We used to frequent their branch in Ortigas Home Depot despite parking issues. This was our first time in the Greenhills branch. Parking was an issue as well. There were about 4 slots and double parked pa.

We settled into our seats after heading up the flight of stairs. We ordered our regular dishes, Butter Garlic Shrimp and Hainanese Fish Rice. The Butter Garlic Shrimps looked sad and didn't smell good. The scent put off my tastebuds. I liked the garlic and the butter. The Hainanese Fish Rice was much smaller than we remembered. It tasted better with the dipping sauce. I loved the flavor of the rice.

The US Angus Rib-eye did not look impressive. It tasted great though and I liked the sauce which tasted like steak drippings and butter. Not a fan of the rice and the fat though. My mom liked this so much and exclaimed that this dish saved the meal.

It was a weeknight and the place was not packed. Aside from us, there was just one table that was occupied. Despite this, the server seemed preoccupied. She had her back to us most of the time and faced the open kitchen. I returned a sticky knife to her and asked for a new one. She came back with a spoon and a fork. When she served the Hainanese Fish, she accidentally dropped the bowl of rice. It got turned upside down. Some fell on the fish but most of it fell on the placemat and table. She apologized, quickly fixed things and cleared the mess. The rice was replaced but they just brushed off the pieces that fell on the fish.

The food failed to win me over. Service needs improvement. It was a hefty price to pay given what we experienced but plus points for the staff who let us leave our car there while we had ice cream at Carousel Creamery. There was one other available slot anyway and when we cane back there were 2 slots.

As a near ambassador of the Hai Chix and Steaks' first branch (figuratively speaking, of course), due to my many and mostly glowing reviews of their Ortigas branch, I finally got their other branch in Missouri St, Greenhills earlier today with my Sundate--- my Mom. 128516

Straight to the point... steak, as the resto's name implies, people go to Hai Chix and Steaks for the STEAK! Quality US Angus Ribeye steak, this time cooked medium rare, seared outside and pink inside. They present their steaks, whether Ribeye or the bigger Porterhouse, sliced and topped with toasted fat. We ordered the 330 g Ribeye, now worth P1,450. It used to be P1,100 in its earlier days, but it is still worth the price of admission. This is the first time i asked them to make it medium rare. And it was delightfully soft, well seasoned, moist and absolutely delicious. I've been on a steak phase the past few weeks, having gone to Atelier Vivanda, Japanese Wagyu and Buta+Wagyu (all pending reviews 128517128560128549)...hahaha. Enough to share with another dish or two. This comes with their awesome steak rice and corn & carrots. Option for fries but you NEVER give up the steak rice! 5/5 rating.

Hanger Steak and Shrimp Pasta, drenched in garlic and olive oil, fettuccine pasta. Good and delicious, but lacking in olive oil, felt a bit dryer than it should be. P330, about 3 pieces of medium cooked hanger steak and 3 pieces of shrimp, think like their best selling butter garlic shrimp but just placed with pasta. Lol. All 3 of their pastas are conveniently made with olive oil so they keep their pantry simpler. Hai Chix also features great other dishes (check their menu or my other previous reviews in their other branch). A solid 3/5

The place is much bigger than their MC Home Depot branch but retains its industrial casual dining feel. Aircon was okay, not cold enough. It wasn't full when we went, in fact there were only 2 tables occupied. Glad they dropped the counter order for this branch as it was not a good fit to the food and price range of Hai Chix. Expect to spend P500 or up per head here. I guarantee it'll be worth it. Parking's a bit tight, having only 5 or so slots outside and sharing it with Wine Depot and two banks. Service was good today. Friendly and attentive staff. Kitchen did our dishes fast as well as accurate. Except for the slightly dry pasta and kulang sa lamig aircon, it would have been perfect.

Btw, expect their 3rd branch to open soon in Salcedo, Makati. Their first attempt in Makati, at Jazz Residences, did not fare so well. Being smack in the thick of the action should do this resto better justice than on the outskirts. Good luck.

Can't believe this was the first #teamClingy big group eat up for 2016. Were we all that busy this first quarter?! 128517 just glad everyone decided to try Greenhills area para maranasan na Rin Ng south peeps and hininakit naming north and east peeps. Hahaha.

