It is Nov 2.
The roads are empty.
Most malls are closed.
Half of Manila is out of town or "staycationing" in their homes.
You cannot cook to save your life.
You need beer.
You need sustenance.
You vow to go on an adventure just to seek out your blessed brew.
You ride the LRT1.
You ride the LRT2.
You want to go to this off beat, hipster place in Anonas.
It is closed.
The owner in his boxer shorts tells you they are closed.
You do not let this minor set back deter you frkm your quest.
You hop a cab, hoping to get to Cubao-X.
The driver is a noob at his profession.
You end up in Marikina.
You text your father the plate number of the taxi you are in. You tell him you love him. You brace yourself for the worst.
Kuta cabbie is not a murderer. he is just new to being a cabbie.
He drops you off at LRT2.
You mentally fall to your knees and thank all tge stars.
You board the LRT 2 and head to Cubao-X.
Everything is closed.
You Tom Cruise power walk to the MRT and catch it as the last train pulls up.
You head to Makati.
You find yourself in a Biker Bar.
You feel the safest you have felt all night amongst the hairy men cheering at the screen while clinking their beers.
Dratf pale 85
Spicy Sausage slices with onion rings 220.
Not the best place in the world (price wise and food wise) but it is the best place tonight.

The baby back ribs were huge and absolutely delicious. The meat was practically falling off the bone. It comes with a side of mashed potatoes - also delicious, the real deal and not that powdered crap. Apart from the mashed potatoes, you also get to put as much coleslaw and veggies/salad that you want on your plate... They have a small salad bar thing where you pile everything on your plate once they give you your plate of ribs. Definitely good value for the price (can't remember exact price but it was 400++).

My friend was going to have a jam session at handlebar and he invited me to come and watch. Since it was one of our rare Friday holidays, we decided to give it a go.
After dinner at Hyatt, we tried going to the fort first for another gig that I wanted too see. As usual, there was no parking available. So after waiting for about ten minutes in line at parkade, we left and headed to handlebar.
It took around 7mins and there was a parking slot right in front! It was my second time at handlebar. I'm not really familiar with big bikes so I found the biking memorabilia on the walls etc very interesting! Even the bathroom had quirky posters inside. Speaking of the bathroom, it was clean, decent, had water and tissue rolls 128077
They had an extensive drink list but not a lot of bar chow (or pica2). More on real meals and the like. I had an amaretto sour which was good and reasonably priced.
I would say the crowd is about 60% pinoy and 40% foreigners. Pretty cool I think, it means they like the service here.
Got to watch Pepe smith, Wally Gonzales, mike hanapol etc for no cover charge! Woohoo!
Nice place, good service and good prices for makati ü

It is the club house of the Mad Dog motorcycle club, so there is always a chance that you see awesome bikes park in front of the bar!
Foods are also delicious mix with great bands-"Rock in Roll".
If you want to have fun, you must visit here! You can watch live sports or play pool with all the foreigners scatter around the place.

TAKE A WALK DOWN POLARIS STREET ALONGSIDE MAKATI AVENUE’S RED LIGHT DISTRICT AND YOU WON’T MISS THOSE BIG SHINY “HOGS” PARKED RIGHT IN FRONT OF A BIG SHINY GRILL, AND BIG DOUBLE DOORS.

Inside It’s more than just a polished up clubhouse of the Mad Dog Motorcycle club, it’s a big, big home for classic rock music lovers and pool players too. Notable blues and rock bands, such as The Jerks and Razorback, play this circuit, and they’ll often throw in a decent cover band for atmosphere (Saf’s band, Load, are worth a look). Fill up on some of the best steaks in town along with your choice between local and imported beers. Don’t forget to swagger on your way to the pool tables, as this is the perfect place to feel like a classic rock star, or if not, you can relax and enjoy the games on the sports channels. Weekday happy hour begins at 9pm, and find help through the street parking attendants. Oh, and keep a look out for the street side baboon… wawa.

Sometimes, it's a bit confusing what Handlebar really is: its name and decor suggests that it's a biker bar, but they're also known for being a sports bar. A lot of people go here to watch football games, boxing matches, tennis matches, and basketball games. They also have a live band playing here once a week, I think. So you see, it's a very eclectic bar. 128522

They've started to operate 24 hours this year, so with or without big sports games to air, they are still open to serve you anything from their menu. 128077

I was hungry one night after coming from the gym, and instead of going to El Chupacabra like I always do, I went to Handlebar instead since it's just a few meters away. I still ordered Mexican food haha. I ordered the sizzling chicken fajitas which come with pita bread, salsa and sour cream sauce. The fajitas were good, albeit a bit oily. It had just the right amount of spiciness!

I was a bit intrigued by what the group at the next table ordered. They all ordered something from "Big John's Barby." It's one of the offerings of Handlebar wherein they would cook your order at the big barbecue grill in front. You can choose from tenderloin, rib-eye, lamb loin cutlets, porkchop, grilled prawns, etc. It is also served with a baked potato, and you can go make your own salad at the salad bar. 128077

This is a good place to go to, to hang out, but just make sure that you are going at the right time, based on your interests. If you're a sports fan, go during a big game; if you're a music lover, go when the live band is playing; if you're a biker, well, go anytime, because you will feel right at home with their biker memorabilia and knick knacks. 128522

Boys will always be boys regardless with their age. At handlebar, you will strongly feel the vibe of pure chill without time stopping because it's 24/7. They host live sports show on their big screens such as football, rugby, basketball, cricket, golf and more. They also have 2 pool tables and a stage where live bands perform. The food is great, they offer cold beer and a wide variety of liquor. If you plan to drink and you're tied of the busy scenes of Fort Eastwood or Greenbelt head over to handlebar and experience what I am talking about

Just had a few beers but the atmosphere was great. Last night was a Rugby game between Wales and Ireland. Didn't get to order though but saw the food - the hooligans seemed happy! :-)
