Felt weird to be at Iago's on a Monday, usually I go there to have a quick drink with my office mates on Fridays. Anyway, was craving for soup and thought that a bowl of lugaw should do the trick.

My partner and I ordered the following: Pilugaw, Basic Lugaw, Chicken Liver, and Side Orders of Quail Eggs and Chicken.

Pilugaw was good and for 95 Php only, i think it's a good deal. Basic Lugaw would be better if you weren't craving so much and if having a smaller bowl of lugaw is enough to fulfill your... needs or wants (?). If you compare this to the Pilugaw, this definitely has less contents. For example in Basic Lugaw you only get one quail egg but in Pilugaw you get... 2! oh, what's that? yeah you get 100% more quail egg in Pilugaw (assuming all quail eggs have equal weights). Anyway, my partner found the basic lugaw too small so had to get additional side orders of quail eggs and chicken for 25 pesos and 55 pesos respectively. So comparing our lugaw meals Pilugaw (95 Php) vs Basic Lugaw with Quail eggs and Chicken (140 Php). So just take note of that, the side orders can spike up your expenses for the night.

Made the mistake of ordering the chicken liver. It was 60php of grainy and mushy chicken liver. O.o hohum.

Oh, and if ever you request for tap water, i'm giving you guys a heads up that it has a hint of pandan! Okay, it has s "pandan flavor", which if it surprises you on your first sip might make you hate it. But given a heads up... might change your initial judgment? haha we'll see.

Anyway, what bothered me was that the waitress handling our table. Supposedly given the small floor area of the enclosed part of the resto, we should be able to get the attention of our waitress. But she was quite distracted with the tv and the telenovela showing at that time... soooo took a few more seconds than it should to call her.

Anyway, that's it for my Monday. Take care everyone!

It's a Filipino feast for tonight!
We had inihaw na liempo, sinigang na ulo sa miso, chicken parmesan (oops, not Pinoy) and we also got goto hell and tokwa't baboy from Lugawan Republic since you can cross order between these 2 establishments.

Plus points:
1. Yummy food!
2. They were kind enough to grant us a refill of the sinigang soup :)
3. Chicken Parmesan wings were surprisingly good.
4. I love their cold pandan water.

Nice place to eat and hang out since they also have beer and yummy pulutan. I usually see dads or a little older crowd in here which actually works for me. The other bars inside BF are just too loud, or maybe I'm just too old? Haha.

Aside from the pilo-gaw and crispy tokwa't baboy, we also got their crispy sisig and turon ala mode.

They have one of the best tasting sisig in town, IMHO.

A lot of people hang out because of the beer and good pulutan.

And before I forget, Happy 2014 to |ooloo and all |oolooers!!! 127881127881127881

We were craving for sinigang and sisig after all the non-Filipino fare we had the last 4 days.

I didn't want to go all the way to ATC and Iago was the only decent one we thought of.

The sisig was crunchy and tasty and a little creamy but it didn't taste like mayo. Nakakaadik!!!

The sinigang came in a HUGE bowl that's really family size. Wow!!! While it had lots of pork pieces, it was too fatty; like half of the pieces were fat. We were able to finish everything because we discarded the taba.

Ang sarap!!! 128523128523128523 Really glad to be back home. 128513

P.S. Nabawasan na yung nasa photo sa sobrang excited kumain. 128513

This here's my favorite watering hole in the Republic of BF. And the draw each and every time is their Chicharon Aleta. Categorized under the food type "artery-cloggers", they are thin slices of pork that are breaded and deep fried. A perfect match for a bottle of sub-zero beer.

So so good (yet so so bad) that one order is never enough. And I'm talking per person, mind you.

By the way, is there an unspoken rule that bar chow should generally be unhealthy? How frustrating...

This resto is just a few steps from my place. Great food esp. their lugaw and inihaw na pusit! So far the best grill here in my village.
