PSA: DO NOT order their chocolate stirrer drink! Stick to their topnotch Vietnamese coffee.

I frequent this place, and my staple is their cafe sua nong (drip Vietnamese hot coffee with milk), which is a great drink. This time, silly me thought of trying something different, so I got their new offering - a choco stirrer served with hot milk.

Oh boy, what a wrong move! I realized that the success of a choco stirrer drink isn't just in the block of chocolate you use but also in the milk you melt it in. I had ordered similar drinks in other places (I like the one from Slice) where the milk worked with the choco. Don't know what happened here!

I couldn't pinpoint what was wrong with the milk exactly (it wasn't spoiled milk or anything like that), but it didn't blend well with the chocolate for some reason. In fact, I could hardly taste the chocolate at all! I guess the milk they used is not similar to the kind you get in tetra packs at the supermarket; maybe I just wasn't used to the kind of milk they have. In any case, this quite literally left a bad taste in my mouth.

Stick to the great Vietnamese coffee that Highlands is known for. Just go somewhere else if you want a fancyshmancy chocolate drink.

I don't know why it took me so long to give this coffee shop a shot, but I'm glad I finally did.
Their cafe sua nong is one of the best cups I've had. Even with the condensed milk, the coffee stood out. It's going to take me a while to get over how good it is. I think I'm in love.
Decent cheesecake, too! Soft and not crumbly, and not to sweet.

Good place to hang out! They have a smoking area on the 2nd floor that has a mini theater of sorts. A small moviehouse projector and comfy couches make up the cozy and relaxing atmosphere, and one can watch movies like 500 Days of Summer or catch an NBA game while drinking and dining with friends. A perfect spot for chilling after work or over the weekends when you don't have plans.

Wifi can also provide a place to work outside of the office if it fancies you.

And of course, the Vietnamese Drip Coffee, which only costs P110, is a shot of adrenaline that really perks you up.

Their Vietnamese coffee is great. Not as crowded like Starbucks or The Coffee Bean which is a plus point for me. The cookies & cream freeze is nice for the anti-caffeine ones.

Cozy plus with a study area! Loved it! A must if you want to review or have a private talk with someone! There's also a terrace on the second floor. Good place!

I've been curious about this new coffeeshop along Timog since it opened. However, since we were collecting stickers for our Starbucks planner, we never get the chance to try this until this day.

• COFFEE - The coffee was fancy. We ordered cookie butter coffee which was their holiday special and it looked yummy. It was, it tasted so much like cookie butter but the coffee part was lacking. I'm a coffee drinker and cookie butter lover as well and I thought this was the perfect drink for me but it wasn't. I love the cookie butter part though but since I went here to study, I was a bit disappointed. I'd go back to Starbucks next time for some real coffee.

• PRICE - Their coffee was a bit cheaper than Starbucks but I'd rather pay 150php for my venti americano.

• PLACE - For this I could have given them 5 stars! The place was perfect and both the aircon area and the al fresco area for smokers were superb! No words can explain how we felt when we saw the comfortable and big couches, perfect lighting and the big LCD screen with movie at the center! It was a haven! Instead of studying, I watched Harry Potter!

• SERVICE - The baristas welcomed us with a smile and they were polite and accomodating. They even offered us loyalty cards to entice us to come back. The stamp card will give you free coffee after your 4th purchase!

• PARKING - They have lots of parking spaces! Perfect!

I'd still go back here but probably with friends when we want to hang out and catch up but definitely not for studying. Their coffee ironically made me sleepy!

Yet another great place to study! It's relatively new and kind of hidden, so not a lot of people frequent this place at this time... It's the biggest coffee chain in Vietnam and I'm glad to have a taste of Vietnamese coffee, as a break from the usual macchiato and americano! Reminds me of my Vietnam trip a couple of years back, so it's happy memories=)

Me and my husband were about to attend the mid-week 7pm service in Church So Blessed when we noticed that Highlands Coffee which is just next to it was already open. Since I came straight from the office, I really feel tired and sleepy already so we decided to grab a cup of coffee first. The place was well lit and the staff were all smiles when we came in. As I was choosing what to order, I politely asked the one in the counter if they have Salted Caramel frap, he said none but offered that If I wish, he could make one just for me.

WOW. I was really happy to hear that! A for effort! Hehe.

The drink was just fine though, I only think that it was too sweet that I couldn't figure out if there's a kick of salt in it.

I'm still giving them 4 stars just because I really did appreciate the Barista's attempt to at least try to make me one. 128513

Hubby got Hazelnut frap and said he liked it. I was just checking out the pastries and desserts and then when I got back, his cup's empty already. Maybe it really is good noh? Haha

And oh, they offer croughnuts too which was only available in three flavors, strawberry, apple and cinnamon. All for P99 each. I'd definitely go back soon to try one 128523
