Because of work, I had to fly to Cebu for the week. It's actually my first time here so it's good that our client provided a driver just for us (for the entire week!) There were no restaurants around the area of their office (just a 7-11 but we already had breakfast there ) so we had to go to SM Seaside which was a 15 minute drive away. Close enough! Anyway, the mall looked great! Although most of the stores are still closed since the mall is new. Most of the restaurants were fast food (not healthy) so we gave Hukad a try
THE PLACE (5/5)
They had a big floor area with high ceilings and a beautiful view of the sea The place had warm tones all over which gives a very comforting feeling. It's a perfect place to have a laid back lunch
THE SERVICE (3/5)
Service was just fine. Servers were kind but kind of slow. Maybe because the place was so big and we were seated at the end of the room.
THE FOOD (4/5)
BABY PRAWNS SINIGANG [P220+] ➖4/5️
I looooved their broth. It was super authentic sinigang: very sour with the right amount of saltiness. It was love at first sip for me. And considering that I'm not a sinigang person, that statement means a lot. There were 5 pcs of prawns but they were overcooked. If not for that, this dish would have received 5 stars.
PORK BICOL [P150+] ➖3/5️
Their pork bicol express was on the average side. It didn't have the authentic taste of bicol express because it lacked the gata flavor. I don't know. It's just kind of weird but not bad. Although I loved the saltiness from the bagoong 🏻 The only complaint I have with this is that their pork was mostly fat
Plain/ Garlic rice is unlimited for only P44. Not bad right? Hukad is actually quite cheap. The dishes were good for 2-3 people. For 3 people, our total bill didn't even exceed P500 so the value for money is definitely there Overall, it was a satisfactory experience. I'll definitely be back on days I need a comforting broth of sinigang 🏻
P. S. There's already two branches in Metro Manila. One in Trinoma and the other in S'Maison.

Ate here for lunch on our last day in Cebu.
Ordered baked scallops, grilled blue marlin, ngohiong, laing, sinigang and lechon belly.
I loved the scallops and lechon belly! The scallops were so bitin! The sinigang and ngohiong was good as well. The blue marlin had a little muddy or foul aftertaste. Maybe it wasn't cleaned well but I was still able to finish it. Hahaha. I wasn't able to taste the laing because I was too busy with the lechon belly and scallops.
Anyway, I was so full after so I stood up and walked around the place. The view from the far end of the restaurant was amazing! It had the view of the sea that was very relaxing.
Service was awesome. Everyone was nice and even asked us after if we had any suggestions on how to improve their menu or service. Plus points for that!
Overall, I'm giving this place 5 stars for outstanding customer service. Kindess goes a long way you know.
(Posting this a month after going to Cebu and I miss it! Hoping to try more good food when I come back to Cebu. Haha!)
