The enchanted river was truly enchanting, the water was so beautifully clear, and you could see fishes swimming underneath you.

The enchanted river is where the water from the mountain and the water from the sea meet, you will see how the water changes from dark blue to green.

In order for you to have the place to yourself try to go on a day that isn't a holiday or a weekend.

Life jackets are also available for rent for people who cannot swim.

ENCHANTED RIVER ✔
True to its name, the river is really enchanting. 10084 There are angles wherein the river appeared to have a blue-ish color, and sometimes green-ish. It is not that big compared to what I expected it to be based on the photos I've seen. But its not that important. I was still awed by its beauty. 128521
It took us almost 4-5 hours from Davao to reach Tinuy-an falls and 1 and a half hour to finally reach this haven. It was a longgg bumpy road trip. We arrived around 11:55am just in time for the much awaited fish feeding which is done every 12pm. We hurriedly paid for the entrance fee of php30 each and off we went to see the river. They also offer cottages. And there were some carinderias near the place. (They offer almost same food.. Adobong pusit, fried shrimps, liempo, lato, crabs and tempura) Each plate costs around 120-150php good for sharing. And the plating I must say is really enticing. Haha
Tick tock 12pm, fish feeding starts with a bell and some enchanting melodies. TA-DUHHH the fishes started to appear from nowhere. "AMAZING!! San nanggaling yung mga isda." Halos lahat yun ang sabi. We were really amazed. As per one of the kuya they feed the fishes with steamed octopus. Sosyal octopus not squid. Haha there were different fishes, diff sizes and colors. The fish feeding lasts for i think 2-5mins (though the schedule is 12-1pm) The fishes were still there yet there were already some people who are jumping on the river. WHY?! Sirena ang peg? Swimming with the fishes?! Kalurkss. They could have waited for the fishes to disappear before flip diving on the river. 128545
The place is well-maintained. There were several life guards. They also offer life jackets. My friend and I rented life jackets for 15php/hour. We were not comfortable with our swimming skills. (Skills? Lol floating lang alam ko)as per the blogs I've read before going here, the depth of the river is not yet known. I tried, but i failed. HAHA but i reached the other end. So I'm proud of myself. Haha
Also, reminder: No I.D, No lifejacket. (Baka daw ilipad ang life jacket pabalik ng Manila.JK.hahah)
This really is a must visit place. One of the beautiful places Mother Nature gave to the Philippines. 10084

Saw about the Enchanted river a couple of years ago and have always wanted to visit the place. Luckily, my recent trip to Davao included going to Agusan del Sur to attend a christening. I saw an opportunity and convinced my friends to go here before going back to Davao. 128522

From San Francisco, Agusan, it took us 1 hour to get to enchanted river.

When we arrived at around 3:30pm, there were just a few tourists, initial plan was not to swim since we needed to go back to Davao (4-5 hrs. trip from Hinatuan). But it was impossible not to! 128561 So we went for a swim, you are only allowed to swim till 5pm. And everyone's to leave the place not later than 6pm.

For the people who want to swim but doesn't know how to (ehem! 128513), you can rent a life vest.

The place was truly enchanting, there were all sizes of fishes swimming and the water was so clear.

Usually, the place gets crowded easily especially on weekends, naka chamba lang kami na Sunday.

The river is truly enchanted! Went here and this was my 4th stop in Mindanao as I explore 5 of its provinces for 5 days. You'll need to rent a habal-habal (Visayan for motorcycle) and it'll took you an hour if you're coming from Bislig, Surigao del Sur or fifteen to thirthy minutes if from Hinatuan Bus Terminal

I arrived there yesterday an hour before they feed the fishes. Once that starts, everyone in the river aren't allowed to swim while the feeder feeds the fishes, as I can remember, it lasted for 15 minutes and luckily, I was able to snap a photo both the river, its surrounding plants and the reaaaaallllyyyy cute fishes.

Aside from the cute fishes, the water's really clear, too! Lucky for you if you know how to swim because you'll be able to roam around the river, but if you can't, no worries, you can still roam around by renting a life jacket, it's just better if you can swim unlike me :( Tip: bring snorkeling gears if you wanna see the fishes swim together underwater!! :)

After hearing stories about this enchanted river, I decided to book a flight to Surigao to visit this place. When we got there, I am disappointed, too much people all over the place. I think because of media that made enchnated river too mainstream. The water is not blue and clear anymore. Well, atleast I have the chance to visit this place.

I have such high expectations for this place. So imagine my disappointment when we finally arrived after a 12-hour trip, only to find out that the river is not so enchanted anymore.128546

We went here 3 sundays ago and during a long weekend, so the place was really crowded. I almost didn't want to swim anymore but because we're all feeling sticky and dusty from all that bus and habal-habal ride, we all decided to take a dip. I also felt that we did not travel this far only to leave it at once. We arrived here around 4pm and the place closed at 5pm, this gave us then only an hour to take all the selfies and groupfies we want.128540

After changing to our dry clothes, we went back to see the river and lo and behold, not a single person can be seen in the water! It's like the place transformed into this beautiful and serene spot that made us all happy! We even saw a lot of fishes coming out wherever they're hiding from and we can't help but snap our cameras away. That picture above was not filtered and I only edited it using photogrid so I won't have to crop it here. It was perfect timing that even if we only spent an hour at this place, we're able to see it without the crowd and appreciate its simplicity.

