Hillcrest House is one of the rentable. houses in Tali Subdivision. I was able to book an overnight stay here through Airbnb. It took a while before the host replied so I did some stalking and got their mobile number on Facebook. After calling them, that’s when I got the confirmation. Because of this, I was ready to give them an average rating after the trip.

Like any other private subdivision, the host of the Hillcrest House asked for our names and the details of the car we’ll be using. When we got to the house, we were surprised that it was really big and spacious. We were welcomed by a caretaker who stays in a small room at the back of the house. Hillcrest is a two-storey house with 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a dipping pool and has a garage that can accommodate 2 cars. There was only a balcony that overlooks the beach area. The host restricts that it can only cater up to 12 people but in reality, it can accommodate more because of the spacious rooms and big sofas. The only thing I didn’t like about this place is the kitchen. They had many plates and forks but no spoons. Most of the pans were rusty. Also, the water coming from the sink has a different color. It took us some time before we realized that the smaller faucet had clear water. For the bedrooms, the beds were comfy and the air conditioning was okay. Also, the caretaker was kind enough to grill the meat we brought. He also brought us to the beaches and gave us a little tour around Tali.

When we got back in Manila, one of my friends realized he left his phone charger in the house. I contacted the host right away and they were very responsive and accommodating. They got the charger and asked us to pick it up in Clipper Hotel in Makati. As per the house, the caretaker usually reports to the Clipper Hotel (same management I guess) so we just waited on when he’ll be in Makati before we were able to pick it up. It was super convenient because it saved us all the hassle and the expensive shipping fee.
