The place is really old and is in need of renovation, the staff needs to be trained properly, especially the receptionist, the room came with two complimentary breakfast, which was ok, but you'd have to request a table to placed outside your room because we didn't have a table in the room large enough to eat. overall, I guess it was ok, since you'd be tired to notice everything about the hotel with all that walking that you've done.

We're here on peak season so we'll be more forgiving. We're just glad we were able to get a room inside John Hay on such short notice (i.e. walk-in guests, no prior reservations whatsoever!)

The room was for 3000/night, and the only one available was way out back in one of the cottages that haven't seen renovations yet. The room was not as "well-appointed" (that's a term we picked up today 128521) but since we're just here for a night in transit to Sagada, we took it anyway.

We've been here inJohn Hay on separate occasions and stayed in the other hotels here. Igorot Lodge is one of the original inns here and definitely feels that way, but if you're just looking for a place to stay inside John Hay, this is still the cheapest alternative without having to compromise on location and comfort. I'm sure the rooms in the Main Building are better after all. Just make sure to make a reservation when you do decide to go.
