It was a chicka night out with high school best buds and since one of our friends went home from UK, we had non-stop chickahan and laughters! This made us really hungry, wanting to get to the nearest restaurant. We originally wanted to try the Cafe in the hotel where she checked in but the menu was boring. We went out and found this nearby Chinese Resto and all agreed to settle there.

Huat Chan has been a favorite among Tarlaquenos because the food is cheap and the serving is huge. We ordered the following - Yang Chow Fried Rice, Hakaw, Salt & Pepper Boneless Spareribs, Pork Sisig and Garlic Pechay.

I tried the fried rice which was okay. It had generous heaping of ham and tidbits of veggies, as well as small shrimps. But then it did not click. There was something missing - maybe a little more saltiness or flavor.

Then the Salt & Pepper Spareribs which did not have the strong flavor of salt & pepper. It was just your ordinary breaded pork cutlets. It was a little crunchy though.

Last dish that I tried was the Hakaw. Was a little surprised that it was not served in the wooden something traditionally used to steam dimsum. What's more surprising was the abundance of ground meat inside with a small shrimp right in the middle of the meat ball. It was more like eating siomai than hakaw. Gah!

Didn't bother trying the pechay and sisig.

If you're not really choosy when it comes to Chinese food, this place will satisfy. Given the price and the serving, pwede na din. Hindi na din luge! LOL
