Because I got takeout I didn't get to take a pic but their Birthday noodles tastes just as yummy as it did ten years ago! Also got the beef with broccoli, Kalyan with garlic, chopseuy and my favorite shrimp hakaw dimsum.

Service was fast but don't expect five-star comforts. Their staff doesn't seem to care too much if you like their food or not.

One thing I really love is Chinese food. I remember when I was a kid, we used to go to this Hap Chang branch in Banawe [not particularly sure if they still exist] and the place was just HEAVENLY. Jampacked with Chinese peeps, the smell of dimsum in every corner , the ambiance was very oriental and the food was awesome.
Recently , I went to Hap Chang Ali Mall branch to rekindle my love for Chinese food and all I can say is that I didn't have a very good experience with them. Of course I had an idea of what I want since I was an avid fan , which was the Salt and Pepper Suahe partnered with Yang Chow Fried Rice. To my disappointment , the shrimp dish i loved is no longer available *sob*. But anyway , I tried settling for another dish and it was an absolute delight. But the thing that I'm concerned about is the place and the service. It was really shabby and not very appealing. The floor was dirty , tables not very neat and it took me ages to get my food. The experience was overall not very good , nevertheless I will still support Hap Chang but I might just go to a different branch. :D

For your everyday fix of Chinese delicacies, you can try this resto.

They serve a variety of dishes from the staple Yang Chow fried rice to the famous Peking Duck. Meanwhile for the more adventurous types, why not try their Jellyfish with Century Egg. ( love this. Haha)

Place: hmm so-so. I hope the kitchen is cleaner than it looks from our table.

Price: reasonable although there are a few pricey items as well i.e. Roasting platter php480.

Food: oh well, you get your fill of MSG. :) not exceptional but not entirely bad either.

Hap Chan is one of my most trusted Chinese restaurants. When I was in college, we would frequent their branch in Malate after school or org meetings. Their YangChow Fried Rice, I think, was the one that captured my heart - lots of shrimp and veggies! It became my standard for this type of fried rice.

We were invited in a birthday get together by one of our relatives and when I learned that the venue was in Hap Chan, even if it's in Cubao and we were from Paranaque, I did not hesitate to go! I mean, that's free food being offered! Come on!

Several dishes were served, to my delight. Of course there was my favorite YangChow and Beef Broccoli. They also served this noodle with some veggie toppings that was too bland I needed to pour some toyomansi with chili to make it appeal. They also ordered for some lemon chicken (which I liked), tofu with fish in a soy based sauce with big chunks of tofu (which I also liked since I'm a tofu fan!), Patatim and buchi. Buuuurrrppppp! Ang sarap ng libre!

Though I missed my staple Chinese Resto order of Taosi Spareribs, got too shy to add in extra order 128540, I didn't really complain at all.

Hap Chan is one of those "go-to" places when I can't think of any place to eat at.

On this particular visit, we tried the Cold Cuts platter which was a pleasant surprise at 300 php. You're given a rather generous serving of beef, pork asado, octopus, lengua with jellyfish strips and century egg in the middle. These were all flavored just right and went well together but the asado stood out the most for me. Serving is good enough for 2-3 people and is best enjoyed with Yang Chow fried rice.
