We used to buy bread here but it's closed for renovation now.

The Hungarian Sausage was a bit bland. I had expected it to be spicier. The servings are big though so even if I had not had breakfast or lunch yet, I was unable to finish all of it. This has a side dish of fries and a salad so it's really filling. You can also order the sandwich with either white, wheat or rye bread.

My friend and I decided to eat merienda in Henny Penny since we are in the area. She ordered caldereta and I odered tapa since I am craving for it since Monday.. Hmmm..that is really a merienda since the weather was so inviting to eat heavy. The presentation of their food was nice but when I tasted the tapa..tsk, tsk too bad..128586 doesn't taste like tapa at all, its tasteless actually. I bought a few chicken turn over for my mom as my pasalubong just to try but mom did not liked it. Well anyway I guess I will still give them a chance..

Lunch before doing the groceries. Tried out the bacon, lettuce, tomato sandwich which is served on either white, wheat or rye bread. Opted for the wheat which was a tad dry. Sandwich is served with a side of fries and a salad with honey mustard dressing. It was an okay meal. Nothing sensational but filling

Back again since it's the nearest place to grab a bite before I do the groceries. French toast with sausage and bacon and eggs is still my go-to meal here. Will try the shrimp spaghetti which I had years ago to see if it's still good

Back today for some comfort food: French toast with eggs, bacon and sausage. Somehow this fell a little flat today and was just so-so. Still comforting though. And I get what other people say about the service. Waitress was a bit surly with her greeting today.

Henny Penny is a cafe full of surprises. For one thing, the location (which is right inside the Hi-Top supermarket building) lends itself to the idea that the place must have cheap, fast, and simple meals which it doesn't really. While it does have many Pinoy food staple rice meals, it has some more sophisticated selections like French toast with spicy sausage and bacon (my usual order). It's a bit pricey (said French toast is 200-plus) for someone like me who is in mega tipid mode but the servings are hefty. Today I'm trying out the house burger which is served with something like a cole slaw and potato wedges dusted in spices. The wedges were a bit lacking in flavor. The burger had a sweet sauce that I didn't care for. Catsup which is served in tiny bowls when you ask for it makes it much better. Don't think I'd order this again
