Cooper loves HEAT because he's free of charge. Lol 128513

HEAT (which stands for healthy eating amazing tastes) is located at EDSA Shangri-La. They also serve ala carte but I think most people come here for the buffet. :)

I think they have about 10 to 12 buffet areas that caters your cravings. 128525 From bread to soup, from roasts to stews, from food right off the grill, pasta and pizza, dimsum, different asian food, desserts and more.

I think I got a bit of everything. lol 9996
It's my 2nd time here and It's still the same. 128077
Very good food + Very good service.

The japanese, dessert and coffee areas are my favorite. 10084

BUT....

The price is EXPENSIVE. 128176128184128179
I don't really know the exact price but when we ate there, we paid 17,000 for 13 persons but we have like 4 senior citizens so 17k is discounted already.

Today is special day and celebrating this day here is very fitting. For sure i can never taste all the food in the buffet table i will only try what is not common to me this place serve the best chesse i like cold cuts hams etc. The japanesse table is perfect sepcially the sushi and sashimi. The seafood section have curacha i love it with sweet and spicy sauce. Others are also good desserts is too much to choose and i have only little room for it i tried the cakes but the lava cake is too strong for me and my favorite pinoy foods are differently great. You can never go wrong in shangrila exceptional service great place and food and surprisingly this month their buffet dinner is discounted 1500 only. For sure i will return here to try other dishes.

Had breakfast here this morning. It's among the better breakfast buffet offerings of our local hotels. Love their signature Energizer drink and love the fact that they offer Japanese maki rolls and Indian fare everyday.

This used to be my family’s favorite place to celebrate big wins. Unfortunately, EDSA traffic has made it very inconvenient for our family to meet up in this place. But, we do have exceptions to this rule every now and then - exceptions such as my mother’s birthday last week. My mom requested that we all meet up here, and so we all obliged.

We were seated inside the Kelvin room, an elevated room walled with transparent glass. It’s a great place to be seated in if your group wants to have a more peaceful and quieter place to be in, fit for intimate conversations. Only downside would be that it’s slightly farther from the buffet which shouldn’t be much of a con.

My usual plan of attack for buffets is to scan through the whole place before getting a bit of each dish in each category. I have always been satisfied with the wide selection of Heat. My average number of trips to the buffet is approximately 5.37 per visit.

Highlights of this particular visit:

1) Manchego Cheese – Yup.

2) Hakaw – had to request for it because it wasn’t on display. I believe given the limited space of the counter, they change up their selection after a particular period of time

3) Roast beef – I get a lot of this, just for value for money target

4) Salads – wide selection of dressings: raspberry vinaigrette. yum

Lowlights:

1) My favorite dessert here is crepe. Unfortunately it was not made well, with the base being thicker than the average crepe. Also, the mango used for the crepe seemed overripe.

2) Dessert serving time: the serving station was undermanned for a while with 2 people handling it. Service got better when a 3rd person joined them, significantly decreasing service time.

That’s it for now. Happy Monday everyone! Take care!

celebrated my birthday lunch with the wifey.

i had 2 servings of the rib eye 128077128077128077128077 it was nice at first but the middle part of the steak was hard. this is true with both servings.

i also had 2 pieces of California temaki 128077128077128077128077128077. I requested with less rice and more Japanese mayo. perfect!!

the ebi tempura 128077128077128077128077 was also good.

i also requested for fresh mangoes. they served us 3 halves.

other food i got were:
sugar coated churros 128077128077128077

since it was my birthday, my lunch was free and my companion's food was 20% off. they also gave me a slice of cake which i took home.

Hands down my favorite buffet place in the metro! You'll be confused in a good way by all the different choices you can make. Don't be shy if you want to request something from the servers. Some of their food choices are not easily seen. Sometimes, it requires some special preparations from the chef. All in all, 5 stars!!

Food was great specially their steaks. I got mine medium rare - tasty, juicy, and although it's a bit rare (bloody!) there is no gamey aftertaste. It's as tender as if you're slicing a butter. Food choices are a little limited though compared to Circles in Makati. I'd say 9/10

Me and my sister had our pre-valentine's dinner at heat last Friday! And Friday night is Mad for Lobsters night!!! I've been looking for lobsters buffet (since Diamond hotel's) and so this is heaven sent! Everything is as magical as I expect it to be. Overflowing lobster to be cooked by their chefs. Baked lobster, sushi lobster, pasta with lobster, everything with lobster! There are also other food available but at minimal only. Because duh, there is lobster, what else would you need? We enjoyed it so much that we were kidding that we'll be there every Friday hahaha! (If only I have the money for that)

But I'm a bit disappointed with the dessert section because no macarons! They offer cake, cheesecake, mousse, churros, halo-halo, ice cream, crepe, fruits, and filipino desserts like taho and some kakanin.

We arrived late for our reservation because of friday traffic! They only have 15minutes holding period but we came 30 minutes pass that! Luckily, they were able to accommodate us. Maybe they do not have too many guests that night! The service was really great! They are attentive with the needs of the customer. I think that's what I love most about hotel restaurants!

All in all, everything is great! I will surely be back! 128149128149128149128149128149128149128149128149128149128149128149128149128149128149128149128149

Their Mad for Lobster is every Friday night, 6pm. Php 2415 per person.

