Had a sumptuous and wonderful Valentine's lunch with my son yesterday at our favorite steak house of wagyu. We ordered they're Valentine's menu promo for Php 2,910.00 w/cat and service charge. 350g grade 8 sirloin cut. Enough for small stomach for two. Sarap talaga... Pumpkin soup with they're on the house freshly baked baguette with butter, Caesar salad, mash potato with veggies and heart shape pannacota with strawberry drizzle good enough to fill your hungry stomach. Sulit and quality! Yum yum!

There was a time when I got so hooked to Groupon sites. I go crazy over the discounts and I end up with coupons or gadgets I want to believe I really need. One of the good deals I recently bought was vouchers for the House of Wagyu Stone Grill.

Hello, House of Wagyu Stone Grill!

We opted to claim our vouchers at the Eastwood branch and the place wasn’t packed at all. There were only about two other tables occupied when we arrived. We got a table near the window which we thought to be a good spot.

As soon as I handed my vouchers, our wait basket and soup were served.

The soup was served warm and it was creamy yet not that heavy as the serving was just right.

The salad’s serving was pretty small as well but it was just right as the main course was the highlight of the meal.

Finally, the main star—a Grade 8 tenderloin steak on a stone grill—arrived. It was lightly seasoned with salt and pepper with mashed potatoes and a few vegetables on the side.

We were instructed to cut bite sizes of the meat and let it cook on the stone grill for a while before eating it. We were also given an extra “HOT” stone grill when our stone grill started to cool down.

The meat was indeed tender and was the type that melts in your mouth. No hard chewing needed. Plus, eating the steak without gravy made us enjoy the meat more. I went to steak heaven.

Coffee was served last and it was a great way to end the filling meal.

I will definitely try the Grade 10 steak when I reached my 3rd anniversary with work! Or on my birthday, Christmas… or Halloween!

Christmas came early for us this year!127876

Getting invited by House of Wagyu Stonegrill for lunch was definitely awesome!128525 Receiving that message from Peanut D made me rearrange my schedule! No way am I missing out on that steak! No way!128513

Carla M and I were excitedly awaiting our lunch date last Saturday... We were already imagining the steak a couple of days prior! Saturday finally came and it was agonizing to wait for lunchtime! Nevermind the bumper to bumper traffic!128517 We were both so prompt and ready to attack when we met up in Eastwood...

We proceeded to House of Wagyu with a spring in our step! Wagyu!!! Yey!!!128525

What's the big deal about Wagyu anyway? It's one of the most premium cuts of beef in the world. Wagyu literally means Japanese (Wa) cattle (Gyu)... The meat is marbled with unsaturated fat, with a higher percentage of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids... It's a better kind of fat than the usual beef we find in the supermarket. That's also the reason for the juiciness of the meat! Wagyu also has a distinctive flavor that is derived from the process of growing these cattle-- they are grain fed with minimal activity to keep the meat soft and tender...

So back to last Saturday's lunch! House of Wagyu, here we come!128522

The restaurant itself is simple and very expansive, with a lot of seats available for their guests. It was decorated in muted colors, giving a feel of understated elegance. You know that it is fine dining all the way!

We were welcomed by Sonny and Gerald, their store managers. We were then led to a table overlooking the street. Their staff were very formal and very very nice... Our complimentary bread arrived immediately. Our glasses of water and iced tea soon followed. The staff also asked if we were ready for our appetizers... Yes we were! Bring it on!

127822 Pan con Tomato
An order comes with six bag slices rubbed with garlic and topped with cheese, tomatoes and anchovies. Each piece was like a mini pizza in taste and consistency. A good choice for an appetizer. I would have eaten more if not for the thought of the steak that was about to come!128515

127858 Cream of Corn soup
We were served with their soup of the day... The presentation was really pretty that I hesitated to take my first sip! It was light, leaving lots of space in my tummy... I liked the subtle flavors of this soup!

128003 Grade 8 Wagyu Ribeye Steak (220g)
Why hello there, my precious!128525

It was a sight to behold... A beautifully marbled piece of meat sizzling on top of a slab of volcanic stone... It's an assault to the senses! The sizzle, the heat coming off of the stone, the slowly changing color of the Wagyu, and that smoky smell wafting across the restaurant! It is an experience in itself...

We took the obligatory pictures and watched as our steaks continued to cook... These volcanic rocks are actually heated on a special oven for around 6 hours and they retain heat for 20-30 minutes, allowing the meat to fully cook to your preferred doneness...

