The grandfather of yakiniku places in Manila. They've been around for a reaaally long time. When I finally got to try Gyumon, I found the cuts and the quality of the beef to be very good. Order the gyu tan set to get 3 different cuts of delicious marinated beef. Their kimchi tofu nabe (essentially Korean kimchi chigae) makes an excellent side dish to the yakiniku and so does the other side options like seaweed, bean sprouts, kimchi, and spinach.

I've been a very good boy since the turn of the year. I went from being 213lbs after the Holidays to being 188lbs (as of Feb 21). I've been following a strict diet and active lifestyle so whenever I get the chance to spend a weekend in Manila, I try to eat good quality food as much as possible.

We've heard good reviews about this place so Blanca R and I have decided to give it a try. I'm very glad we did because this place is awesome!

We tried the Ox Tongue and Jo Karubi (Beef Short Rib) with Japanese rice on the side. The experience was very good as we got to cook the high-quality meat ourselves so we have control over the doneness. I never knew the already awesome Lengua can taste even better!

I would really recommend the Jo Karubi to anyone as the quality and taste of the meat is as good as the beef cubes of Kikufuji! If you'd ask me which I would choose between Jo Karubi of Gyumon or Beef Cubes of Kikufuji, it will just depend on which restaurant is closer!

The next time you're having a bad day, go to this place and order a whole plate of Jo Karubi just for yourself. You deserve it ;)

The place is really small and has a maximum capacity of around 20 people. We were extremely lucky it wasn't too crowded when we visited.

We ordered two servings of the beef barbecue set or Gyu Santen (P950 each), a plate of Korean pancake or Chijimi (P280), and Bibimbap (P330) on top of the usual staples.

The beef set was just enough for our family of 5. It was simple yet delicious -- typical for Korean and Japanese barbecue.

The pancake and the Bibimbap were both just average in terms of taste. However, I think it's worth pointing out that the Bibimbap had a huge serving which would definitely justify the price.

This place is a little expensive (don't forget the 15% service charge). Be prepared to shell out around P500 per person.

I used to love eating here until this evening... I got sick not from their food but from other customer's cigarette smoke. It's a small place and they allowed guests to eat and tables are just arms apart.

Well the food was ok I think you won't go wrong with Japanese Yakiniku...their grill is smokeless but I just wish it's totally smoke free.... I think I'll like the smoke from the grill than from guests' cigarette smoke.

As for the price.... regular beef set cost 950 and the seafood set is 850. It comes with free cabbage salad and cold house tea; yakinori cost 150 ( it's a bit bitter though).

My go-to place for good old Japanese bbq in Manila. We've been coming back here ever since i was 15 years old, whenever we crave "yakiniku". The beef is just RIGHT in all aspects, i suggest you order the "jo karubi" and "gyu tan" they are a sure win 128077 it goes perfectly well with kimchi and yaki nori (toasted seaweed).

its a bit pricey though, one plate of jo karubi costs 530 php but the price is definitely worth every penny. To be honest, this is the only yakiniku place we go to 128077128518
