So disappointing. Was so excited to eat here because of the positive reviews and the really nice and appetizing photos online but meh. โ˜น๏ธ Should have brought my family somewhere else.

Food - MEH. Overpriced.

*Ribs - Puro buto. Not that tender and was kind of dry and tough to eat.
*Porkchop - Expectations vs. Reality. Was expecting it to be grilled but the porkchop was deep fried. Whyyyyy??? It was super dry and bland. Also, konting cheese and no bacon!! ๐Ÿ™„ So paano po siya naging three cheese & bacon stuffed porkchop? ๐Ÿค”
*Seafood Basket - puro breading ๐Ÿคจ
*Salad - i kennat. 128123

Service was BAD. Super slow. Servers are hard to call and are not even approachable and helpful.

Also, they gave us the wrong bill TWICE. Yung totoo??

Tip: Eat somewhere else.

Do yourself a favor & dine here if ever youre in Clark area!

House of Chops has great service. Although "Chops" are their specialty, we opted to get other kinds of meals when we ate here. The cheapest in their chops section was 700php, if I remember correctly. We had the steak rice that my sibling liked so much, 160php good for 2 persons. We also had their Truffle pasta which I liked. Their salad with the peanut dressing was simple but tasted fresh and light. But the MVP that night goes to their Pesto stuffed chicken rolls with marinara sauce, 290php.

Serving is generous. Almost everything in the menu can be shared by 2-3 people. Would love to go back for their specialty chops!

House of Chops is one of the restaurants we visited for our #ForkSpoonManilaxDiscoverMNL Pampanga Food Crawl, a collaborative project with @ForkSpoonManila and @DiscoverMNL. We went there on a Sunday at lunch time and it was almost full. Even before trying their food out, it became obvious to us that families love to dine here during weekends.

The location of the place is great, strategic, if I may say. It is near both Clark main gate and Clark Friendship gate. It's just along the highway, too.

If you're a fan of American diners, then you'll surely love the ambiance. I like their mural and the chopping boards with quotes displayed on their walls. Also, though the place is full, it isn't noisy so you really get to share stories over a hearty meal with your loved ones. Or spend your quiet time alone while indulging on good food. Whichever works for you. ;)

Their food is quite famous for coming in big servings. We were 6 in the group and they served us Crackling Pork Belly Roast (featured in the photo), Three-cheese and Bacon Stuffed Double Cut Pork Chop (yes, that exist), Slow Roasted US Beef Belly with Peppercorn Gravy, and Country Fried Chicken Steak for entrees. We had Steak Fried Rice and Cheesy Broccoli Rice, too! We weren't able to finish everything because it was probably good for up to 8 pax. If we're talking about value for money, I'd say you get more than what you paid for. Everything was too good!

Too bad we weren't able to try their desserts because we're so stuffed already. I guess that calls for a couple more visits!

Before wrapping this up, I'd like to highlight that the owners, Atoy and Chay Tayag, were so warm and accommodating. Same goes to all their staff. So you come for the ambiance, the food, and the people. :)

P.S.: It's been a little over a year since my last food review so forgive me for being a little rusty. :)

We went here on a Sunday (Feb 14) right after the Hot Air Balloon Festival just right across, which by the way I find like a total rip off (but that's a different story). Anyway, there was still a wait even if it was already past dinner time but we were lucky that some of the people listed ahead of us didn't show up when it was their turn to be seated. So after 5-10 minuntes, it was our turn.....

128525 we ordered pork crackling (the best seller according to the server) and it was sooooo good. no need for gravy or any other sauce, it is flavorful. It costs about Php660 if I remember it right and comes with your choice of 2 sides.

128077๐Ÿผ i liked the steak rice which can be one of the two sides for some extra bucks, Php80. I did not like it combined with the pork crackling but it is delicious in itself.

128078๐Ÿผ i did not like the truffle pasta. it was dry and noodles were a little overcooked.

128078๐Ÿผ the interior looks not complete yet (maybe because they just opened a few months ago) but there are chopping boards with some quotes hanging on the wall which I hope would turn out really good when they eventually finish decorating

128073๐Ÿผ I will go back to try other foods from the menu and to see how they will dress the place up (i am really hoping that they are still going to do something about the interior)

I believe this resto recently opened. So let me be kind enough to focus my review just on the food since ambiance is work in progress and service crew are still on their learning curve.

We had their Caesar Salad. The dressing was well balanced with savoury notes and herby undertones. Its not too salty, thus giving enough room for me to add parmegiano origiano and some freshly ground pepper for an added kick. By the way, they are generous with the dressing, which is something I prefer because it masks the boring taste of the leafy stuff. They are using cherry tomatoes, which adds personality to the dish.

127860 Mains

We went ahead for their Slow Roasted Angus belly (see the pic). They say its good for two, but that is highly debatable. Its a huge slab of tender, moist, aromatic, and sinful beef. It comes with roasted vegetables in butter and olive oil. Its one of the best roasted Angus I've tried. Aside from the full flavor of beef (as it should be 128514), one can only imagine the pre-work done in infusing the herbs and spices into the meat and all the time to slow cook it at the right temperature so as not to dry it out. The gravy perfectly matches, but i think the beef itself suffices for a great mains. There are 6 of us, thats why we ordered three servings. We managed to finish 2 and a half, because it's really huge!

To go with it, we had roasted beef rice. Its similar to a cilantro fried rice only that they used the oil from the beef and added chunks of the beef, with rosemary and thyme. I tasted hints of butter and mashed baked garlic. I love it!

I know its perfect to pair the mains with a good glass of cabernet or shiraz, but i got excited with their smoothies, so I went ahead for their strawberry milkshake - which did not disappoint. Yes they used strawberry ice cream as a base, but i found hints of emulsified strawberry that made the texture a bit more exciting. I just hope they used carmen's best, it would pass as gourmet. This also served as my dessert. My conscience was already screaming at me.

Overall, as i committed to review only the food, this place is a full five! The skill and techniques applied to make such comforting dish suggests the kitchen's commitment in making kapampangan food world class. However, considering its found only at Clark, Angeles in Pampangga, future ratings should fairly scrutinize the ambiance and service in due time assuming one would drive from Manila to here. But given the circumstances, I believe the House of Chops did not fail the palate. We'll be back! 128077

Get the ribs and the pork belly. Then have it with steak rice. You can thank me later.
