6/8 POBLACION FOODCRAWL C/O SRIRACHA

I have nothing much to contribute to this stop when it comes to food, but I do have a lot to say with the ambiance and the service.

We arrived the place holding our Sriracha bottles (freebies) and were held at the door. Their bouncer started to point at me saying "Ano yan?!". I was startled. What did I do? Apparently, they have a strict policy about bringing in outside food. They continued this attitude and asked us to leave the items at their counter, adding the phrase "hindi naman mawawala yan. Meron din kami niyan".

We complied and were sent in.

I don't frequent bars. Wait, I don't really go to bars. I don't drink. I hate second hand smoke. Well, this place has a lot of that last part. (I know that I shouldn't complain since this is normal for a bar. I'm not complaining. It's just a comment 128514) Since I can't breathe inside the bar, I stepped out and opted to skip this stop. Good thing the others had some take out food that I was able to try 128523

We were supposed to have the Pho Ga and Sriracha Chicken, but I was only able to try the sriracha chicken. It was good! There were a lot of spices that made the dish so flavorful. It was also the hottest item I've tried in this foodcrawl. It kinda just exploded in my mouth!

After this stop, we went to El Chupacabra for our next one (just across H&J). When we returned to claim our Sriracha, one of our bottles they handed to us was half emptied. We were puzzled. The bouncer's reply was something like "ginamit nila sa loob eh" without feeling even a little sorry about it.

(Sabi lang naman ni kuya di mawawala eh, mababawasan lang 128514) The people here were so rude, thus the rating.

SRIRACHA FOOD CRAWL 128293128293

6/8: H&J: Heckle and Jeckle

FOOD: (1) Pho Ga; (2) Sriracha Chicken
TASTE: (1) Pho was good but for me, nothing extraordinary. Maybe because I only tried it after around 15minutes so it was not hot anymore. (2) OMG. This was good!! Thank you Pea, Reich, and Abe for insisting that I try this one. I was hesistant at first because Indian food 128563128567 but since they said it's "mahusay", I tried one piece annnnd it was surprisingly good! It's spicy but the tolerable type. The "indian taste and smell" wasn't that strong, intense and overpowering that I was still able to enjoy it. I also liked that they added bell peppers. 128513
LEVEL OF SPICINESS: (1) 0/10; (2) 5.5/10

SERVICE: Meh. Bouncers were not nice. The place's really mausok. Not for people like me. 128567

FOOD: 4 stars
SERVICE: -100 stars 🙄128530

Food was great but service was bad. 🤐

I don't feel the need to discuss  the interior,  service and the very disrespectful bouncer manning the entrance.  His "i am so full of myself x i got big arms demeanor"  when he scrutinised the contents of my bag.   If we add these elements,  one star rating is generous.  I will focus on the food.

Pho Ga.  This is surprisingly good.  The broth has a light and refreshing flavor.   Glass noodles cooked perfectly,  so is the chicken.   If you want a bolder flavor of the soup,  add some hoisin and sriracha.  The result is a bright red broth oozing with flavor.  A combination of sweet,  salty,  spicy and chicken-ish taste.

Sriracha Chicken.  Of all the Sriracha infused fowl we ate that night,  this one takes top honors.  Tender chicken strips cooked in  spices and sriracha.  It is really good!  I even forgot about the Too-cool-for-school Johnny Bravo-ish bouncer.  I like the complexity of flavors,  i taste cumin,  sriracha and the heap of spices they used.

Heckle and Jeckle is one of those places you visit for food.  Forget everything else,  it's just the food that matters.

Sriracha Festival
Poblacion, Makati
(Sponsored Looloo Food Crawl)

Sixth Stop: Heckle & Jeckle (My Final Stop)

Oooopppsss! The security bouncers were so alert when we enter H&J. All of our food was deposited in their station. (Medyo masungit lang yung pagka-approached)

Friday night and it's a full house... the tugs tugs tugs music make us talk to each in much louder voice. They have billiards inside and glowing chicks dancing in their neon dress (ladies dancing wearing neon clothes). Most of the guests were foreigners.

