The last stop of our combination tour in El Nido is Helicopter Island. It is named because of its shape which is obviously similar to a helicopter without the propeller.

We were so tired from the island hopping but it didn’t stop us from enjoying Helicopter Island’s view. The long stretch of creamy colored sand with bits of black stones makes this island ideal for laid-back beach trip. This is usually the last island to visit on tours.

The position of the island covers when the sun sets in the afternoon but actually perfect way to cap off the tiring day. If you are familiar with Borawan Island, their scenery is almost the same but Helicopter Island is much bigger in size.

Activities you can do:
▫️Snorkeling/ Swimming
▫️Photo taking (for ig!)

Combination Tour Fee (A and C): P1,700

Our first stop for the Tour C is island named after how it’s shaped; a helicopter. I heard someone mentioning that it looks more like a chicken leg; well it does, in another angle. But from where we came from, it looked just like how it is named, a humongous chopper.

This island has rich and shallow reefs making it an ideal snorkeling and diving spot even for beginners. According to a website, you even have a good chance of seeing sea turtles here. My friends wasted no time and immediately jumped into the water with their snorkeling gears (provided free of charge by SLV). I, on the other hand, wasted no time taking selfies, lol.

The beach itself is not as as gorgeous as those that we found on other islands. The sand here is more yellow than white, covered with with twigs, rocks, and leaves. But Helicopter Island’s appeal is not the beach but what you can see underwater.

This is probably one of the most beautiful place I've been to here in the Philippines with pristine waters and stunning karst stones, absolutely perfect! Your photos will be worth every thumbs up on instagram and facebook. 128525128525128525

The reason why it's named helicopter island is because it looks like one – without its propellers. 128514 From the El Nido town wharf, it took about 25-30 minutes by boat. 9973

The island is part of Tour C. The tours in El Nido are pretty much the same for all tour operators. They have the same group of islands for each tour group. Tour C comprises of the islands farthest from the town proper.

The island has a long beach front but be careful since the place is a bit rocky. It would be best if you had aqua shoes when you go island hopping in El Nido because you wouldn't want to get so many scratches.

The locals said there's a few snorkeling spots here but we didn't get to explore much in the water because the waves were so rough that day. It was so rough, we kept getting swept on shore.

The long beach was a good place to explore and take photos. 128247 There are some rocky areas which looked like huge coral rocks that have dried up on shore.

It's a nice place to just sit in the beach and chill too. Though there are quite a number of people in the island so there's tons of boats docked. It was hard to swim.

On the second day of the tour and this is tour C. The first stop is helicopter island because from afar it really looks like 128641
What I like about the el nido tours is that the islands aren't that far out from the mainland so each boat ride is about 20-30mins only.
Helicopter island is a pretty stretch but a bit steep. You can snorkel and swim but that's pretty much it. Still beautiful of course but I liked the other islands better.

This is our first stop on our first day. Its name came from the word itself. Helicopter. Muka kasi siyang helicopter. But it was more of a jollibee chicken joy. Lol. It was also beautiful but the island is usual. Be careful with the jellyfishes. 128522 dami! Hahaha.