Gerald briefed us on their suggested manner of eating the steak. The steak is only seasoned with salt and pepper, no gravy or sauces... They recommend that you slice small bite-sized pieces at a time to keep the meat from becoming overcooked... Don't slice the steak all the way through! Don't keep turning the steak either! Keep it simple and be careful of the hot stone!128513

It was phenomenal! Almost no resistance when slicing thru the meat... And it is absolutely true that it is soft, tender and juicy... Melt in your mouth piece of meat! The flavor was something else! No need for butter, herbs, steak sauce or gravy! Just pure meat goodness from start to finish! Carla and I even tried to cook the steak to well done and it maintained it's juiciness! So good!128525

The steak was so good on it's own, but Gerald said that there are still some guests that prefer theirs' with steak sauce or Worcesterchire sauce... These are all available, but they do recommend at least tasting the wagyu by itself first...

By the way, the steak is served with your choice of sides... They served us baked potato and fries with veggies... Can't go wrong with a classic combination!128077

We were surprised when they brought out dessert! Both of us didn't think that dessert would be great at a restaurant that specializes in steak... But we were so wrong! Both desserts were served on the same natural volcanic stone, now frozen overnight to retain the cold... No need to hurry up taking pictures, because the ice cream barely melted due to the cold stone (yes, literally like it!128521)

127824 Poached Pears Ala Mode
Pears poached in a red wine reduction served with vanilla ice cream. If you prefer light desserts that aren't too sweet, this is the perfect way to end the meal...

127851Flourless Chocolate Cake
Their version can stand up to the best of them. The cake was scrumptious, dark chocolate cake with rich ganache in between the dense sponge. They incorporated rock salt to their recipe, which kept it from being one-dimensional... Paired with vanilla ice cream to keep it from being too salty... I really loved this one! I cpuldn't believe that each branch bakes their own cakes in the store... It's not outsourced and they don't have a commissary, you have to check them out if you want a taste...128522

By the way, if you are a meat lover but your SO or your family aren't, they do have salad, pasta and seafood available as well... Plus, they also have bigger cuts of their famed steak, good for sharing. They offer up to 750g, which is already good for 3 people to share... So don't hesitate to come over and try their food!128525

Gerald talked to us more about the wagyu. They fly it in from Australia, where some of the best farms for wagyu beef are... There are several grades of wagyu beef available in their store. We were served with Grade 8, but Grade 10 and 12 are available... Let me tell you, I cannot wait to try their Grade 12 steak! I was impressed by the taste and tenderness of the Grade 8 already... For sure their Grade 12 will be thru the roof!128077 A 220g Grade 12 ribeye steak will set you back P4800, but if you are a meat lover (which I am128525), it is something you would really want to try!

And today is THE DAY!!!128155 Today marks the launch of the House of Wagyu's Club Rare White Gift Card! It gives you an intial P3000 that you can spend on their steaks in any of their four branches...

But wait, there's more!128525

The Club Rare White Card doubles as a discount card, offering the bearer 10% discount on their suceeding visits... Plus, it's also a rewards card wherein you accumulate points (P1000=1 point)! 20 points will automatically upgrade your card to the Club Rare Red, which offers even more discounts at 15%! Once you reach 30 points, you become part of the elite Club Rare Gold... This entitles you to a 30% discount on all steak spend! Nice, right???128525128525128525

But wait, there's more! Again!!!128513

Use this card from December 5 to 20, and you automatically get 20% off!!! DOUBLE YOUR DISCOUNT!!! Really perfect for the holiday season! It's also a great gift to your parents, relatives or friends! I'm so excited to try mine! *My parents are so G to try the card out with me!*

As if you need more prodding, but I did ask Gerald if they get a lot of celebrities or politicians dining in their restaurant... THEY DO!!! We talked about the famous people who dined there and their strict policies when entertaining their VIP guests... You never know who you will see dining in one of their branches!128522

By the way, I just wanted to add that you can buy their steaks and enjoy them at home... You can choose your steak from their freezers and try to replicate the goodness from the privacy of your own kitchen... We did observe several guests buying the frozen steak!

More good news!

If their Eastwood, Greenhills, MOA or Podium branches aren't too accesible for you, they do have plans of opening another branch in the Makati/ BGC area next year... No definite plans yet, just a goal to bring high quality steak to more people!128077

I just want to commend Gerald for the impeccable service! He was so knowledgable, polite, and absolutely well-mannered! A perfect representative of the House of Wagyu! He entertained us with anecdotes and made sure that we were well-fed, happy and had a great time... Which we absolutely did! You can really feel his passion for his job and I always appreciate that!128077

Thank you so much to House of Wagyu for the invite and for taking good care of us while we were there! Thank you so much again to the looloo crew for thinking of us and inviting us! You know we are karen like that!128514 and of course, to my lunch and chika date Carly! I had a great time! I miss our badminton sessions! Hay life!128513

Peanut D messaged me last week asking if I’m free on December 5th. I had a morning badminton session scheduled with #teamclingy badminton buddies then supposed to meet up with former officemates in the afternoon. Luckily, my friends rescheduled so I was able to say G! I had hesitations when she said it’s in Eastwood, but when she already revealed that it’s at House of Wagyu, it was an obvious YES. G. GO. GAME. (HASHTAG BLESSED 128588🏼). No one says no to wagyu! I was even happier when she also told me I’ll be with my fellow #teamclingy tita April H. 128513

I met up with Doc at 1PM before heading to the restaurant. Traffic in C5 and Libis was really bad, I thought I was already late. Sonny and Gerald, their store managers, welcomed us. They were so hands on and really took good care of us the whole time.

