Chicken was much too sweet for me. Ramen was obviously the instant kind. Don't get me started on the iced tea.

Holdak!!! What happened? I've longed for the juicy and yummy Korean chicken but WHAT HAPPENED?!
I appreciate you adding breakfast menu and some other drinks but where the hell did the yummy chicken go? I am sad. I know you are in "adjustment" phase (as you said) but please gimme those chicks back and the serving! From 2 full chunks to 2 half chunks. I am sad but I will give another chance some other time. *frowns*

Tried this new boneless fried chicken place in QC.
Jack Daniels- tasted like a thick barbecue sauce with caramelized onions
Padak- liked this more than the Jack Daniels but both of them were really good 128522
Cheese Ramen- Instant! but I finished it anyways
Salad- Their dressing is good and the cabbage was shredded to the ideal thickness.

Cheap and in my opinion, way better than Bonchon! 128516

As I left work yesterday I was hit by an unimaginable hunger pang that almost crippled me. So I decided to grab Holdak's new chicken wrap on the drive home. I saw someone post a picture of it on Instagram and I decided it was the cure for my rumbling tummy.

The wrap was nice and warm wrapped in wax paper and sealed with tape. I love Holdak's chicken so I also loved the chicken filling, they added some cabbage for added texture. My one complaint was that they rolled their wrap loosely. It's one of my pet peeves. I like my burritos, shawarma, gyros, Japanese maki, lumpia and wraps rolled real tight.

Each wrap costs php 65 and makes for a great snack!

So.. This is our second dinner. And since it is a holiday today, my officemates and I decided to hit the North and try this chicken joint!

And good thing we did! I love their chicken plus the skin - juicilicious and crunchy! 128525 In my opinion, I prefer this among all the other Korean chicken selection I've tried (Bonchon, Four Fingers and Chicken&Beer). 128020128019

We got to try all four flavors - Yangnyam, Spicy Yangnyam, Padak with spring onions and Jack Daniel's. My favorites are the Yangnyam original blend and Jack Daniel's with a tinge of sweetness. Yum!

And for the Cheese Ramen P95 a bowl, not so bad - I'd say this is better than Mitsuyado's haha! 128518. The Korean Pancake was just so-so, kind of rubbery as my officemate puts it. The Curry Fries were a bit spicy but manageable.

The chicken's definitely the highlight. I even bought home a box of 12 for my family and with the look on their faces and how fast they consumed their plates, it was all goooood! 128525128077

Will definitely come back for more when I get to pass by this place - they need to open up more branches! 127881128077

One of the "better" Korean fried chicken in town. Their Padak chicken is a must try! You must eat it with the spring onions and the sweet zesty sauce. You have to pay for parking though :(

I've been dining here from the time I discovered it this year thru an officemate.

Holdak may have a very limited menu compared with any other Korean QSRs, however, I prefer dining in here because of their menu per se.

Their korean chicken comes with 4 flavors: yangnyam, spicy yangnyam, padak and jack daniel. I like everything about their chicken since it is flavorful and the taste goes down to the meat unlike in other Korean QSRs. Also you may opt to pair the chicken with their salad.

It is my first time to order the cheese ramen. I am too curious with it since day 1 but then it was not yet available during our previous visits. Good thing they are now serving it and i was able to try. I like it because it is quite spicy, which suits the weather, and of course because of its cheesyness. I suggest sharing the cheese ramen with your buddy and ordering another menu to avoid the umay effect of eating the cheese ramen alone.

I love eating at Holdak, however, my time is too limited to enjoy the food due to the expensive parking at Mezza. It costs P25 on the first and every hour of parking.

Returning? YES! ✅

First things first: It's not better than Bonchon, because It's actually way differerent. But people usually compare these two, because both are supposed experts in the Korean fried chicken business. Although both offer good tasting fried chicken, the two, for me, caters to two different kinds of chicken lovers. Bonchon caters to the fried chicken lovers who go for the crispy and crunchy skin, while Holdak caters to those who enjoy a fried chicken which is more juicy, and I mean JUICY! in fact, every time I would take a bite of their Jack Daniels flavored chicken, the sauce would drip down the sides of my mouth, and it was flavorful too. My only comment about the sauce that it might be a little too sweet for some and ayun nakaka-umay (sorry I don't know what "nakaka-umay" in English is HAHA). I've yet to try their other flavors, but I'm giving this restaurant my approval.

They call this a Bon Chon wannabe, but for me at least, it's a better tasting KFC (Korean Fried Chicken). Plus, it's more affordable. My favorite is the Jack Daniels, but all the flavors taste good. Crisp and crunchy outside, juicy and tender inside.

The only downside I can think of is that you have to be careful not to shout "Tara mag-Holdak tayo!" when a cop is nearby.

we got the pyangnam one, which had sesame seeds on it that also made it taste peanuty that my dad said it must've had peanut butter on it. we also tried jack daniels which is sweet but not "thick" sweet but more like subtle. each piece contains some skin so eat sparingly if you're on the lookout for fatty food. but overall it was good and my family downed all 12 pcs in less than 15 minutes lol. btw the salad is mire like coleslaw :)
