My friends and I had dinner at Gudo on a weeknight! We all live somewhat near the area, so no trouble meeting up here... My friend was pretty curious because she met the owner at a market, so she suggested the place...

Let me say it now: they have no parking slots. You will have to leave your car on the side of the road. No official parking attendants either...

But the restaurant itself was pretty simple yet pleasant... Open-air dining, so might not be bearable in the sweltering heat of the afternoon... It has two floors and tables set-up on the sidewalk as well... Wouldn't want to occupy those seats though, so the three of us were lucky when we got a table on the second floor...

We were handed a simple menu with thin crust pizzas, pastas, steaks and peri-peri chicken listed... They don't serve alcohol btw (128546), but they have sodas and iced tea... Everyone was in a pizza-pasta mood that night, so we got their Gudo and margherita pizza plus the Alfredo pasta... We actually got the Gudo pizza only at first, but since their pizza has a thin crust, one pasta and pizza was a bit bitin for three people.

The Gudo pizza had olives, pepperoni, beef, bell peppers and onions... Their everything on it pizza! I liked it more than the margherita... But both were pretty good! The crust was tasty and the ingredients were highlighted because of the thin crust! Surprisingly good for a cheap price!128077🏻 The chicken Alfredo pasta was a bit bland, but a bit of pepper and a pinch of salt improves the taste immensely! I suggest you guys skip the iced tea though!

The staff were friendly and helpful enough... No trouble with the water, the food, the drink, and the bill... Oh, and the place doesn't have air conditioning but it was well ventilated... The food smell doesn't stick to you after dining!128077🏻

We were lucky to get a parking space near the resto and good thing it wasn't as jammed pack like on the weekends.

We got a chance to try this resto out. We ordered Bacon and Onions (150pesos) and Chicken Alfredo (135pesos). I really liked the Alfred because it was creamy and the firmness of the pasta was just right for it work perfectly.

Everything on the menu are pretty affordable. 128519

The food is consistently delicious. We have been to this place a couple of times, and the way the steak is cooked has never failed us.

*Palatability*
Steak P175
The serving is big. You get an option of pairing it either with steamed rice or mashed potato. We got ours medium well and it was prepared based on my preference. Pieces served has good marbling, thus tasted really good.

Bacon and Onion Pizza P150
I loved how the white cheese perfectly complimented our bacon and onions. Served in thin crust. Used cornmill flour for the dough.

Iced Tea P50
Iced tea is served in a pitcher, and is good for sharing for 4 people. Need to request for extra ice though, as the juice always come out extra sweet.

*Price*
With the quality of food they serve, I consider this cheap and one of the great foodie finds! With a budget for as low as P150 per head, you can enjoy a sumptuous meal!

*Personality*
The restaurant's ambiance is homey. With its rustic interiors, I feel like dining at my own home.
The place is open air which may be both good and bad. Good because this will allow the scent of the char of the grilled meat doesnt fully stick to your body. This also ensures that the place is a No Smoking resto. The problem though is that our tropical weather makes this place not conducive for eating at lunch time, when the sun is on its happiest state of showering sunlight.
The crew is also quick to respond and is able to really look after their guests.

Got the T-bone steak, asked the waiter to cook it Medium Well. They served it well done, ugh. The meat was so hard to slice. My boyfriend got their peri peri chicken and it was alright.

Gudo is like my go to place when I crave for steak. Located in the outskirts of congressional avenue, this place is really easy to miss. Thankfully a friend pointed it out and tried it.

Menu only includes pizza, pasta, steaks and peri-peri chicken. I really love their t-bone steak here. Cooked over charcoal and topped with an amazing herb butter that amplifies the smoky taste. You can pair it with a scoop of mashed potato or rice. Their mashed potato is okay also but not to die for. It is soft and creamy and has hints of rosemary. Although their slices are rather thin and they like cooking their steaks on the rare side it really fills me up. Be sure to ask for well done steaks since their medium well/medium rare are chewy rather than butter-like soft. For 175 pesos per steak and additional 15 pesos for gravy (i always ask seconds) my tummy and my wallet are happy.