We finally got to try Hai Chix and Steaks. I've always been a fan ever since I tried their Ortigas branch. This was the first time I visited their Greenhills branch and I was pleasantly surprised. It's way way bigger and more luxurious than their first branch. The pad reminds me of a hipster London Resto with the minimalist architecture but lots of good fixtures, black board, unique finds, and the hanging Christmas lights. Everything worked. The only thing that didn't work was the food photos because the lighting was too intimate haha. But it's all good. We managed to get some good snaps.

As for the food, i liked everything! My top dishes were:
128073🏼 HaiChix porterhouse steak 1.2kg
- for P 3,200, you get 1.2kg of scrumptious meat perfectly cooked rate and drenched with crispy fried fat (yes, you read it right). 128561 definitely not for those on a diet or those with high cholesterol but damn it, this dish is sooooo good 128525128525
128073🏼 butter garlic shrimps
- a little bitin for me but I've always enjoyed this. Savory, delectable, and perfect with their bread. 128523

Everything was just so good. And when I thought the night was perfect already, I was surprised to know team clingy had a small post birthday surprise for me. Aww you guys. 128557 thanks for the wine and the awesome card. You know me all too well 127863128521. Thanks for being awesome Yina M Kirby G Chichi T Carla M Julie J Jenn N Zia M Gio C Dastine S and Reg!

Definitely a very fun night filled with so much laughter and so much good food! 128076🏼

Ps: if you're looking for the Resto, it's near the building of chili's and Starbucks near Gloria Maris. You might miss it as its on the second floor and the entrance is via a staircase beside a wine shop. So you have to keep your eyes open when finding this place.

To summarize (like what I do in my IG chubbyperohappy):

Went to Greenhills with my mom and sister to buy stuff but since we were already hungry, we decided to have lunch first. Can't think of any new restaurants to suggest so I asked if they wanted to try Hai Chix.

I was here a week ago with #TeamClingy but I only got to try the porterhouse steak and butter garlic shrimp. I’m kinda curious about their Hainanese Chicken Rice because I heard it is one of their specialties.

Mom and I ordered the Hainanese Chicken Rice while my sister opted for the Breakfast Style Steak Tapa. She wanted the chicken rice too but she prefers it roasted than steamed. Unfortunately they only serve steamed or fried. :(

The chicken was deboned, served with three dipping sauces- pounded ginger, chili sauce and dark soy sauce, and chicken rice. The chicken tasted pretty good but not as flavorful as I expected it to be. I would've wanted it with soup like how they serve it in Singapore. For my dipping sauce, I made my own combination of dark soy sauce and ginger. Weird ba?! Haha!

My sister’s Breakfast Style Tapa was cut in strips and served with fried egg on the side. I asked her if it was good, she answered “Lasang tapa!” but she also mentioned that the chicken rice didn't complement the tapa. Better if they serve it with garlic or plain rice.

It has been a while since #TeamClingy gathered around a table and laugh, eat, take food photos, and eat (in no particular order). So since JP G. will leave us for his career *teary eyed*, we finally push it through.

Hai Chix & Steaks in San Juan isn't easy to see as they are on the second floor of a building in front of Gloria Maris. So just take that as you're guide.

To start with, we had Butter Garlic shrimp, man, this is sooo good you'll wish you have more bread to smother it with butter garlic. We didn't take much of their dishes, and focus mainly on their steak.

So we got the USDA Porterhouse Steak which is actually good for sharing (like 6 people in one plate) We made it rare to fully spoil our taste buds and swim with happiness in their delectable dish.

Oh, and did I mention they have steak rice too? Perfect combination for that steak, right?

Their store has this fancy vibe so this is a prefect date place and/or barkada meetup as well or just a me-time is fine. Haha They really don't care, as long as you'll be satisfied.

#Teamclingy's first eatup this year was at Hai Chix and Steaks' relatively new branch in Missouri, Greenhills in celebration of THE ChubbyPeroHappy's (JP G) birthday and despedida. Knowing that place isn't really super spacious in terms of parking, we just parked at the mall and walked over.

The place looks like one of those New York apartments on tv with an industrial touch, complete with the brick walls, pipes as decor on the walls, and old-timey lightbulbs providing a warm glow as you dine.

