It's been awhile since I ate ramen. Had the chance to eat another one in this place in Marikina that my director was raving about. It's called Happon Ramen.

The place was small but the Japanese interiors somehow make it cozy. Service was fast. Prices are cheap for a full blast ramen experience. Compared to other ramen houses, theirs are a bit smaller in serving but nevertheless you can actually say that it's worth every penny for a price that's cheap. There were also big slabs of meat.

For the ramen though, I found it fair enough. It wasn't that rich in flavor, soup was not at all milky and brothy, so it kinda lacked taste there. However I liked their gyoza. Delicious and big!

I also had their matcha ice cream with mochi. They do homemade mochis so that's a plus factor buuuuuut...not my typical favorite mochi. Their version was kinda hard to chew and lacked flavor. But the matcha ice cream was good.

Fair enough. 128077🏼

Went all the way to Marikina for this. Traffic and all...

Easy to find since it's in a corner lot. Small space but no big deal since Ramen lovers often eat alone. 128532 (That didn't sound nice 128532)

Excited na ko but... Nope. It tasted like Chicken Mami.. Medyo matabang.. I understand it's not Tonkotsu. It's more of a Shio. Very plain tasting.

The Tamago was a bit overcooked that it was almost hard boiled. Fortunately it was flavored Tamago.

Will I come back? Probably not. Ang layo eh. Pero if within the area and I'm looking for Ramen then why not. Only Ramen in this part of Marikina.

Another must try ramen house in Marikina127836

I heard so much of Happon Ramen House located at 70 cepeda st.corner col divino st, Concepcion Uno Marikina. Opens from 11:00 am to 10:00 pm.

The place was just near the Concepcion High School. The place is small but looks really a Japanese resto. There were parking slot outside don't worry.

Hubby and I got their specialty ramen. Chicken Paitan Chasyu ramen for only 178 pesos and the spicy one is for my daughter Adelheid L because she likes spicy ramen for only 168 pesos. Mom Elaine P got her favorite gyoza for 78 pesos and my son Latrell Joshua L had his favorite Tonkatsu for 98 pesos then just add 30 pesos for the rice. I ordered 5pcs of karaage for 88 pesos only!

The chefs here I think were Japanese that's why the food tasted really good and was so affordable. Must try in Marikina if your looking for a nice and affordable Japanese food127884127886

Read about the gyoza here being really good while also being cheap - and it turns out that the gyoza is actually that - good and really cheap!

Php78 for a 5pc gyoza cooked to perfection! We had to order seconds as 1 order wasn't enough. 128513

It after all was a ramen house so we ordered the Paitan Chasumen, they got the egg right and the also good on the chasu - but ramen is still mainly about the broth and the noodles. This one was pretty average thus the 4 star rating.

The place is actually pretty hard to find, so very good thing for Waze then! I also suggest going on a light time and day as Marikina traffic rarely cooperates and parking is pretty scarce too! The place will only sit 10-12 people hence go on a lean time.

Php340 for ramen and 2 orders of gyoza - yes you read that right! 128077

When my friend suggested me this place I immediately went here.

Food tastes good, fair enough.
One bowl of ramen costs only Php 178
5 pcs gyoza for Php 85

The place accommodates for 20-25 pax I think but it's jam packed already. 128514

I suggest to go there during lean hours. I'm the only customer at 4:30PM. Hahahaha!