Gudo used to have a small place only able to fit 5 groups of people but since they renovated i think they can fit 10-15 groups now. There's no aircon so this place is only open for dinner. Nonetheless i really enjoy the rustic feel of the place with their no fuss tables made of planks and jar mugs. There is no definite parking so you'd have to park on the street. During 7-8, sometimes they'd ask you to wait for tables. Im not sure if that has happened since the renovation.

Hopefully if you read this review, i dont have to compete with you for space at this awesome place.

It blendedly well with the mashed potato and their gravy is also A ok.(though an extra gravy has an addtl price).. Their periperi chicken is a must too to order...it tastedly good..the gudo pizza is perfect because its thin and the simple toppings make it good too eat..the price of the food is affordable and the ambience on the upper deck is nice too though a little bit crumpy..over all it is a place to try to those who lived nearby congressional...

Ate here a while ago and had to be really quick in this steak-periperi- pasta and pizza house.
Street parking
Place is small (15 pax)
Place has smoke all over

Loud music

Ordered a medium rare tbone but was cooked almost well done
Mashed potato was with all purpose flour mixture
Loved the mushroom gravy though
The meat was tough

I asked for bill and was 'wth' cause i was given the wrong bill
CR is scary and dirty

I need to leave asap or else i would smell like grill and sweat.
Bye.
Not returning.

T-Bone steak for Php175 and White Pesto thin crust pizza! Affordable good food. A few takeaways though -- no parking area, just the side street and the resto area is small so you get to fall in a queue of hungry patrons :)

Everybody now knows Maginhawa as the Eat Street. Then there is Malingap street...not as huge as Maginhawa but restaurants there are popping like mushrooms. Now, there is Congressional avenue.

The place is starting to be like another Eat Street. Interesting restaurants are starting to emerged including Gudo.

A close friend of mine said they have delicious steak, yummy pizza, great pasta and Peri-Peri Chicken.

The place was semi-open and it was a bit small. But by the look if the customers, I am sure the food are worth the wait.

Unluckily, they ran out if steak when I went there so I ordered Peri-Peri Chicken.

It was not that bad but it is not my cup of tea. Luckily, I was able to try some of their Spaghetti with Meatballs. It was really tasty.

Next time, I hope I could try that steak and their pizza too. In case the place is packed and could not get a seat right away, I will definitely order steak and pizza and probably pasta to go. I just want to know if it is really good like what they say it is.

Gudo is just really an amazing 'hole in the wall' place to be. You really wouldn't mind the location/ambiance because their food will definitely blow your minds and taste buds off! My super favorite is their pizza. I am really a food critic when it comes to pizza. I must say that so far.. their pizza topped all of the pizzas I have ever tasted. 128076

Gudo is my 'go to' place whenever I crave for pizza and pasta. I won't mind a 15-20mins drive...not at all!

Just one advice, make sure to arrive a little early than the usual lunch/dinner time. The place can get packed with hungry customers and you might have to really wait in line to be seated. But I promise that it's really worth the wait! 128521

I love their pizza! Steak and the chicken is great too and they come in very affordable price. Altough the place is very small. Best time to visit them is between 2-5pm. :)

Took my wife for dinner date at this petite restro. We ordered the chicken and T Bone steak. The price is very reasonable, serving is big (look at the picture), tender and yummy. Only down side is the fumes and noise from the vehicles outside. Over all 4 Star for me.

It was my first time to try this hole-in-a-wall resto located near our village. I ordered their T-Bone Steak (175php) and White Pesto Pizza (125php) for take-out. Man! Their White Pesto Pizza is the bomb! For reaaaal! Plus, their Pitcher of House Iced Tea costs 50php and it tastes good! Good thing, Gudo's just a tumbling away from where we live. Like literally! 128514
