Our 3rd day activity at Puerto Princesa in Palawan last Jan 1 New Years Day was island hopping at Honda Bay.

We woke up at 6am because Kara Travel and Tours will fetch us at the hotel at 8am. Glad it's not as early as the Underground River tour and that the time travel is around 45 minutes.

After the tours fetch us we pick up some guests at another hotel and proceed to the wharf but before that we had stop over sa rentahan ng mga swimming gears, there was this new policy that all will be required to wear boots because of the incident of a tourist who died in Coron who suspectedly died because of sea urchin so for everyone safety we were asked to rent and it's around 250 pesos. Unexpected gastos128513 then my daughter rented a fin also, and I bought a board short and rented a rashgard as I forgot to bring one,

When we got to the wharf we paid 60 pesos again for fees and bought mineral water from small stores nearby, it was freaking hot and were wearing boots before heading to the dock station.

So we hurriedly choose our seat and sa dulo kami naupo. Biggest mistake as this was our first time wla kami idea what will happen. Glad we still bring with is the plastic phone container and the waves was so big that day. We shouted aloud every time the waves splash into our face. Heto ako basang basa sa ulan... Lol. And the other group was laughing at us as we continued screaming. Wow this is really a water adventure.

Hubby and I don't have plans to swim but because basang basa kami so we have no choice but to swim na din.

Out itinerary consist of three island , starfish, Luli island and last is at cowrie island. The Honda bay tour cost 1,300 inclusive of lunch. We finished around 3pm and got back at the hotel by 4pm. A water experience I will never forget I tell you ! The islands were so beautiful 128525

Honda Bay.  After visiting Mitra's Ranch and The Crocodile Farm on our first day,  we still had a couple of hours to kill and more calories to burn. We decided to visit Honda Bay before dark.  We were greeted by a group of bats in flight while we were aboard the boat.  I like bats,  they dont creep me out nor bring me the skivvies.  The boatman said the bats are on their way to the nearest cave to take shelter.

Honda Bay Tour consists of four islands,  Luli,  Pandan,  Starfish and Cowrie Island.   The tour is okay,  i got a glimpse of Dos Palmas resort from afar,  not sure if it's still in operation now.  I don't remember much of the tour except for Statfish Island.  Why,  the little buggers are everywhere,  no one can forget that.

My favorite part of our trip. We visited three islands: Starfish island, Luli Island 128076 and Cowrie island. We rented snorkeling gear and aqua shoes. I suggest you to bring your own rashguard and aqua shoes if you have so you do not have to rent one. I really enjoyed the snorkeling part since we got to feed the fishes. Luckily, we have an underwater camera to capture those moments. In Cowrie Island, you can have a massage and henna tattoo. They also have water activities such as jetski, banana boat, and kayaking.

Island hopping at its finest! Super loved the islands and the foods. Boatmen are accommodating and fun to be with. They even took out photos with camera tricks per island. Hahaha. 128077🏼128077🏼

Loved starfish island than cowrie. Enjoy magsnorkeling! Whitish fine sand. Although mabato nga lang talaga. Kaya kelangan ng aqua shoes. Tas pag high tide nagiging half lang yung shore. :)

Kuyang nagtitinda ng graham ice candy, hindi mo kami pinuntahan sa luli island. How sad.

We devoted our third day in Puerto Princesa to the Honda Bay tour...

I just have to say that the people in Puerto Princesa are very organized in tours... We went to a beach stuff rental before going island hopping... They had everything! Beach shoes, waterproof camera cases, snorkeling gear, even shorts and towels! Hassle free!

We went to four different islands, starting with the Pambato reef, lunch at Starfish Island, forgot the name of the next island, then final stop was Cowrie island... Well, I'm a sucker for bangka rides, so I always enjoy the ride... We went snorkeling, kind of crowded with lots of tourists though... The beaches were okay... I'm
just glad at the conservation effort in the area... I enjoyed Starfish Island the most because we got to explore the mangroves and pick up the starfish!11088

#flashbackFriday 128513

First stop of our islandhopping tour was Honda Bay where we went snorkeling. It was kinda crowded coz of tourists and didn't see lots of fishes unlike when we went snorkeling in Boracay. 127946

The one in the photo is at Pambato Reef where we were able to feed the fishes. 128031128032127907

Our third day in Palawan is dedicated for our Island hopping in Honda Bay. Our tourist guide told us that it was supposed to be Hunda Bay and not Honda with the letter o because it is a Japanese word. It became Honda as it is always misspelled on sign boards and people just get used to it.

