Higuma is one of those nondescript, hole in the wall places. I often see it when waiting for my turn at the stoplight going left to tirona and yesterday hubby and I decided to give it a go. Our deal was, if there's a parking spot outside, go for it and Luckily, we were able to park!
The place is a bit tiny, around 6 small tables on the first floor and there's also a second floor which we didn't see. Lone server but very polite and efficient. She handed us the menu right away. Btw there was only one other occupied table at that time.
We got the potato okonomiyaki, katsudon and nabeyaki udon. Very clean and simple interiors. The okonomiyaki arrived first. Instead of a pancake style okonomiyaki which we're accustomed to, theirs was like an omelette with potato salad inside. We loved it! A little later, my katsudon arrived next together with seaweed soup. It arrived piping hot and the egg was still bubbling! Added just a tad of togarashi and kikkoman and it was great. Not sweet like others I've tried. Hubby's udon arrived and it was in a clay pot, when the server opened the lid, it was also piping hot! He gave me some to try and i really liked the 'bounciness' of the noodles.
In the middle of the meal we felt a bit bitin (do not follow this instinct!) so we ordered their kubiyashi or deep fried meat. Good but tastes like nuggets to me 128513
Great experience and we'll definitely be back! There was also a 20% discount during lunch time so our total bill was only php920!
