I am meeting Mr.  Bond for dinner.  I am also expecting Mr. Waltz to gatecrash and wreak havoc.

Daniel Craig is my second favorite actor to play 007 and I want to see Spectre as soon as it hits the theatres.

Do not go to a popular cinema on a Friday afternoon to watch a movie on the first day of screening.  You have to endure long lines and PDA from hipster couples.  If you're like me who prefers quiet and tamed moviegoers,  then head on to Greenbelt 1 cinemas.  The cinema is not as awesome as the others but the picture quality is okay,  same with the audio.  The only downside is that there is not enough leg room.

Back to Spectre,  Chritoph Waltz is scary good.  I kinda expected that for the Academy Award Winning Actor.   Cool,  calm,  cunning and diabolical,  perfect recipe for a  villain.   The latest bobd girl,  Lea Seydoux is the chick in Blue is the Warmest Color.  Yoy gotta hand it to the French,  they make everything pretty.  And Kate Winslet's ex hubby did a good job directing,  although i still think Skyfall is the best Bond movie ever.

One of the oldest stomping grounds for kids in high school and college, this cinema has evolved in many ways, from a simple movie house, to one of a series of malls with specialty shops. They have remodeled the mall and cinemas since then. Now, there are better and nicer chairs that are very comfy, and the price is not too steep, an inexpensive way to escape reality. Leg room is ample enough for most tall people. Getting a ticket is easy but you have to take the escalator or stairs to go to the cinema itself as the ticket booth is at the ground floor whereas the cinema is at the second. I wouldn’t mind making this my regular cinema to watch my highly-anticipated movies. The only downside is that there are only two cinemas inside this movie house. It kinda limits your options. Whatever movie you choose to watch, you’ll be comfortable and won’t regret paying the price of admission.

I prefer watching movies alone.   I am really picky in choosing my movie buddy and I am the artsy/old school action/whatthefuckjusthappened/mind warp/subtitles/dramatic detachment kind of movie goer.  In short,  I veer away from the mainstream,  I  like movies that will make my neurons work.  And yes,  I am not the rom-com type of xx chromosome.

Greenbelt 1 Cinema is a hidden gem.  I usually watch movies there when I want to stay away from people.  And yes,  I  am all for the first screening.  GB1 turns into my own personal home theatre sytem then.

Why do I like this theatre? Let me count the ways...

1.  Affordable.  Tickets are less than php 200.   I don't in spend much for movies (Scorcesese,  Nolan,  Van Sant,  McQueen  is an exception).
2.  Quiet.  I am all for seclusion.  I abhor rowdy moviegoers and the ones who has twitchy limbs (the annoying ones who keeps on kicking the seat).
3.  The cinema is well-maintained.  Good sound system (not as good as Atmos) and well ventilated.  I like the single chair located near the exit,  that is my favorite seat.  I have my name carved on the armrests  (kidding)
4.  Friendly staff.
5.  Proximity.  The cinema is a couple of steps away from National Book Store.

And I cheated on DC,  I watched Fantastic Four while waiting for the traffic to wither and die (Wishful Thinking).

P. S.   I write movie reviews too.

Saw a movie for the first time at Greenbelt 1 (Cinema 2), and I was pleasantly surprised that for only P180.00 per ticket, you get a reserved seat. The cinema was OK--clean floors, well-kept seats, clear projection, good sound system, and decent restroom. I just wished that there were more popcorn flavors apart from buttered and cheese, but small thing, really. Over-all, I was satisfied with my experience, and good thing the movie (Ant-Man) was fun, too! 127909

My friend loves this cinema cause it's way cheaper than greenbelt 3 and glorietta. If it's fine with you to compromise your overall movie experience for extra 50 pesos in your pocket then Greenbelt 1 cinemas is OK. But if you cannot tolerate low quality screen and sound system you better not try this theater.

It has cheaper tickets than the rest of the cinemas around. For P170, it's not bad but the seats aren't gradually elevated so if someone taller than the seat is seated in front, you can see the person's head which obstructs your view. Thank goodness he went into a slouching position once the movie started.

There's also not much choice in terms of snacks, so I suggest you buy elsewhere.