It is also called "The Last Frontier". Some of the island destinations in Honda Bay are Cowrie island, Pambato reef, Luli island, Starfish island, Pandan island and Dos Palmas. You can do some activities like snorkeling (the best), swimming, banana boat riding and more!

Tip: Be sure to get an underwater case for your point and shoot camera if you have one. 300php rent is so worth it!128076

The islands we visited were Cowrie, Pandan and Luli island. 9973127796128510 Twas my most memorable experience so far! 128522 Going to have an individual review for them soon. 128522

I Found Nemo! :)

We went to starfish island. It was a good place to go snorkeling, there different kinds of fishes it's like being in a large aquarium! :)
The beach was so beautiful, white sand, clear blue water and lots of fishes even near the shore. 128076

This picture was taken from one of the islands that weve visited in Honda Bay. Its called Luli island from the phrase "LUlubog at LIlitaw" because the middle part of the island has water when its high tide and none when its low tide.

The experience for me was OK. Pandan island (where most pics of Honda Bay is being taken) was okay. I think the photographers made it look really nice but when you go there its nothing different from Potipot Island in Zambales. I was expecting more i guess.

But im excited to see the underground river tomorrow morning! Will update you guys abt it!128515128515

Ciao!

The place to go island hopping in Palawan! The islands seem so near to each other but it actually takes a couple of minutes to go from one island to another.

Love the white sand beaches on the islands in this bay! The waters are clear and inviting. There's so much aquatic flora and fauna. And the sunrise and sunset at the bay is a sight to behold.

Isla Pandan, Starfish Island & Pambato Reef are the islands included in this day tour. You need to travel 1.5-2 hours hours by land to Honda Bay port. This is where your island hopping adventure begins! The earlier you are, the better. Especially when you're touring on your own to avoid long lines in the registration area.

127796 Isla Pandan 127796
1st stop. Farthest island from the port. Cottages are available for rent. This is where tourists usually have lunch. Lucky us buffet lunch is part of the package! We had steamed crabs, grilled fish, grilled liempo, cucumber salad & grilled chicken. Solid! But for those who didn't get a package, there are stores & tindera's selling fresh seafood which they'll also cook for you.

Several water activites like kayaking, paddle boarding & snorkeling are available on the island. We rented a kayak for P100/hr. The water was calm so there were no stressful moments for me. Chill lang! Snorkeling was also fun coz you don't have to go too far to see Nemo. As what the guide told us, the fishes in Palawan are Americans coz they prefer bread over rice. Lol!

The sand is white but not as fine as Boracay or Malapascua. It was a bit gloomy & drizzled a few times but on most parts, the weather was okay. Not too sunny at hindi rin bagyo levels!

128032 Starfish Island 128032
2nd stop. Alam nyo na marami starfish dito. Obvious naman di ba!? 128541 This island has a nice sand bar too. Perfect for pictorial moments! The sand is not as clean as in Isla Pandan coz of the dried Mangrove leaves on the island. It's also coarse due to the crushed sea shells. Snorkeling & beach bumming are the only activities here.

128026 Pambato Reef 128026
Last stop. This is a marine sanctuary in the middle of the ocean. Snorkeling is the only thing to do here. You'll see colorful & huge fishes as well as beautiful corals.

Tipid Tip: Rent your snorkeling gear in Isla Pandan. It's cheaper compared to the shops along the highway. Better if you bring your own. That's what we did.

Island hopping in Honda bay was a nice experience. Cowrie island, Pambato reef, and Luli island are some of the few we visited. My advice is to walk around the islands. There's so much to explore. Besides, you didn't go to the beach to hide under the shade, right?