These guys specialize in Hainanese Chicken and Steak, hence the name. Since we were all hungry and had been waiting long due to traffic, we ordered a few appetizers and 2 orders of their biggest Porterhouse.

The chicken wings were okay, nothing really special. Just enough to pass the hunger.

The garlic shrimp though was really good. We used the bread to soak up as much oil and garlic to eat with the shrimp. Really tasty stuff here. 128077

Next up was the steak, served rare and topped with toasted garlic and toasted fat (omg). The steak was really juicy and flavorful, no need for gravy or anything. My only concern was really how much I could eat, since I was afraid it might affect my hypertension... It was totally worth it though.

In totality, I would recommend coming here, but better for special occasions or with a group since it can get pricey (The steak will set you back a few thousand bucks).

Great to see everyone again! Carla M, Yina M, Zia M, April H, Jenn N, Kirby G, Chichi T, Julie J

First get together with #teamclingy for 2016...Can't believe the first 3 months flew by so fast....everyone was busy with work, studying, traveling & personal stuff... It was really hard for us to even schedule this get together 128514 We were missing Neil R Eunice S & Ruth A who were all unavailable 128542

More than for an eat up & catch up session, this surprise not so surprise get together was to celebrate JP G's birthday & despedida.... 2 in 1 128514 After a fairly lengthy back & forth on whatsapp , we collectively decided to deviate from our usual BGC and Makati venues and decided on Greenhills for a change... Needless to say, Traffic was horrific on a Friday night but we all got there in one piece, some later than the others 128514

Jp did the ordering and got 2 orders each of :

•• Butter & Garlic Shrimp (sorry no pic, gone in 60 seconds since we were all starving) - 4/5

•• Buffalo Wings - 3/5 - was okay.

•• US Angus Porterhouse Steak - Done rare (although it was still overdone IMO) and served with steak rice & corn... 4:5 Pretty good 128523 Soooo sinful though with fat trimmings on top... Cholesterol alert!!! Lipitor please 128517

Service was pretty good, the staff were all very accommodating and we were quite a rowdy bunch 128513 I'm sure we must have bothered some of the other customers there 128514

Good food & laughter with this crazy bunch is always good for the soul...128156 An epic night as usual, till next time Chichi T Yina M Gio C & Reg Zia M Carla M Jenn N Kirby G April H Dastine S.
Good luck Jp on this new chapter, we love you! 128536 #Teamclingy Cebu eatup next!!! 128514128123

Trying out the nice new feature... Yay for multiple photos! 128077🏼128079🏼

I seriously did not realize that the first quarter of the year is almost done and we haven't gone out to eat yet! Adult life has crept up on us, plus out of country trips too. But you know what, when you have true and tested friends, it won't feel like you haven't spent time together for a few weeks. This is the perfect time to say #blessed. 128519

It was JP G's birthday last week, but schedules were crazy and we all had prior engagements. But of course, we have to push through with surprising THE chubbyperohappy! It was a celebration for his birthday, plus his despedida as well.

It was our first time to have an eatup in Greenhills, as we're always either in Makati or BGC. We let JP choose where to eat this time. Of course he went with his favorite--Hai Chix! And guess what, he made the perfect choice! 128076🏻

We all braved the traffic and parking space shortage that night, all for the love of steak!128514

For starters, JP ordered Butter & Garlic Shrimps, and Buffalo Wings. The shrimps were very plump and fresh, and the garlic oil was perfect for the bread they served it with. The buffalo wings were okay too, but the butter dip was too rich for me. Both were good, but I will not order this next time and save the stomach space for the steak.

The star of the night was their Porterhouse Steak (yes, ikaw na rin JP hahaha!), which is actually good for 3. We had it cooked rare, so that we can have it reheated if we go overboard again with taking pictures..which was always the case. Hahaha! We did not have it reheated this time, though. I guess everyone was too hungry and excited to eat!

It was perfectly cooked, and I really enjoyed it even if it was a bit cold. The steak was made more sinful by the fried fat trimmings and heavenly oil that came with the steak. I forgot to mention, the steak was served with 3 cups of steak rice and corn. Personally, I do not like the steak rice as it tasted like rice with Knorr seasoning to me.

I want to go back and try their Hainanese Chicken!

We were lucky that the other customers did not complain about our noise. It was really evident that we missed each other very much! It was another night of fun, laughter, and love for each other.

