During our last night in Iloilo, we stayed at the Hotel del Rio. The hotel looks simple on the outside, but quite elegant and classy on the inside.

Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Beds are amazingly soft and atmosphere of the room is really nice....though the view is not much of anything.

The breakfast buffet is okay as well. Limited choices, but food is delicious for the most part. The cakes we had for dinner here were quite good too.

The reason I gave this place a three is for the following reasons;
1. A/C in our room was not at all cold, even if we turned it all the way up. My colleague had to order an electric fan to help make the room a little bit colder.
2. There were only 3 sockets in the entire room. One in the bathroom, one by the fridge for the hot water, and one for the TV. There were two sockets by the bed, but for some reason it was blocked and we couldn't plug anything in. Even the staff couldn't plug in our stuff. Which leads to...
3. Staff offered to get us an extension cord to provide us with extra sockets. We waited a really really long time, only to find out they had none available! Me and roomie had to take turns charging our stuff for work, like phone chargers and power banks.

A little bit of a let-down considering how nice the place looks.

On Christmas day, my boyfriend, my bestfriend and I went to Igmaan, Hotel del Rio's pool side restaurant. I wanted to eat paella but the waiter advised that it may take 45 minutes to prepare. I settled for fillet mignon instead. Surprisingly, it took 45 minutes to get served too! However, food quality was great and waiters were attentive.