EDSA is way too traffic... Good thing we evaded half of it by employing waze (oh you have been very helpful lately!)
We arrrived 7pm and the HEAT is just starting. Boom. It's quite traffic in here as well. People walking thru and fro. Over that side are the meat section, over that section are salads, oh there' the dessert section! Yeah food quality here is quite good. Here are some of the good things here

Complimentary buffet breakfast for two last Dec24 during our advance Christmas staycation with fambam at Edsa Shangrila.

And because we're four in our family , only two were entitled for free breakfast so I ordered a waffle ala carte that was so huge for my two kids then I realized that I'm a Golden Circle club member so I asked the waiter to check my points and good thing because I have enough points to covered my two kids buffet breakfast , for short I didn't pay any for the kids breakfast and the waffle that we ordered winave nila! This is why I love Shangrila hotels! They valued their customers , loyal customers .

I've been here many times already but during dinner. My first time to eat breakfast. Enjoyed the hakao or shrimp dumpling, salad , pastries and a lot more including their fresh juices 127860128077

What if I tell you that there is a place where you can eat as much Wagyu beef as your tummy can hold. Impossible? Of course not! It’s incredibly possible at the Mad for Wagyu dinner buffet every Saturday at EDSA Shangri-La’s HEAT.. Unlimited, belly-filling Wagyu happiness!

The moment I entered HEAT, my eyes lit up! My eyes popped with amazement and disbelief! Imagine, a huge variety of dishes using Wagyu American Style Kobe Beef and Australian Wagyu Grade 4-5! From sushi to wagyu sliders, shawarma, tartare, philly cheese steak, wagyu xiao long bao, wagyu to ahawk, wagyu roast beef and even wagyu chocolate crepe! Crazy!

But among the assortment of Mad for Wagyu dishes, the Wagyu Beef Jerky stood out among the others and was the undisputed star of the night! Candied, crispy and addicting! The chef sure knows how to make these addicting wagyu slices paper thin and incredibly crispy! Eat this as is or pair it with fried rice and sunny side-up egg. Yum!!!

You know a meal is ridiculously delicious when the food is discussed even hours after you’ve eaten! Mad For Wagyu swept me off my feet!

MAD FOR WAGYU happens every Saturday dinner for Php2,415.00. Add Php750.00 for unlimited wine or Php700.00 for Stella Artois on Tap and that’s unlimited booze! 128004128004128004

My friends were planning a simple Christmas Party at NUI for ourselves. Instead we had a spontaneous dinner at HEAT as one of them pulled some strings to get vouchers. Luckily it was Wagyu night!!!!

Who doesn't love buffets?? My last would have to be at Sambokojin's for their beat the clock promo!

This time there were no clocks to beat! In fact I arrived really late since I had to come from work (Makati) then change my clothes at home before heading here.

Now this isn't our first time in Heat. And we had to say there were changes as in the variety has gotten smaller but the quality is still amazing!

I'll try my best to remember what we had but the higlight of course was few selections of wagyu tomahawk and steak cooked to your liking! Paired with truffle sauce!

Other than that we had sushi, prawns, peking duck, dimsum, tacos, calamari, prawns again, spare ribs cooked in coffee, rice, takuyaki, then in between was the wagyu then lastly the desserts. Churros, crepe, cheesecake....then I went in to coma.

Service was brilliant! Then they had a spin the wheel promo at the end of your dining experience. We won a wine buffet at the our next visit. That just a waste since we're not fond of wine. Well at least not yet.

Last night was a sinful one as we had dinner with some of our clients at The Heat, EDSA Shangri-La.

For almost P1500/head, you'll get to enjoy their sumptuous food stations.

Their salad station had fresh vegetables which I really liked. The romaine lettuce, tomatoes, and bell peppers were my favorites with their bright colors that made my plate look happy. They had a wide selection of sauces - Pesto, Caesar, Vinaigrette, Sun Dried Tomato, etc. to choose from.

Paired with the salad were a variety of bread options to munch on. I specifically liked their Glutten Free Bread that tasted really milky with its rough texture. Their cheese selection was a bit boring as I only saw 4 types including Cheddar and Bleu Cheese.

Their soups for the night were Cream of Chicken (which I liked) and Nilaga. Asidr from that, their noodle station was just OK, but their Laksa was exceptional as the curry's taste was perfectly balanced.

The roast section looked a bit pale to me. The beef was a bit dry. I was looking for the juicyness and tenderness but those were lacking. The side dishes were nice though - roasted vegetables and bread.

I expected much from the Japanese station but sad me, I didn't get what I had in mind. The tuna and salmon sashimi were dry and didn't taste fresh. The maki were all the same, fillings were a bit boring and the taste weren't different from each other.

There wasn't so much from the Chinese station. There were almost 5 types of dim sum and they all looked a bit sad and gloomy.

The grilling station had much to offer - pork, beef, seafood, fish, etc. I chose the Grilled Salmon Belly and I really liked it most especially when I drizzled some butter on it.

From the last time I visited, I can clearly remember that they don't have a Persian station yet. This time, this station made me excited. I loved their Chicken Shawarma and for better appreciation, ask the chef to create a new one for you so that it's still hot and fresh from the heater.

I passed on their Italian station as I felt full already and went straight to my favorite corner - DESSERTS! I appreciate the variety of desserts they served. Filipino ones included the halo-halo, leche flan, ube, etc. Their international included cakes, tarts, panna cottas, candies, pies, churros, pancakes, ice creams, etc. I loved the Coffee Jelly Panna Cotta as well as the Chocolate Raspberry Cake that was a special for the month.

If you're in it for buffet eat outs, try Heat and get to experience it for yourself.
