If you're trying to find a cafe that is really peaceful where u can study or think quietly, hillcrest is the best place to do that, a totally relaxing ambience with matching healthy drinks such as moringa banana, banana oat, banana honey ginger and alot more. They also sell paintings which benefits the victims of typhoon yolanda. ♡♡♡

Since we were already in the area, V and I opted to walk around Teachers Village and look for an interesting place to have dessert after a filling meal thanks to Cocina Juan. After a short walk, V noticed a coffee shop with a bookshelf and that attracted him like a fly to light. So, we found our dessert place.

Hello, Hillcrest Wellness Café.

It has a modest café set up that gives an impression of a school lounge of some sort. The menu is quite simple too but the Moringaccino (PHP120) sure made me curious. Moringa with cappuccino? I’ve never heard of that before. And so, I just have to order that one. V, as a person who doesn’t drink coffee (*gasp* I know!), opted for Strawberry Banana Wellness Shake (PHP145). We also ordered a Banana Mango crepe (PHP185). It was a good thing that they have Moringaccino to distract me as the person manning the counter could not answer any of my questions except which one is their bestseller.

My coffee tasted a bit like matcha. It had a strong “green” taste. It tasted healthy though so I didn’t find finishing the cup sinful.

V’s Strawberry Banana Shake on the other hand tasted like a Banana shake. I guess they scrimped on strawberries as this fruit is so expensive here! (Oh how I miss the cooler countries where strawberries are really cheap.)

The crepe took them a while to serve. I think 30 minutes have gone when they served it. V had to follow it up before they served the crepe.

I was pretty surprised with the serving as it was pretty generous. However, the mangoes were not sweet at all. It was tangy. But I like it that way. It made a good contrast with the bananas, ice cream and chocolate syrup. Deeeelightful.

It’ll probably take me a while before I visit this place again but I will definitely order Moringaccino.

Honestly, I discovered Hillcrest Wellness Cafe by accident. We were looking for a particular all-day breakfast restaurant but could not find it then we stumbled upon this place.

At first we were hesitant because we thought they only serve healthy organic drinks and power shakes but to our surprise, they also serve delicious pasta, rice meal and sandwiches.

I ordered Tim's Sandwich. It is made of grilled chicken with sliced green and red pepper topped with melted cheese on a focaccia bread. I admit, I don't like vegetables but this I totally love.

It's delicious. I never expected something healthy could taste this superb.

They also have delicious food like their crepe. They have three kinds: Mango Banana, Apple Cinnamon, and Strawberry Banana. I loved their Strawberry Banana. Their crepe is huge enough for sharing and there was a generous serving or sliced banana and strawberry topped with whipped cream. It was a perfect ending for a delicious sandwich. I can't wait to try more of their meals.

As for the price, all of them were reasonable. The place was comfortable. It is like inside the library but you are allowed to eat.

The Chicken Rice Meal I ordered is mouthwatering and the servings are big. I also got the Apple-Banana Wellness Smoothie, the hint of ginger in this drink gives it a unique kick.

My cousin and I were looking for a coffee shop to stay-in when we found this one. The place is quite cozy but noisy because of some customers behind us. At first, we didn't enjoy the drink we ordered because the taste is too strong, but we dealt with that and finished it completely.

Got the Mango cheesecake and mountain brew, it was alright. Stting in this place for an hour, felt like Going to church. Christian music playing in the background, their staff singing along, completed by the feeling of guilt while smoking outside. This place sits right accross the Hillcrest Family Life Baptist Church. What better way to start off your sunday... Can i get an AMEN to that? Yea.

Of course we want our food to be yummy yet healthy. The place to have a good ambiance: clean, well ventilated, well lighted, and the like. We also enjoy having kind and attentive waitstaff in the resto. All these are met when I ate at Hillcrest Wellness Cafe.

A short trivia, this restaurant is handled by a Born Again Christian Church that is located juxtaposed the resto. The interior is full of paintings and artworks because they sell some of those as fundraising for charity. If you're a book lover, you will find this cafe interesting because they also sell different books there.

TAKE ON FOOD AND PRICES:
We ordered the best seller Pasta which is the Chicken Pesto (P220) and Herb Pesto (P190). It was really delish and very filling. Prices are quite high than the usual, but I betcha won't complain coz you'll get your money's worth.

A MUST TRY! 128521128076

This is probably the best place to enjoy coffee and good pasta. I ordered the herbed pesto and it was delicious. And if you need a place to work, this should be perfect! It's very quiet and the music playlist is very relaxing. It opens at 7am and closes at 1am and there are plenty of electrical sockets.

Good place with good food! 128077

My brother and I needed a quiet place to work. His search for a spot led him to Hillcrest. I followed my brother there around 2:30pm. There were a few tables occupied and the place is quiet. They have a few electrical sockets so those who will work with their laptops or mobile devices won't have a problem. Just bring an extension cord in case you sit far from the outlets. They have free WiFi.

I ordered Iced Latte and Herb Pesto. My Latte was Php 120, the biggest size. The Herb Pesto was Php 200. The Latte is okay. The Herb Pesto is quite tasty but I think you can get better Pesto for Php 200 elsewhere. This place has limited food choices but they prepare the dishes well.

As for the ambiance, they played Praise and Worship songs as well as calm ballads or mellow songs. I liked it. The walls are lined with artwork for sale, most of which have positive messages of faith. :)

I hope they upgrade their menu. I'd love come back here. :)
