My family was here yesterday to visit their roots. We decided to have our lunch at Horizon Cafe located at the 21st floor of Injap Tower, before we head to Dumangas. I am assigned for more than 2 months now in Iloilo but I haven't tried the place since most of the reviews that I read about their food. Most say that the food is just okay.

My uncle was a good friend of the chef. He made a special set for us yesterday. Something he is confident in making and he grew up with eating. Didn't bother to ask about the dish but he said that they call it Nasi Lemak, a fragrant rice dish that they normally eat for breakfast and lunch back in Malaysia. It was served with boiled egg, anchovies, traditional paste, fried chicken on the side and steamed rice. It looked very simple but it was really good. The dish could have been better if he used pandan rice instead of plain steam rice but it was a special request on short notice. He also gave us some vegetable curry on the side and it was the perfect match for our set meals.

The chef mentioned that he pulled out this dish, together with chicken rice, from the menu because it's not something that people in Iloilo will have for lunch or dinner. My uncle said that he was able to try Chef Weng's chicken rice before and. It was as good as the ones they have in Singapore.

I get it now. Horizon Cafe serves dishes from all over but mostly western as I have observed. The reason why not most people like eating here is probably because the chef is not also as confident in cooking these kinds of dishes. I suggest that they bring back Malaysian dishes because he can really cook badass Malay food.

The view was definitely stunning and we enjoyed it as much as we enjoyed our food!

4 stars because they can do better with service.

Thank you to Chef Weng for accommodating us with our requests.

The price is too pricey for the amount of serving and quality of food that they have. I had breakfast here once I arrived from the airport. They have very limited options for breakfast too which is quite disappointing.

For the service, it's good naman, the waitresses are very attentive.

For the location and view, quite fascinating because it's located at the 21st floor and you have a view of the SM Coty Iloilo and majority of Mandurriao.

Very few servings and very limited breakfast options. There were like only 4 options. The only thing that is good about it is the view from the 21st floor. Inhave yet to try their lunch and dinner dishes.

Breakfast meal was underwhelming.
I ordered a Longganisa Silog. This is what I got.
It's not a longganisa but it tastes somewhat like a longganisa.
Rice was not sinangag (fried).
So I guess this meal should be called Longganisa flavored sausage rice meal. 🤔

Coffee on the other hand was 128077🏼128077🏼128077🏼 128076🏼💯
It's brewed coffee with condensed milk.
Perfect balance of bitterness, creaminess and sweetness.

Skip the silogs and just order coffee and their asian entrees.

Great food, ambiance and overlooking Iloilo as a Bonus since it's located on the 21st floor. I think this is the highest restaurant in Iloilo city 128522 Might I suggest better parking though. The parking lot is about 100 meters away but there is a shuttle ready to take you to and from, it would still be best that they have parking at walking distance.
