Hampstead! I love this place. From the booking to checking out I've never felt so taken cared of!
We went the week after the horrible typhoon and we were expecting no electricity, communication signals were down etcetc. But they were prepared with gensets. As for the cellphone signal, it's all good! Vacation time so no mobile is good for you.
The rooms were very pretty! The had artworks everywhere. The photo posted is an artwork in our room. It's an oil painting and they shaped the canvas according to the shape of the painting. I like the fact that the pillows weren't memory pillows. Those things hurt my neck! They provide cookies before bed. I loved them so much they gave me some to take home too.
We had complimentary breakfast everyday. And I must say they make the perfect soft boiled eggs and scrambled eggs I've ever ordered anywhere. Scrambled eggs were well seasoned too! And the garlic rice was amazeballs too I'm very particular about garlic rice. I felt that I had a sulit breakfast every day since I had freshly made mango juice (no added sugar but still sweet), hot chocolate, longganisa with lotsa peppers! And yeap the egg and rice.
They also have a cigar room. Again, amazing art in there! Actually it's a cigar and whiskey room. We didn't get to try it but we plan to visit them again this January.
The staff was commendable! They were so nice! They made it a point to greet us everytime by our first names. The owners too! I love this place. I like it when hotel staff are really maalaga. And the people in Hampstead are
(Side note: the trip from kalibo to caticlan was heart breaking. A lot of schools were without roofs, families fixing their houses and long lines at the money padala stalls and a generally gloomy feeling - on our part anyway. But life goes on! Kids would still wave to us from the street. Iba talaga ang lakas ng kalooban ng mga survivors. Please don't forget to contribute to the relief efforts for our brothers in Visayas. In any way you can!)