The placed looks so classy and elegant like other fine dining restaurants. As soon as you enter, you can already smell the appetizing aroma of freshly grilled steak. 128517

Minutes after Doc and I were seated, they started to serve our food. They gave us a glass of iced tea and complimentary bread with butter for starters. And then the feast began…

127813 Pan Con Tomato
6 crunchy baguette slices topped with garlic, anchovies, tomatoes, and lots of cheese. I knew I can’t have tomatoes but I wanted to try this out, so YOLO was yesterday's mantra. It was something light and tasty to whet our appetites before indulging in our main course.

127861 Soup of the Day
Yesterday's soup of the day was a bowl of rich and creamy Carrot Soup. I would’ve finished the whole serving but I had to stop myself because I need to save some space for the steak.

128046 Grade 8 Rib Eye Stone Grill Steak
This beautiful piece of meat was the star of our lunch. We got giddy when Gerald came out carrying two slabs of rib eye steak. OMG. HELLO, 220G OF PURE BEEF HEAVEN. It was so tender, juicy and melt-in-your-mouth. Took no effort to chew! Their steaks are imported from Australia and are known for its intense marbling and taste. The best way to enjoy it is without any steak sauce. It was perfect seasoned with just salt and pepper. You get to enjoy its full, unadulterated flavor. 128155 Baked potato, potato wedges and some vegetables were served on the side to complement the steak.

At House of Wagyu, they serve the meat on a volcanic stone grill. These stone grills are heated in a special oven for about 6 hours until it reaches the desired temperature. Serving it on a stone grill makes it easier for you to control the doneness of your steak, plus it stays piping hot until the last piece. Gerald briefed us on their suggested way of eating the steak. Just slice a small, bite size piece, sear both sides, and savor every bite. Ahhh, yummy!

Don't forget to wear the bib to prevent staining your clothes with the oil spattering as the beef sizzles.

127824 Poached Pears Ala Mode
This dessert was surprisingly good! Light, sweet and very refreshing to the palate. Like their other desserts, it was served on a stone grill that they freeze overnight.

127851 Flourless Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream
An impressive dessert that every true chocolate lover will like. They sprinkled some sea salt to this rich, moist, and fudgy flourless chocolate cake to achieve that sweet and salty contrast. Also served on a frozen stone grill, you get to enjoy the ice cream at your own pace because it doesn’t melt easily.

We washed down everything we ate with a cup of coffee and tea. Doc opted for a cappuccino served in a very cute mug while I chose to have the chamomile tea.

Their prices might seem a bit pricey at first glance, but I believe it's worth it considering the taste and quality of their steaks. This is a good place for lunch or dinner during special occasions. Or if you just feel like indulging in a good meal once in a while, then go here and you won't be disappointed. 128522

And since Christmas is fast approaching and we all know it's a season for sharing and giving, why not give your steak-loving loved ones the best gift they can ever receive (or you might want to give it as a Christmas gift for yourself too 128521). House of Wagyu recently launched their Club Rare Gift Cards. You can get them a Club Rare White Gift Card which comes with a P3,000 consumable amount and also entitles cardholder to 10% off on their succeeding visits. Those who will use the card anytime between December 5 to 20 can avail of their Double Your Discount Promo and enjoy 20% discount!!!

You can also earn rewards by accumulating points every time you use the card. Every P1,000 spent is equivalent to 1 point. Earn 20 points and you'll be upgraded to Club Rare Red Card, which means you enjoy a bigger discount (15%) too! Add 30 more points and you’ll be promoted to being part of their Club Rare Gold cardholders and enjoy 20% discount every time you dine here. More steaks, more fun! 128525

Thank you House of Wagyu for the super yummy lunch! Braving the traffic going to Eastwood was really worth it. All your staff were so nice and accommodating. Special mention to your store manager, Gerald who was commendable. He communicates effectively with customers and showed that he knows your products by heart. 128077🏼

For the nth time, thank you sooooo much |ooloo and Pea for the invite! 128513 And of course, thank you Doc April for the company and never ending chikas while we stuff ourselves with so much food. 128536 Twas a fun afternoon indeed.

