Today is the last day (6pm cut off) of the 30pesos Halo Halo Supreme Promo originally 108pesos. This is Icebergs anniversary treat every Fridays for the month of November. I only got news of this promo a couple of days ago and decided to try it out since there is a nearby Icebergs branch near home. As expected, a lot of people are lining up for the halo halo. The Halo Halo is good, full flavored. Filled with classic Halo Halo toppings - mung beans, gulaman, ube, leche flan. Topped with a scoop of Ube ice cream. My only complaint would be their disastrous queueing system, people who came after us got their orders first even though they assured us it was a first come first serve basis. It was not. On normal days, service is good. It is quite a relieve that today is their last day of the promo. Recommended and willing to pay full price so long as service and quality is maintained at a high standard.

Iceberg's is a default dinner place for us when in Santana Grove and when we are we the kids. Their ice cream creations make my kids go crazy! We haven't visited in a while so when we got to the area, Iceberg's was the first order of business.

We already have our favorites here:

Sweet Spaghetti for Cherienne and Maaike - home style spaghetti with lots of meat and cheese. It has the Filipino favorite spag sauce that's sweet with just a hint of sourness. Kids love this! It comes with two slices of toasted and buttered bread.

Golden Liempo for Hubby - perfectly fried slab of liempo that's salty and tasty with crunchy skin! Also has the right amount of fat. Comes with their achara and Mang Tomas sarsa. Truly putok batok but then again it's too good to pass!

Classic Palabok for me - their palabok comes with thick noodles. It's generously topped with the usual orange sauce that's loaded with shrimps, small pieces of liempo, tinapa flakes, shredded chicharon and slices of hard boiled egg. The taste is so rich, leaning towards the salty side.

Banana Split - family favorite! Their classic banana split has vanilla, strawberry and mango instead of the usual chocolate. We would usually ask them to change the mango to chocolate but this time, Cherienne wanted to stick with the tropical fruit. Topped with whipped cream and cherries, it's simply the best dessert on a hot night!

This place is always packed during dinner time. There is nothing fancy about the place - basic tables and chairs, pictures of ice cream, parfait, banana split, etc mounted on the wall. Service is okay too - not too good, not bad as well. They should really think of repairing and improving their space coz they seem to have a lot of patrons anyway.

Liempo is okay, slightly disappointed with the first bite because the flavor is not well-rounded. But as i was about to finish my plate, i realized that it is okay due to the juiciness of liempo.
Parfait is okay as well- flavor is slightly artificial tasting, but the serving is generous.

Interestingly, they have different kinds of rice. They have the green rice, yellow rice and brown rice. I wanted to try their mountainous brown rice as they call it, but it wasnt available so i decided to be adventurous and tried the green rice. Since it was spinach rice, i expected it to taste leafy but to my surprise, it was great! Really really good! It was just so flavorful and addictive.

Sorry i dont have a picture of it but I recommend it to everyone! Only 32 bucks for an upgrade.

I never thought that icebergs also serves complete meals besides their famous dessert. On my childhood, lol. Icebergs is just a kiosk on selected foodcourts.
We ordered lechon kawali and the icebergs famous sisig, its a bit dissapointing because i want to try the brown mountain rice, but the waiter dindnt give me any option.
This brings back the smile on my lips... Kiwi con hielo 9786️.

While everyone is posting pics of their #laboracay escapade, I found my own piece of Boracay in the metro! Iceberg's Boracay Tropical Split #makausolangsalaboracayhashtag LOL

It was a shy away from our usual Banana Split and Oreo Chocolate Split. As the name suggests, it was full of fruity goodness! You'll get a hefty scoop of mango, strawberry and vanilla ice cream, topped with lots of pineapple, peaches, some almond slices, whipped cream, plump cherries and of course your friendly banana! It's perfect in beating this summer heat! What I didn't like though were the big chunks of pineapple. There were A LOT! 128563 They made the dessert a little sour so I had to take them out.

Oreo Chocolate Split is still the best 9786

The cordon blue from iceberg looks yummy but it tasted something was missing. It might be the cheese. Remember the days when cordon blue was just a grocery away? With the right deep fried can make it like the best breakfast or packed lunch, well.. I expected it when i took a bite on it but i was disappointed. It was a little bland. I tasted the mayonnaise more than the cheese.

It was a Saturday night and we were in Santana Grove for our weekend grocery - this time we opted for Shopwise. We got tired and hungry and among the food choices in the area, we tried Ice Bergs. We've been going here for ice cream but this time we wanted to try their food.

Hubby ordered for their Salisbury Steak. Served with some mushroom gravy, each piece was rather dry. The gravy was too salty for my taste too. Nothing special.

I got myself their Beef Lasagna. I was excited since good aroma filled the air when it got out of their kitchen. First 2-3 spoonfuls were okay. Maybe because I was hungry. After that, I got satiated already. Too salty! Yes the cheese was gooey, which I liked, but seriously, there was too much salt in there.

Didn't really turn out well.

The little girl ordered for their spaghetti with meat sauce. Honestly, this was our best order. The sauce was meaty and had the right sweetness vs. sourness ratio. Very Pinoy but very child friendly.

We actually wanted to try their Lechon Kawali, which looked really deadly, but was sold out.

Anyhow... Good thing their staff were friendly and attentive. But so far, food is meh 128513128563128542

Saturdays are Cherienne days. We let her play where she wants to and ride all the kiddie rides we can find in a mall. It's her treat day after a school week.

This rainy Saturday, as we began to settle at home after a day well spent, the little girl asked for one more treat - go to an ice cream shop! It was late but since we were all still hyped up, we agreed to head out once more.

Using the Explore part of the |ooloo app, I searched for "ice cream" near our location and checked if they were still open. Good thing that Ice Bergs in Santana Grove was open.

We checked on their menu and gave the little girl full control. She opted for an Oreo Chocolate Split! Yay!

Banana Splits are always lovely. This one had two scoops of Cookies & Cream and a scoop of chocolate ice cream. Decorated with whipped cream, cherry, Oreo cookies, candy sprinkles and banana (of course) this one also had chunks of fudge brownies. So sinful! Every spoonful was a delight!

We shared the order among the three of us and in less than 15 minutes, the Oreo Chocolate Split was history!
