of their bestsellers. The pasta was al dente, and the tomato sauce had a bit of a nice tang to it. Unfortunately the beef kind of lacked flavor, and the cheese tasted like the processed kind found in supermarkets (quickmelt maybe?).

I found the price fair; at 500 pesos maybe 3 to 4 people could actually split the "to share" portion.

To be fair to the restaurant though, we had them rush the order and we gobbled it up in only a few minutes because we were going to be late. And we've had some of their other dishes here before that we liked, like the truffle pizza, so maybe another visit is in order for a more thorough review.

Torn between 2 or 1 rating. Since boyfie and I were both craving for pasta, and we saw a huge menu outside their place.128517

• PLACE
- Al fresco set up. Nothing extra ordinary.

• SERVICE
- Twas below average. I swear. I haven't see any of them smiling, or just a glimpse of smid on their faces. 128529

• FOOD
- Pesto for me and Jake's Fave for boyfie.

Their pesto was terrible. Swimming in oil and literally color green! The greenest pesto I've seen. Not sure if there's any artificial color or watsoevs. But it's tasteless. I've tried fixing it with dash of salt, pepper and parmesan cheese. But It didn't help at all. I was really disappointed. 128532 As for boyfie, yes, we have the same experience. It's a tomato base pasta that's really bland. 128557

Good thing! The rating saver is their Buffalo Pizza. Though the onions were gigantic cut, still, the flavor of the pizza sauce were good. Tangy, spicy , sweet flavor on everybite. But only has a number of chicken bits. 128556

We ordered our usual: The Shrimp & Feta pasta, Carbonara, and the Hans and Franz. The Shrimp & Feta is one of my favorites, really. Their serving is big enough to satisfy that big appetite. A good place to bring the family or a date with someone since it's near the movie house.

Place: It was ok, nothing too special. Just an ordinary resto. Can accommodate upto 30-40 guest

Food: Carbonara P210
I liked it very much because the amount of cream was just right with the pasta. I don't like saucy types the one where the pasta is swimming into the sauce haha.

Good Earth Pizza P205
It has 3 kind of mushroom and white cheese, also in thin crust. This was just ok for me, but my friend liked this one. :)

Ordered the 4 cheese pesto pizza as per a looloo recommendation. It was okay.

Also got the chicken, mushroom truffle penne pasta and it was pretty good.

My girlfriend ordered a puttanesca and this one I really enjoyed! I stole it from her (Mwahaha). I wouldn't say it's the best puttanesca I've ever had since I barely order it in restaurants, and whenever my sister cooks puttanesca in the house I usually butcher it with hot sauce and chili flakes. But I can say that this is the first puttanesca I really liked and enjoyed. I'd go back to Green Tomato solely for that.

This review is just for the pesto and four cheese pizza delivered to us during our meeting at GT Tower.

I haven't really been to Green Tomato yet and haven't tried their other choices but for this particular food, I give this a perfect score.

The pizza's thin dough was perfectly baked, and the pesto and cheeses were generously scattered on top. The feta was the most visible and recognizable visually and in taste. The strong flavor of the pesto combined well with the saltiness and richness of the cheese which made it all the more delicious. I never thought I'd like this kind of pizza so much because i was never a fan of pesto but yeah, given the chance, I'd go to Green Tomato and order this again. 128077128522

Ang pasta na hindi bitin! Green Tomato offers pasta dishes that will make you satisfied and happy. Their pasta dishes tastes like its been made with love. All the ingredients that they use are fresh and premium. I especially love their Dulong pasta but the one with anchovies is good as well.

Try the Sun-dried Pesto and Shrimp Salsa-- it's not an ordinary pasta that you'd get tired of eating!

When you're going through a vegetarian phase (like me 128539) this place is practically a fast food joint. I can order any of their numerous pastas which cater to any palate. Their Sundried Pesto and Shrimp Salsa is delicious, and I love it like I love their Vegetarian Pasta. The Roasted Vegetable Soup is always a good choice too! And for those carnivores out there, the Mighty Meaty pasta is a creamy take on a classic meatlovers and I've heard more than a few rave about it.
Food is always best shared with others and in places like GT where you'll end up spending in the P200-300 range, you might as well have some company! 128521

Green Tomato used to be favorite Italian restaurant in Shangri-La Plaza. I say “used to be” because it’s been a long while since I was last here, and since then, I’ve had my taste of other puhretty fine Italian dishes from other restaurants. I had a chance to revisit Green Tomato today since I had a meeting nearby; it was my chance to see if an old flame is still up to par.

The verdict? I was kinda disappointed. My favorite pasta dish from Green Tomato was “Pepperoni and Onions” so I was really itching to order THAT. I saw that they had some new items on the menu, though, so I thought, “what the heck, let’s experiment.” Gaaah. I should’ve stuck to my instincts and ordered what I love! I ordered Spinach Pasta, because I wanted something “healthy,” and because it had truffle oil in it. I love truffle-infused dishes! Haha! However. the dish that arrived didn’t look too appetizing. It was too…GREEN. It also had too much sauce, parang “malabnaw,” so my pasta was all soggy. 128078

What happened, Green Tomato??? 128557

Maybe I just ordered the wrong dish. It IS a new menu offering, so maybe they haven’t perfected it yet. I should have ordered my usual Pepperoni and Onion pasta, or Pesto! Huhuhu. 128557

One of the best Italian restaurants in Shangri-La Plaza Mall, Green Tomato never fails to serve delicious pastas, pizzas, and salads. Their pastas are perfectly al dente and sauces are in generous proportions and well-seasoned.

Must-try pastas are the Shrimp and Feta, Anchovy Shrimp (in photo), and Alfredo. You can choose from spaghetti, linguine, fettuccine or penne. I highly recommend their Crabstick Salad--strips of crabstick, seaweed, and egg with honey-mustard dressing.

Pizzas to try are Margherita, Anchovy and Garlic, and Chorizo, Olives, Tomato. And lastly, a dish I've only found at Green Tomato is the Chicken Liver and Duck Egg Pâté.

One of my favorite restaurants in Shangri-la Mall. Nice and affordable place to go to for a meal after a stressful day at work.

Their pizza and pasta dishes are great. I usually go for the Bacon Mushroom Special or Mighty Meaty when having pizza. The personal size can be shared. For pasta, I recommend the Alfredo, Chicken and Mushroom, and Beef and Spinach Roll-up.

Service is excellent even during busy times. The staff will even go out of their way to tell you if you're eerrr flashing the other diners. (Side story: A female Caucasian's jeans were too low that her butt crack showed much to the amusement of everyone. A writer politely told her about it but her male friend took offense. They walked off in a huff.)

When you get food to go, the staff are thoughtful enough to include some parmesan cheese or (if you ask) chili flakes.

Green Tomato never fails to satisfy my pasta cravings. I had mine to-go and they were thoughtful enough to throw in an entire ziplock worth of parmesan. Haha
I also love how the waiters make you feel right at home. I couldn't decide on what to order so I just said that I'll order my waiter's favorite. Haha