Before we left, we learned from one of the staff there that during that time, it was high tide. That's why we did not see how deep and clear the river was just like how it looks on those popular photos posted over the web. If you're planning to go here, it would be best you set it during weekdays and come very early to avoid the crowd.128521

Enchanted river is another tourist attraction I'm crossing out in my list of local places to visit. Finally!128588

We left Bislig at 7am for an early morning dip in the river. We were accompanied by the same duo that we hired in Tinuy-an. The ride can also be bumpy but the early morning breeze made it less stressful. Tolerable if I consider the effort we exerted just to reach the waterfall on day one.

It took us forty five minutes to get to Hinatuan where the river is located. There were only a handful of people when we arrived. Swimming sesh and picture taking were easier than usual. Loveeet!128525 Perks of being an early bird.128524

I'll be honest. It's not as awesome as the pictures found on Google. Too much filter had my expectations at peak. I still enjoyed the river tho.

The river is at the end of a small estuary. It's probably the reason why the water is mildly saline and wonderfully dyed in crystal blue. The water is shallow but I didn't had difficulties flapping from side to side. Life thrives with small crabs and large school of fish seen across the river. Saying the water is clean and fresh is an understatement.

After three hours we decided to take the island tour. I'll submit another review for our experience. Wait for it!128513

Located at the town of Hinatuan is a majestic river that attracts tourists from all over, not only because of its breath-taking beauty that will leave you speechless, but also of some unexplained mysteries.

Aside from the fact that no diver has ever reached the bottom of the Enchanted River, nobody has ever caught a fish in this river even though the schools of huge and fat fish you see swimming around look calm and gentle.

Enchanted indeed!

The place is really enchanting, it's like the river calling out your name. The water is azure blue and crystal clear. A swim will definitely rejuvenate your senses. At the strike of 12pm, a school of fish will invade the river for fish feeding which is a must see!

How does the Enchanted River of Hinatuan get its name? The source of the river flow (believe me its current is strong under) is a mystery. The depth of the river has already been measured because yeah, you can go scuba diving in that river. That's deep.

Go there off-peak to appreciate the blue-ness of the river. There's fish feeding session. But I don't like how the fishes look like under. They're scary. There's also island hopping wherein the Hinatuan River is the jump off point.

What can I say? It was enchantig! A blue river, you don't see that everywhere and the fish, they disn't egen seem to mind the swimming wih them. You have to leave really early to catch the feeding time at noon and be ready for a really bumpy and long ride just getting from the highway to the river itself.

Who could imagine this hidden paradise. Wow, just wow. 128525

It was once a magical and mysterious place.

When I see it, I know why it was called magical and mysterious. I can even say any word except for amazing. 128525

I can't express how amazing God's creation. If only government will support like this. 128549

Sorry I can't really express how beautiful this place. I can't find any words to describe this one.

Props to the person who baptized the Hinatuan River to now what it's popularly known as Enchanted River. It is indeed enchanting and mesmerizing! Okay ka fairy ko ang peg! 128516

It's best to go here late morning to before lunch as the lush greenery still provides shade while you swim. Its water is cold but not ice water levels, tamang timpla lang! 128518 Kahit malilim kita pa rin ang pagka-asul ng tubig. Parang in-edit di ba!? Below P100 entrance fee di ko na maalala basta murayta lang! Mga 30 mins. from the main road pa & may libreng massage papunta sa ilog. Lubak2 kasi! Hahahaha! 128517128514

At 12noon they have this fish feeding event w/c they say is nice to watch. I have no idea what it's like coz we had to leave as we're pressed for time. Sayang!

For people like us who didn't bring baon, there are vendors who sell fresh seafoods which they'll also cook for you at no extra cost. These will be ready in an hour or less depending on how many you order. Very good sila kasi complete attendance na rin ang paper plate, spoon, fork, baso at syempre kanin! Wagi yung adobong saang! Not sure if we have that here in MNL, but it was my first time to try it. Shellfish yun pero wala na sa shell pag niluto at parang pusit na mas malambot. Yung adobo nila meron star anise (yun nilalagay sa patatim), okay din pala. Try nyo winner sobra! 128077128522

From Butuan, ride a Ceres bus at 2am bound for Mangagoy in Bislig. After ~3 hours, get off at Hinatuan in Surigao del Sur and hail a habal-habal. Talk nicely to the locals, ask around, canvass for prices and agree on the price. It's up to you if you'd want to go to other places they'll offer. The habal-habal is one ride to remember so be sure not to miss this one out. For the less adventurous, rent a van.

Once you get to there, pay the entrance fee, rent a lifejacket and jump into the waters of the Enchanted River and enjoy its cold, crystal clear, blue water.

Tip: Opt to go to the Enchanted River early in the morning, around 7am. Hoards of visitors start arriving at 9am.
