Yummiest Takoyaki I've ever tried!

This is one of the places I always visit with no fail when we are in SM Makati. I still remember the days when all we knew about Takoyaki was Samurai's Takoyaki. Their service is quick but depending on your visit the front staff at the cashier can make or break your experience but do not let it ruin your mindset from tasting one hefty and filled takoyaki. We love the mozarella and bacon and the kani varieties. It is topped with bonito flakes. So filling and a great afternoon snack. Senior cards honored.

I went to SM Makati Food Court to have Merienda and tried HOKKAIDO TAKOYAKI. For Php119.00 I got 6 balls of Original Flavor Takoyaki. Upon ordering the counter said that can I wait for 10 minutes because there were bulk orders ahead of me. I said "Yes" and asked permission to take some pictures. While taking pictures, I noticed that the takoyaki balls should transfer in every empty/vacant holes of their cooking ware to cook the Takoyaki evenly and properly circled like a small ball. "Ang galing ng gumagawa! Amazing! Ang bilis nya magtransfer ng balls sa hole. Trained!" 🇯🇵

Other flavors: Bacon, Cheese, Kani and Mazarella & Scallops.

Prices:
6 pieces - Php119.00
9 pieces - Php159.00
12 pieces - Php199.00

Tucked away at SM Makati's foodcourt is probably one of the more decent takoyaki places in the Metro. Recently, takoyaki has been added to my growing list of food cravings (aka stuff I need to eat as much as possible 128514), and unfortunately, I haven't really found a place worth a review until I chanced upon this stall last week. I was expecting a regular order of four tiny pieces of vegetable-stuffed balls, but boy was I wrong. What I got were six huge golfball-sized babies loaded with veggies and bite-sized pieces of octopus and generous amounts of sauces and toppings. The best part? The octopus wasn't rubbery. On my first visit I tried the original octopus takoyaki, which I really liked. Yesterday I tried kani and mozzarella and it tasted better in my opinion. My only problem is that it wasn't cooked on the spot, unlike the original octopus takoyaki. This place is a great find and I'm gonna keep coming back here whenever I need a quick takoyaki fix. 128513

There were flies by the dining area, so i had my orders to go.

The staff would talk to each other as if they weren't at work- too loud and non-stop biruan; it was quite annoying. even that girl in the photo got irked and asked what was taking her/our orders too long. It took them 10mins, to think we were the only customers in line and they were cooking a lot of takoyaki beforehand.

Original flavor, though lacking in sauce, was ok. Nothing great at Php119 for 6pcs.

Bacon & mozarella, overpriced and underwhelming at Php179 for 6pcs.

I was waiting for my friends in SM Makati and I got really hungry so I decided to look for a place to eat. I ended up choosing Hokkaido Takoyaki located at the basement floor of SM.

From the name itself, they sell Takoyaki but with different choices. You can have their original octopus, bacon and cheese or kani and mozarella. They sell Takoyaki with a minimum order of 6 pcs. You can also buy 9pcs or 12pcs. I chose bacon and cheese since I love Bacon! 128525 I really tasted the melted cheese and the bacon bits! The bonus part is the price is really affordable! I can't wait to go back and have another order of their tasty Takoyaki!

Craving for Takoyaki and was lucky I found a joint at SM Makati food court. I got the scallops flavor, 6pcs for P119. That's the smallest order pala, they don't have 3pcs.

It was really flavorful, cooked just right. Big and meaty than most I've tried. Waiting time is not too long since they do have cooked ones already and are just reheated. I guess they have freshly-cooked of the original flavor only (octopus, the best-seller).

Now one of my go-to place for a takoyaki fix.

After many months , tried it again and so disappointed! Takoyaki are dry, almost no vegetables and like eating flour balls. What makes takoyaki is the sauce imagine my horror when I asked for extra sauce since the one they put into is only good for 2 pieces and I still have 4 that needs sauce, they said I need to pay P20!!!! Wow huh, I ended up not finishing the rest of it, not coming back. In the pics are leftovers that can't be eaten since its so dry.

Third time to be back! That goes to show their takoyaki is really good. 128077 I'm happy to say their crew is accommodating too. I kept bugging them if we could mix flavors in one order, I asked them 3x! 128514. Each crew I asked patiently explained, with a smile, how it would be bad for business. I'm just happy di sila nakulitan ng bongga sakin, or di nila ipinakita. Hehe

I only tried their takoyaki just this Monday and I'm already back a second time! 128523 Hihihi I've only tasted their original flavor and each piece has a large piece of octopus. That was surprising for P199 for 12pcs!128077

Oishidesu!!! 128523128523128523 (Delicous!!!)

AJ and I found ourselfves chaperoning 4 shopping ladies and the wait was almost unbearable. Thanks to the food court, our woes were wased a bit. The smell from the takoyaki drew us closer and on closer inspection, our eyes were delighted with what we saw. Golf ball sized takoyakis in 4 flavors; original (octopus), scallops, kani and mozarella, and bacon & cheese.

I introduced the little man AJ to the original flavor and between the two of us, we devoured 12 pcs of these wonderfully tasy morsels!

Each ball was generously filled w/cabbage and octopus and topped with copius amounts of sauce and that weird looking paper thin topping that moves when its hot!

The AJ had his fair share and could not help but shout his delight to his sisters when they arrived. Too late for them though! 128521128521128521

This small food stall would probably be one of the few reasons why I'd travel to makati.

Freshly made everyday this Japanese snack is definitely worth your money.

Hokkaido Takoyaki has a simple menu but their takoyaki balls are both flavorful and tasty.

They come in flavors such as Bacon and cheese, Kani and Mozzarella and scallops.

Yummy.

I finally found a place that serves decent takoyakis here in the Metro.. And it's tucked inside a supermarket! It's not as stuffed nor as soft as the ones in Japan but to be fair, these are far more affordable.128522 We ordered a 6-piece kani and mozzarella; it lacks a little kick from the flavors but nonetheless the best I've had (yet) here in Manila.

Hokkaido Takoyaki is my 2nd favorite takoyaki stall next to Samurai Takoyaki at SM Megamall. Best eaten while it's hot. Although what I just don't like with SM's foodcourt is that there are flies flying around.

Hokkaido Takoyaki in SM Makati food court would definitely top my list of the best takoyaki in the Metro!! Their regular/octopus is a must-try. Just be careful to not rush eating these glorious balls of delight so you won't burn your tongue. 128540

I was never really a fan of takoyaki but sometimes, when I see one, I buy impulsively. Seeing that Hokkaido offers various flavors, I had to check it out.

Hokkaido Takoyaki has the Original (octopus), Bacon & Cheese, Kani & Mozarella, and Scallops. You can order in 6, 9, or 12 pieces. I thought you could have more than 1 flavor in 1 order so it was disappointing when they said it's not possible. I don't get the point in that since there was no difference in the prices anyway.

Ended up ordering the Original 6pcs for PhP119. The sauce and toppings were tasty and went well with the takoyaki. There were just a few bits of the octopus though.
