Greenhills/San Juan area is one of the best place for Chinese seafoods restaurant. For my Brothers birthday he chose Hai Kang. Since this is one of the best and cheaper compared to Gloria Maris, Choi's Garden and Xiu.

We got a luriat style dinner. 1st up was the shredded chicken mango salsa. This is one of my favorite appetizer good mix of savory cold cuts and sweet mango. For 1st timer in Hai Kang make sure to order this for your cold cuts. After that dish after dish came out immediately. Suahe was fresh sweet good. I don't mind the hassle of peeling one by one the shrimp. It was just worth it. The chinese noodle was delicious my moms favorite. 2 way peking duck. I love the duck soup very relaxing light soup. The highlight was crab on top of sticky rice. Big fat crabs yummy!!! The free avocado sago was a avocado version of the typical mango sago. It was creamy slush unlike the mango sago. This is a great new version of the old mango sago and it tasted good.

Overall two thumbs up!128077128077

Seemed un spunach like), steamed lapu-lapu, scallop brocolli, the best sweet and sour
Pork, buchi and almond dessert... Always good.

Finally had the chance to eat here as this place can get really crowded. In all fairness, the food was great and it was cheaper by 1-2k than the fancy Gloria Maris restaurant which costs us 9-10k (group of 5) every time we visit. The only complaint we had at that time was their poor air-conditioning system. Just Imagine our sweat when we tried to drink our bowl of soup. Lol. But we let it pass since we had a great time with the food. Overall it was an excellent gastronomic experience. 128077

My go to place...

Service: 128077128077128077 manager/owner always around to take care of guests

Ambiance: parking can be a drag. When you go inside it's your typical Chinese seafood restaurant.

Food: it's one of the finest in the metro and good price too. They have set meals for 6-8 pax or 10-12 pax that's roughly between 5000-8000.

Their shrimps, crabs, lapu lapu etc is always yummy.

Late post

Attended a family gathering last month , owner is a family friend ... Not plugging

But food's always fresh & price reasonable, big servings & very authentic

Service is good too

Some of the food we always orders... Not sure of the exact name

Suckling pig
Live garoupa with light soy (see on pic)
Bamboo pith soup
Cold cuts (as seen on pic )
Suahe (shrimp .. Not on pic)
Crab with salted egg
Crab & egg fooyong
Spinach seafood soup
And many more ... Too many to mention & can't recall the names 9786

Parking is the only problem ( Sunday lunch) so I less 1 star

typical chinese resto for the budget conscious. in other words, affordable real chinese cuisine.

cool aircon, friendly staff, lots of chinese people eating (meaning if you're chinese, you'll see friends eating there too).

tip: go early so you can park your car near the resto.

Pictured above is the Eel Rice from Hai Kang. I decided to take my order out and have dinner at home with the rest of the family. I wouldn't want to rob them of some this delicious food!

It's a simple dish. Eel cutlets sautéed in black beans and soy sauce topped with generous amount if scallions. I love this dish. Eel is boneless so minimal effort on my part. Just dig in and enjoy.

Unfortunately the eel tonight was a bit tough. So I will be taking away 1 star for that.

It's an authentic Chinese restaurant. The dishes were tasty. It's a bit pricy but that's because of their big serving. The service crew didn't seem very accommodating. But they were able to compensate for their unfriendliness by giving us free dessert! :))
