Whenever I travel all I need is place to sleep. I don’t see the point why should I pay thousands of pesos on a high class hotel, when most of the time I will be out and discovering places. If I’m on tight budget I don’t mind staying on a dorm type hostel. I found Homitori after few days of searching a good place to stay in Davao City and who would not love this place, a good example of backpacker’s haven. You can get an overnight stay for as low as 5$. Isn’t it amazing?
The room has 2 bunk beds it’s clean and air-conditioned. Imagine staying on dormitory since I noticed that most of the people who are staying here are probably students and working in the City. They have a reasonable rate instead of paying your monthly apartment bill. Also, they are getting free wi-fi. Now beat that!
I was surprised with their facilities. Just so you know they have their own Computer shop, gym, common area where guests watch TV, spa and etc
The room is clean and the bed was okay. It’s comfortable enough for a short stay. I can’t guarantee the sleeping quality. It will depend on your room mate. I’m glad that I just had 1 roommate during my stay. Also, please note that guys and girls have a separate building.
The food is the major downside. Should I say I expected. Well at least corned beef for free breakfast. They served rice and egg. Okay! I just remind myself that I just paid less than 5$ hahahha. The location might be another issue. If we will base the city hall as the city center, it’s a bit far. It’s near the port and Chinatown if your familiar. I didn’t find it an issue since I find Davao City safe.
The service is acceptable and I find the staff attentive. If you’re planning to do a backpacking in Davao soon, you might consider staying in this place.
