Tried their mango chicken and onion rings, and it did not disappoint. 10084️ wasn't able to finish both because of obvious reasons-- they're serving sizes are generous and good for sharing!

Service was off when we ate here. When we went inside the resto, nobody greeted us or assisted us. So we just sat at a dirty vacant table. It took them a while to clean it and asked for our order. 128078

Food were good but not realllly reallly good. Serving size were all generous. The bbq ribs was tender and very tasty. I liked it actually. I'm just not a fan of bbq sauce. The salad was good but bitin and the crispy tawilis was sad 128527 it's not crispy, at all!!!!! The platter was huge and sulit! 128077

I was suppose to try Bawai's yesterday before I head back to Manila. I already drove all the way to the restaurant when I found out that they're closed on Mondays. 128554

I checked |ooloo app for restaurants that I have not been to but has good reviews. My options were Amoroma Ristorante, Verbena and Hawaiian BBQ. I wanted to go Italian but the facade of amoroma hotel is too eerie. Haha! I decided to drop Verbena because I'd rather have something from the grill.

Hawaiian BBQ is located at the ground floor of The Boutique B&B. The place is unfastened and also has an overlooking view of the lake.

Looking at the menu, prices are a little steep. I was trusting that they serve delicious and filling meals.

LUALUA RIBS
The server said they marinate the meat overnight so this should be blasting with flavors. Well, it did not disappoint. It was a delicious, hefty size ribs. Having it slow roasted made it so tender and swelling with flavor.

KONA's CHICKEN COCO
My friend said that this is Hawaii's lechon manok. The outside was very crisp while the inside was moist and soft. It came with a sauce that was blended with spiced coconut milk. This should not be missed if you plan to visit this place soon.

ISLAND SYLE COCONUT MACNUT SHRIMP
I was almost done with my meal and was checking the menu for some desserts. Sadly, I was not interested with any. I saw a photo of a shrimp though that looks like Tempura and ordered this instead. Pahabol! Shrimps were coated in coconut shreds and macadamia then fried. Though it was fried beautifully, the shrimp however, was not fresh. It was accompanied with a guava sauce that tasted like sawsawan ng fishball. Haha! It was no good at all and I paid P350 for it.

The only disappointment was the shrimp but the other two were really good. Service was okay but needs to work on making sure that they have folks prepped to take orders when a customer steps in. I had to go the the counter and ask if someone's available to take my order because I was settled for already 5 minutes and no one approached me. But just that, the service was fast and the servers were really nice.

I guess reading all the reviews has put my expectations way too high.

In my opinion, there's nothing special with their BBQ. It was served at room temperature but was still very soft that it came off easily from the bone.

It was merely an okay meal for me. I definitely had better BBQ ribs before.

They have the softest and most tender ribs I've had in Manila. Comparable to Tony Romas but at a cheaper price. They also have beautiful presentation and nice ambiance. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in tagaytay.

Our last meal before heading back to Manila!

Honestly, this time around, I did not take note of the dishes as we were starving and had my dad call the shots! 128518 The food was great and the ambiance overlooking Taal was pretty - I would love to stay in this bed & breakfast sometime. 128525

Another resto crossed off my list in Tagaytay!

Key dishes - the Seafood Calamari, Tagaytay's Own and of course, the Hawaiian BBQ Ribs! Worth going back to! 128077128079

Consistency at it's core. No matter where you dine either here or at Boracay, one gets the same delicious Taal's Own (Danggit in a sizzling plate) and Kahlua's Pork Belly wrapped in banana leaves.

after a very tiring 3 day seminar, boyfie treated me for lunch and thought that tagaytay would be a good place to go with this kind weather.

this hawaiian barbecue place attracted us and remembering the good experience I had with their boracay branch, this would be a good place for unclogging my mind.

since we were there on a weekday and past lunch, the parking wasn't a hassle to us. really, timing is a factor.

the interiors and so as the overall architectural design of the place suites more like a fine dining atmosphere, a contrast to their boracay branch that embraces the beach breeze thru their cool interiors of humor statements posted on walls. but maybe the idea of both branches might be to present to their customers what their location has to boast. and they sure know how to do it. the restaurant made sure that every table would have a good view of the taal lake. and lucky us, there was only us and another table so I really appreciated what the place was offering it's diners. an elegant mood matching the cold breeze and wonderful view.

the waiter were very attentive but they were understaff because there points where there was no one to call and no one's attending our needs.

we ordered the pork belly on their special hawaiian marinade, the chicken with their coco touch and the grilled asparagus with cheese sauce and chives. the chicken and belly were disappointing but the asparagus was remarkable as its natural flavor was prominent. the belly didn't have that citrus flavor or sweetness that a pineapple would normally give so maybe the oranges was plated on purpose. the chicken was said to be marinated on a coconut milk so I thought it would taste like the tinupig chicken of palaisdaan but sadly it was only fried and the only coco hint you have is with their gravy. the asparagus as what I've introduced earlier was good as it is because of the natural nuttiness. first bite and you could immediately taste the nutty aroma plus savor the cheesiness and creaminess of the sauce, but sad to say they included the stringy parts of the asparagus so there were times that chewing them were annoying.

would like to try their cauliflower for my next dine.

Could've given this 5 star but -111088️ 'cause we waited so long for our bill when we were the only group left on the restau. :(

It's my birthday today 127880127881 wooooot.. Our first choice was just to pick a restaurant in moa but since my sister stays in cavite, we decided to just have dinner in tagaytay. And since everytime we're in tagaytay, hawaiian bbq is our go-to restau. , we had my birthday dinner celebrated here 127882127882127880127880127880

We had the original hawaiian baby back ricbs, spicy calamari, beef stew, bbq platter and mango crumble (on the pic.) for dessert.

Everything was really good and if you love foods that have just the right spiciness, go for the spicy calamari and a must-try beef stew 128077128077128077 we loved it all. For the dessert, the serving of mango crumble was good for 2-3 persons :)

We loved our dinner 1008410084128523127880127881127882

Hawaiian BBQ for dinner.

Delicious ribs! So juicy and tender. 128539

Almost every dish they serve has pineapple in it. No wonder this place is called Hawaiian Bar-B-Que.

If you're a fan of succulent and perfectly flavored glaze ribs, Hawaiian BBQ is the place to go! Although quite far (no branches in Metro Manila but in Tagaytay and Boracay), it's definitely worth the drive. Their pork ribs are sooooo good! A lot better than their beef ribs for me. It has the right balance of sweet and BBQ and cooked to perfection! Makes you want to eat a lot of it. Haha! Great place to check out if you're in Tagaytay.

Great tasting back ribs famously known from boracay also available in tagaytay. Ribs are tender and falls off the bone! Potatoes with sour cream and coleslaw from hawaiian bbq are best paired with the ribs for a wonderful dinner date overlooking the lake :)
Great food, great resto and good service, an overall wonderful experience :)