I understand that this place is supposed to be fine dining, however, while the interior and price and set up of the place appears to be for fine dining, I feel that it is not because I had to sort of cook/prepare my own steak.

You can't really ask for the preferred doneness of your steak as your beef slab will be served on a hot stone. It will sizzle and more or less cook in front of you, which is why you will be provided with bibs. If you go here, the steak's fat/juice will more or less hit a part of your body at some point, your face or arms. I suggest you stay away from the hot stone as soon as it is served to avoid these mishaps. Thereafter, one of the staff members attending you will tell you when it's time to flip the steak to cook the other said.

The steak (rib eye) was tender but you have to hurry eating because the longer it stays on the stone, the more cooked it will be and it might get overcooked. It was good but it was not that great for me. I still prefer Melo's steaks. I hated the fact that I smelled like steak after eating there. No doubt about it, the steak here was juicy and delicious. It was very tender and even without any sauce, the meat was delicious on its own.

We also tried the other items on the menu like the oyster rockefeller (Php500). It was not that good, it was just okay, serving was small ad the oysters were not fresh. The pan con tomato was terrible. The bread was not fresh and the sauce was just okay but considering that this place is supposed to be for fine dining, I was quite disappointed with it.

Note that when you enter, the staff members are accommodating insofar as immediately taking you to your seat. From getting your order onwards, service was not that good. It was hard to catch their attention and there were very few customers at that time. The bill and the change took forever to arrive.

For the same price, I could get better or equally good tasting steaks that I don't have to prepare myself which would be served with better service at Melo's (and without me smelling like steak afterwards). Also the other items in Melo's menu taste good unlike here.

I guess some would enjoy the cooking/preparing experience and the steak on its own is good and tender. But I take into account the service expected of this restaurant and they just did not meet my expectations. It's a nice experience but I probably won't go back here anymore and would just have my steak at Melo's or some other place. I am giving it 4 stars as the steak was very good but it is an experience I am not willing to go through again unless I am not paying for it. 128540

FREE DINNER! Dad was feeling very generous and treated my mom, my sister and me to a steak dinner.

I've always enjoyed eating here. Service is impeccable!

I got what my dad got, with the sides. This is a tenderloin grade 8. It was just perfect. The soup was good, it was mushroom that day. We also ordered the Waldorf salad. I would have wanted the classic Cesar but my mom wanted the Waldorf. I got to taste the scallops from my mom and it was perfectly seared.

I'm wishing that dad would become very very very generous soon and bring us back again 128514

After taking a bite of their steak, first thought was that I really had to come back to this place!! It's sort of fine dining and the prices aren't wallet friendly but the steak is definitely worth it.

Honestly I forgot the grade but we got their tenderloin because they had a discount. It was around 3k+ then became 2k or something.

All the steaks come with soup and mashed potato with veggies on the side. The potato soup was just okay. I LOVED their mashed potatoes because it was smooth and had small lumps + it was pack with flavor. They also managed to make the steamed vegetables tasty!

When the steak came, it looked raw but that's what the stone grill is for. They made us wear these bibs haha so the sizzling oil wouldn't get on our clothes.

This is my first time tasting legit Wagyu steak and I have to say that it is heaven in every bite! It was easy to cut through and tasted good on its own but I prefer any steak with A1 sauce.

Their seafood cream pasta was really good as well but we weren't able to finish it. I had one steak all to myself 128055

Pricey but definitely one of my favorite places to eat now!

It's one of those places where you get to have good steak, AND have absolutely no chance of another person screwing up how you want it done.

Classy place with comfy seats and waiters who never let your glass of water go empty. They also have those awesome air cleaning machines overhead so the whole place won't smell like dead cow smoke.

I have no idea what I got because I didn't pay attention, but it was good and fatty and felt and tasted like steak flavored butter, which is how wagyu beef is supposed to taste and feel.

The soup was great, but nothing too special. This is the first restaurant I went to that got steamed vegetables right - the cauliflower was crisp yet didn't taste like soil, and the broccoli was flavorful. They also served perfect mashed potatoes, just the right kind of chunky, not too creamy.

Bonus points for the pepper mill! They look nice, they actually work well, and the peppercorns are fresh.

Four stars just because a stone loses heat over time and because of that I only got a good crust on one side of the beef.

Fair warning to those who like their steaks medium to well done: you will have to slice the steak once it gets to you so you can grill smaller, thinner pieces while the stone is still hot.

Hi foodies I'm here at wagyu stone grill Eastwood my fancy place whenever my mouth wants to taste awesome steak. I'm so tamad to go to podium due to rain and traffic so we decided to dine here, sadly the 750 grams is always not available, go for the 750 grams worth the money it's good for two too. But don't done here in Eastwood the 750 grams porterhouse or T-bone always not available, you will force to order the graded one. The good news is the graded one was the best!