The restaurant provided us Pho Ga (Vietnamese Chicken Noodle Soup) with Sriracha on the side and Chicken (di ko natikman kasi I need to rush for work)

128050 Pho Ga - 11088110881108811088 4/5

Tips:
Do not go here if you're not into tugs tugs tugs or loud music. If you're not a fan of cigarette smoke. If you're not ready to party and mingle with foreigners.

Thank you P! 128153

For Melbourne Cup, our company decided to throw the party in this resto. Days prior the event we were asked to do advance ordering. That gave me the chance to research more and see what should be eaten here.
According to their menu they were an Indian resto, I always wanted to try their cuisine which I can barely read/pronounce. So I googled and checked looloo for any reviews and what to order. However, seems theres not much of it. Not sure why, it was a nice place when we came in.
Speaking of that, this restaurant's interior was nice. It boasted an Indian pub-ish feel if there is such a thing. Its like you're in a pub but it seems so Indian-ish but not really? Do you get what I'm saying? Haha. Overall, interior is nice and cozy you need to check it out.
Anyways, we got there around 10:30am and since it was a "sports" event we had to do some games. While waiting for the committee to get ready for the program we had an open bar. Yes, open bar at 11 am where you can drink all you can but still need to be sober enough to participate in the games and still be in your best behavior since your boss is around. Hahaha. Sucks to be me.
There were a lot of choices for drinks, but of course I opted for the light ones well because I have to be in "pabebe" mode. Soooo... The bar ladies was not really full-on customer service probably because it was still early? I don't know, seems they did not want to be there but just have to be there because we were there. Probably it was not their shift yet? But anyway, when I gave my order I had to repeat it again after 5mins because it seems they forgot there was an order since they were "chismis-ing" each other. I'm not generalizing all of them but most of them are.
And now, the food! I ordered Chicken Jalfrezi, Prawn Kabal and Apple Crumble. The jalfrezi and kabal was ok but not ok enough to make me come back here. The apple crumble was non-existent even though we advance ordered it few days ago. They offered me a chocolate cake instead which was ok but also not ok enough. Had to taste other foods from office mates and nope, nothing was ok enough to make me crave for it again.
I even thought that maybe because I had alcohol in my veins thats why I am not appreciating the food. My palette is low maintenance, if it taste goods to me it would taste good to everybody but nope, my palette was disappointed and was not satisfied well. It was not me being sober or drunk, food was just lacking.
Maybe Heckle and Jeckle is a just good place for drinks, they have that amazing spicy wedges that goes well with beer but if you're a foodie and expects orgasmic food, this is not the place for it. #loolooexplorerpackgiveaway #loolooexplorerpackgiveaway #loolooexplorerpackgiveaway

Caught the action here for the World Cup Finals with the Germans prevailing yeeyyy!

We got here about 3 hours before the match and luckily secured us a table by the covered outdoor seating. Entrance for the WC matches was P300 and comes with 4 local drinks.

They got TVs all over the place. There's a big one where we were seated and two 32 inch ones hanging by the ceiling. Place got packed an hour before the match. Lots of expats present.
Of course food isn't the highlight of a sports bar so that leaves the food really ordinary. The tacos and tenderloin strips we ordered were just for the sake of putting solid food in our beer bellies.9786

Service was surprisingly good. The waitresses were quick with our orders.

I'd been here twice and the service was okay!

We're searching for a fine bar along Makati ave and one of my friends recommended this place!
At first, I was hesitant b'coz all I see were Foreigners but I guess Makati Ave is well known for it-having expat all over!
The food and the service here were both okay plus the live band and a big bonus were papable people sorrounded us!
We chatted all night and didnt realized its already past 2 in the morning! We had a great talked here with my friends...,