Thank you for the fun night Kirby G Dastine S Yina M April H Carla M Zia M Julie J Chichi T Gio C, and Reg! Next time dapat complete na ang NFFs!!! 128514

We missed you Ruth A, Neil R, Eunice S!

Hope you liked our surprise JP G! 128536 We love youuu!10084

Everyone was too busy adulting and I can't believe this is the first time we were able to have an eatup as a group this year (we missed you Neil R Eunice S Ruth A).

Team Clingy planned a surprise post- birthday celebration and despedida for THE CHUBBYPEROHAPPY JP G. 128540 Took us a while to decide where but after shortlisting the possible venues, majority agreed to have dinner at Hai Chix in Greenhills. I almost didn't make it due to work but luckily, I ended up early and was able to rush to Greenhills. I had to endure the two hour EDSA traffic from Makati. Things you do for friends and food. Whew. 128514

JP took charge of ordering the food since he’s the one who’s frequently here. We got two orders each of three different dishes to share.

Buffalo Wings – skipped this because it’s fried but they seemed to enjoy it. Chichi said it's good.

Butter Garlic Shrimp – I liked it!! Really flavorful. The combination of butter and garlic was perfect for the sweet, plump shrimps.

US Porterhouse Steak – menu states that this is good for three, but two orders were able to feed 11 people! We requested that they cook it rare since we know it’ll take us a long time to finish taking photos. Their steak is made more sinful by serving it with crispy steak fat and trimmings on top. 128563 It was yummy, but it could be more tender. The steak rice that was served with was good!

So happy to catch up with #TeamClingy again! Perfect way to cap off a stressful, busy week. I missed you guys Jenn N Kirby G Chichi T Julie J Yina M Zia M Gio C (and Reg) Dastine S April H 128513

Get together with #TeamClingy tonight!128515

Our first dinner as a big group for 2016... Everybody has been pretty busy with their own thing lately, but we took the time to get together for a special occasion... And as always, it was noisy, hyper, nonsensical and basically fun!128515

We arrived in crops to the restaurant, all waging their own battle with the metro traffic... If you guys ever want to visit this place, it's along Missouri St. Just across from Gloria Maris and in between the Salad Stop/Carousel Creamery building and Starbucks. It's on the second floor with Wine Depot on the ground floor. Careful, it's pretty easy to miss!128513

I got there late and I was really thankful to find appetizers already served... The team ordered the Asian Soy Glaze Wings, which is not your typical wings flavor. Crisp on the outside with an Asian inspired batter, you dip this in a vinegar mixture. Light taste and a welcome change from the typical buffalo wings. I love their Butter Garlic Shrimp!128525 Butter and garlic together automatically makes magic! This dish is very generous with garlic flakes and you will have to stop yourself from dipping bread into that rich sauce... Good!128515

For the piece de resistance, the US Angus Porterhouse served with steak rice and corn... Such a glorious sight as the platter was served... I was excited to sink my teeth into that tender and very juicy steak... A meat lovers' piece of heaven...

I must hand it to the staff, who were so nice and accomodating to the big group of crazy, noisy people who took over their dining area. 128522

I've heard of this restaurant years back, but i never got the chance to go to their 1st branch because it was too far from home. I didn't even know that they opened a branch in Missouri st., until a friend of mine invited us for brunch there.

I was really excited to try out their Hainanese chicken, because i was told that it's really really good. So i did. I ordered HAINANESE CHICKEN RICE (Php 245), chicken was moist and tender. Ginger sauce was a so so. The rice was good. I would honestly say that i've tasted better, but it's not bad too. It just wasn't the best one i've ever had. I think it needs to improve a little bit more on the ginger sauce and there was something lacking in the chicken, like a flavor of some sort. I think they should have rubbed the chicken with a generous amount of salt first to give it more flavor, then add salt to the boiling water where the chicken was boiled in with it's stuffing (ginger and green onions). The process of picking out a chicken to how it was cooked greatly affects the taste of the food. I guess improving a little bit on that could make it taste even better.

