2016 may be ending in a few months but it's not too late to start your resolution of eating healthier food. In Manila, there is a number of healthy restaurants but here in Batangas City, there is not much to choose from. Good thing, Hills Cafe is now open to serve healthy dishes to Batangueños and visitors of the city. Food here does not only have loads of nutritional value, but also very tasty and yes, instagram-worthy! :)

When I entered the café, I was greeted by wooden tables, chairs and white walls with green. Posted on the wall are small statement frames that will look good on your IG feed. :))
It has a relaxing ambiance. Soothing bossa nova music filled the room.

The place is well-lit and kinda small but they have maximized the space well.

According to the owner, it used to be a parking space for their boarding house and then one day, they decided to open up a café there. They came up with the name “Hills Café” because of its location, Hilltop, and it matches the green motif of the place. It is a nice place to chill and relax with friends after a tiring day at work or at school. It is also a nice venue for breakfast since they serve amazing breakfast food!

Service was good, too! The staff and owner are very friendly :) They also have free wifi.

In a city where cheat meals are available in every corner, this restaurant offers a different and a healthier variety of food. They serve appetizers, sandwiches, breakfast meals, rice meals (silog and chicken tenders), pasta, milkshakes, juices, waffles, pastries, salad, coffee and tea. The place may be small, but man, they have an extensive menu! So many food to choose from! Plus, as I mentioned earlier, they serve healthy food such as brown rice, salad, gluten free goodies and more. Here are the food that we tried:

127860Chicken Tenders (Php 130)–each meal is served with dirty rice (brown rice which is cooked with spices and diced vegetables such as carrots, onions and cucumber) and there are 4 sauces/dressings to choose from:

🍽Garlic Parmesan (their best-seller) - this cheesy garlic - coated chicken strips are oozing with flavor!
🍽Ranch - for me it's maSOURap, too!
🍽Fiery Buffalo - slightly spicy and sauce is kinda watery but I liked it
🍽Honey BBQ - sweet and flavorful). I liked all flavors but this one is my favorite!
Each serving has 4 pieces of breaded chicken tenders that were made tastier by the toppings. The dirty rice tasted good, too! The flavor of the vegies blended well with the brown rice.

127860 Sausage (Php 130) – 2 sausages, 2 pieces of waffles drizzled with syrup, a sunny side up egg on top and vegies (lettuce and tomato) on the side. Waffles were soft and sausages were juicy. I loved the sweet-savory combination!
127860Tocino Delight (Php 130) – tocino with 2 French toasts topped with omelet. I loved the toast! It has a bit of coco taste, the ones similar in macaroons, which blended wellwith the milk. Tocino was sweet and tender.
127860Omelet and Potatoes (Php 130) – 2 vegetable omelets with slices of baby potatoes and a mini salad for side dish.
Ham only one call away.
127860Fritata and Ham (Php 130) – 2 ham slices with omelet and 2 butter toasts

We tried pesto, carbonara and American Asian pasta. Each pasta plate costs Php 95. It comes with a toast and each has generous toppings. I liked all three, but the American Asian is my favorite! It is topped with a different kind of sauce, nuts, ground meat and spices.I loved it! It was like a more affordable version of Yellow Cab’s Charlie Chan.

127860JUICES (Php 50 each) - so refreshing! I liked calamansi best
127860Coffee, tea, hot choco - they have limited choices for coffee. Price ranges from 70-80 per cup
127860Chia and Hemp Muffin (Php 55) - it was my first time to find something with chia here in Batangas City! It was not as soft as I expected buy it tasted good!

We enjoyed eating here! Will definitely be back to try their sandwiches and milkshakes!
