Almost 30-40 mins for a double cheese burger with burnt patties and unseasoned fries? Huhuhu...not worth it even if it's only 140 pesos.

The restaurant is pretty cute. Very Baler vibes! 127754 However, you might want to think twice before entering. The service is so bad! The reviews here are pretty accurate. You have to wait for an hour upon ordering!! The resto wasn't even full. The food? Ok. Nothing spectacular. Too many insects flying around too.

One aspect of a vacation is to find good eats. Unfortunately the good eats wasn't found at Hungry Surfer (HS). Though the service given was above par, the food did not compliment the name of the restaurant.

The first day of visiting HS, we were served with a illegible, handwritten menu. Blue marlin sashimi and a chili burger was ordered.

Overview: Not fresh. The sashimi tasted like it was left on a warm setting for quite some time. Whether one is a sashimi connoisseur, or not, you can taste the "fishiness" that a fresh fish should not have.

Also, the chili in the chili burger was very salty. The salinity overpowered both the chili and the beef.

During the second day of our stay in Baler, we decided to try HS once more. We thought maybe, just maybe we went on a wrong day. We ordered an all-meat pizza.

Overview: Not good. The crust tasted as if it were left in the freezer for months, if not, years. It had it a texture that of cardboard--and yes, I've eaten cardboard during my childhood days. The taste of the crust radiates to your nose to where it becomes more unappealing than it already is. Toppings, again, too salty.

I'm not one to take anything from HS. It seems like they have been there for quite some time, so they're doing something right. It just so happens that "right" didn't come my way.

A big improvement in their food must be done. I would love to give HS 5 stars at my next go-around in Baler.

This place is delicious. If you're looking for some good and affordable food around Baler, try Hungry Surfer. It's situated inside a hotel (the name fails me right now). Try the squid heads and their pizza. Trust me, it's so creamy! Only downside is it takes them 30-45 minutes for your food to be served.

I went here the first time in 2009, I remembered it because the interior was so cute. And it still is! I suggest people to go here ahead of your stomachs desire to eat because their service is very slow. As usual.

Sorry I got no food pic except for this. Hope this will be helpful to those who are planning to check on the place the next time you visit baler. This is along the baywalk on sabang beach just a few walks away from costa pacifica.

We grabbed their breakfast buffet which costs 180pesos per head and it starts from 8am to 10am. The buffet covers the drinks from juice to hot drinks, which is made when ordered so make sure to ask the waiters cause they sometimes forget to offer.

Food choices were bountiful enough considering the price, there was plain and garlice rice, tocino, longganisa, ham, tapa flakes, adobo, french toast, eggs cooked two ways, and bread with aling conching (I think that's the brand) coco jam and peanut butter. Just a little info, the said brand of spreads are made by a local named after the brand and mind you, the peanut butter is worth a try.

I would suggest that you dine here if
1. Your staying just walks away from sabang beach
2. you are planning to do some adventures after
3. You want to dine while enjoying the view of the sea and the breeze
And,
4. If you are super hungry that a single order in a tapsilogan wouldn't mend you.

Note: the seat outside of the resto is best but if it's too windy then just stay a little indoor because the sands tend to fly with the wind and unto your plate.

First attempt: Dinner was a fail because they informed us tht it would take 1 hour for our food to be served because of the queue. We politely said, "We can't wait that long" for we are starving from the all-day tour.

Second attempt: breakfast. I had the french toast which tastes like a tasty bread in condesed milk topped with egg. Anyways, i don't hate it but I wouldnt have that again. My friend had the chicken meal something. I wasnt able to ask how it taste.

GOOD THING: A very good vantage point for sight seeing (surfer boys, mainly) especially during mornings to late mornings. And of course of the waves and the sea. Will return because of only that. Food was so-so.

I love the interior design! Place is arsthetically well-kept 128525

PLEASE DONT GO HERE WITH AN EMPTY STOMACH and be patient enough (i'm emphasizing on this one) to wait for 29473920101 minutes before they serve your orders... They'd even tell you that they only have 2 cooks (as if it's our problem lol :p)

Food is okay. Garlic chicken is their bestseller. Affordable prices. Corkage is just 200 per bottle if im not mistaken.

Great resto design/theme. Bad food. Sayang, the place was really great with a view of the beach. We tried the seafood spicy pasta and their bestselling burger. Both taster blunt. As in no taste. :(

Our barkada just had a quarter-day tour, packed with trekking and swimming while skipping lunch. Can you expect what kind monsters we had become?

So for our very late lunch, I ordered Butter & Garlic Shrimp. It wasn't cooked the way that I expected. It was sort of dry and not sautéd in butter. The garlic bits were like sprinkled on top and the shrimps fried on oil, that's it. Plus, the veggies are unlikely mixed on the dish. Boo. For a price of 200 that's just enough to share, cool. But still, It didn't satisfy me.

On the other plate, Steak ala Pobre tastes okay but the meat's tough.

Service wise, boo again. The servers got our orders right away, but the serving still took about 20 minutes or more. I and the others were still able to buy smoothies outside, but when we came back, the food weren't there yet. My friend asked for an additional sunny side up, but it took forever for them to serve it!

There goes our hunger.128566