Ohh i also got to try some of their soups too. My friend ordered a bowl of PRAWN BISQUE (Php 200), which was really good as you can really taste the flavors of the shrimps. I say this because not all restaurants would serve a bisque with full on added shrimp flavors in the soup. Most would just boil a few shrimp heads just to say make it shrimp bisques, but you can't really taste the flavors from the shrimp head that much because they might not have used enough. As for the CURRY LAKSA SOUP (PHP 200), i was the one who ordered it because i was craving for it. This laksa soup was really chili. I had to drink a lot of water while eating this. The laksa didn't have that rich creamy taste i was looking for. It was technically just a so so for
me.

The first time I tried Hai Chix, I had the Japanese Steak Rice. The steak slices themselves were yummy, but when eaten with the Japanese rice the steak flavor gets overpowered. So I thought I'd give the paella a try this time.

Nah. Same story. The steak here is definitely best eaten solo.

We also had the fried hainanese chicken. This is kinda funny... As a fried hainanese chicken, theirs is quite a failure. The chicken did not taste like hainanese at all. Turned out, the rice was the hainanese part of the dish.

But! The chicken, for what it actually was, tasted really great! In fact, I loved it. The skin was cripsy, the chicken meat was flavorful and soft. The portion size was perfect for two. I would definitely order this again. They should've called this fried chicken with hainanese rice... Or maybe they did and I just didn't read the menu correctly?

I planned to try the dessert but was too full by the end of the meal. Maybe next time.

The service was great too, btdubs. The staff was very friendly. It was a slow Saturday night - there really was no evening rush - which I hope doesn't remain the case for too long.

Hainanese Chicken and Steak under one roof?! Mmmm...Finally got to try this place last week and it was worth the visit 128522

128204 Hainanese Chicken Rice @280 - pretty good and it's boneless 128077🏼 tasty rice too and the sauce that came with was awesome.

128204 Shrimp in Balsamic Pasta @295 - if you like your pasta with a tarty sweet flavor, then this is a good one to order, my sister seemed to enjoy it a lot..

128204 Breakfast Steak Tapa Rice @295 - was ok, typical tapa meal fare

128204 Salt and Pepper Calamari @220 - this one was a miss, didn't like it much, too oily and overdone 128529

Overall, we were happy with the food, the place is cozy and the service was good...I didn't get to sample the steak this time around, but from what I've heard and read, it's pretty good.. Something I'll come back for soon 128522

I do not mind paying for relatively expensive food as long as the quality lived up to its price. Sadly, this place was not one of them. Every dish was bland and was literally swimming in oil, the worst of it being the Hanger Steak and Shrimp Pasta which was even server-recommended. I've read that the steaks here are the one's worth coming for, but after that dining experience I'm afrad I'm no longer interested in going back.

Finally! After years of JP G recommending this restaurant, my bf and I were able to try it just this afternoon... A belated birthday celebration, just the two of us...

So we were there just as they opened for dinner service at 530pm... We were so early due to our 7pm movie screening... HC&S was pretty hard to find actually... It's the building across Gloria Maris, right before the block with Starbucks and Chili's... There's a wine store on the first floor and you have to go up a flight of steps to reach the entrance of Hai Chix...

It was such a simple yet cozy ambience-- with wooden tables and mix matched chairs, comfy couches along one side of the restaurant... Blackboards were set up with the menu written on them... A black and white color theme with red accents tied it all together... We had the restaurant to ourselves for awhile and it was kind of nice...128522

We immediately ordered the 650g Angus ribeye steak, medium well... This is why we came here and this is one of their claims to fame... It's good for two people and it comes with 2 bowls of steak rice and buttered corn... I was good with that already, but my bf insisted on getting the hanger steak and shrimp pasta... I just went with it...

The steak and shrimp pasta came first... Loved it... 128525 Lots of garlic and chili flakes with tender hanger steak and perfectly cooked shrimp... This dish is something I would totally come back for...

Right as we were about to finish the pasta, the ribeye came... Sight to behold. Rivals Mamou's, definitely! 128522 It was a perfect medium well, slightly pink in the middle and very juicy... My bf and I thought it was really really good... The quality of the steak really came thru... The rice was so flavorful as well... Perfectly paired with rice and corn! Serving size was generous, may even be shared by 3 people if you aren't that hungry... It's relatively cheaper in comparison to other good steak joints... I also like that they have other options for diners who may want something other than steak...

Servers were very attentive, wifi was fast, bathroom was clean... I couldn't ask for a better experience... Highly recommended!128077🏻
