Second time around!

Boyfie make cravings. He missed the taste of Ajitama Tonkatsu Ramen that we ordered long long ago. That's why we came back.

The soup was still amazing but there's something wrong with the noodles. It's not that may wrong talaga. I can't explain, basta I think, it's the texture. It's not the same like before.

What makes the ramen here unique for me are their noodles. The consistency and appearance seem closer to our mami noodles - really long and thin strands.

My favorite would still be their black garlic tonkotsu 128077128077128077 The taste of toasted garlic oil just goes sooo well with their tonkotsu broth! Dont forget to add in an order of aji tomago as mixing in that yolk with the black garlic and broth just makes it so much better.

The veggie tama cheese tonkotsu comes in at a close second. Imagine vegetable paste, chashu bits, and cheese mixed into your ramen. It may sound weird but the combination really works! 128522

My girlfriend’s family collectively had a ramen craving one night. Luckily, I was in the area! Hahaha So, they invited me for dinner. There is a decent number of good ramen places in the south, at least three within Alabang Town Center alone.

We chose this place over the others mainly because it was the first one we saw. Given the limited capacity the place had, it was good that they were able to seat 8 people immediately. Part luck and part charm. Correction: it was just timing. Anyway, we gave our orders and they were able to serve us within 10 minutes of ordering. While ordering, we found out that they did not serve the Ikkoryu Teriyaki Chicken Wings much to my girlfriend’s dismay. It’s a favorite of hers. Apparently, this is the only Ikkoryu branch which does not serve it. I hope they extend the menu soon! For my girlfriend’s sake!!! I hope this reaches Ikkoryu management.

I got Ramen #2. I honestly don’t memorize their Ramen names. I just know that I go for either #2 or #8. I really like the special half-boiled egg. Those are my go-to dishes from this place. I might try something new next time.

My girlfriend was not able to finish her bowl and so she asked for it to be wrapped for takeaway. This was another hiccup for us that night. Uncharacteristically, it took them so long to prepare her takeaway. We had to wait for it about a quarter of an hour. We even thought of just leaving it behind given the amount of time it was taking them. This service level was mediocre especially when compared to the amount of time it took them to give us our bill and change.

Bottomline: Everyone who was craving for ramen was satisfied at the end of the night. At the end of the day, I think that is what counts.

That’s it for now. Take care everyone!

Got a DealGrocer for this place which is a great way to try out restaurants I haven't been to. I'm giving them two thumbs up for this first visit! We ordered their ajitama and chashu tonkotsu and both had the awesome steeped-in flavor of a good tonkotsu broth. Their ajitama (half-boiled egg) was just perfect, and the slice of chashu (pork) was tender with melt-in-your-mouth fat.

Service was courteous and attentive, with a touch of Japanese hospitality. That definitely was a plus for me!

The place is quite intimate with leather accents and warm lighting. They also have outside seating if anybody feels claustrophobic 128518

I just wish the servings were bigger, however I won't hesitate to have ramen here again.

Ever since hubby and I experienced the wonderful world of ramen that is Tonkotsu King Four Seasons in Singapore, we were in search of the best ramen that we can enjoy close to home. I have sampled 4 different Ramen houses in the Metro, most recently Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen.

Hubby ordered the Ikkoryu Original Tonkotsu and I sampled the Ajitama Tonkotsu. The verdict:

Tonkotsu Soup 1108811088110881108811088️ - loved the broth until the last drop
Noodles 11088110881108811088️ - got the normal, will try the hard noodles next time
Chashu 110881108811088️ - good tender flavorful pork but we still prefer Ramen Yushoken's smoky grilled Chashu

We'll definitely go back to try their Aburi Chashu and Ebi Wantan Tonkotsu 🙂

Nice crew. Very attentive.

Not so spacious. Its like, there are only four or five tables inside. So if puno sa loob, sa labas ka magtable. And I don't want to eat ramen outside the resto. Ayoko ng may mga strangers na padaan-daan sa harap mo while eating.

Ramen is good but its kinda oily. As in, makikita mo sa soup mo yung oil. But the taste is authentic. 'Twas yummy! Yun nga lang, ingat kase ma-cholesterol talaga tapos malaki pa yung serving.

First sip of the black garlic enhanced soup... Hmmm a tinge of burnt scent and taste... I asked if this was meant to be and got a yes for an answer... Subsequent tastes were not as sharp but... A fine line between toasted to burned garlic must exist...

Since I lovw everything spicy and my extreme weird Ramen cravings. I dropped by and got myself a good bowl of ramen to solve my cravings! It was just the right amount of spice and the meat was so tender :)

Still in search of good ramen restaurants, any suggestions?

I was treated by my Ching after she received her PF at this renowned ramen restaurant. After the trip to Japan last month, I should say I'm a bit in a position to compare the so called the best ramen in town128540
Here's what we ordered and the reviews:

Ajitama Tonkatsu Ramen ( Php 380.00)- price reasonable, the pork taste superb melts in the mouth super soft, egg sliced in two was visible in the presentation with the red yolk standing out, noodles I ordered was natural but you could have this hard which is boiled at 3 mins. Nori seaweed neatly placed in the corner plus the thinly sliced mushrooms completing the ingredients with the very tasty stock, I place the chili oil to give it a kick12852311088110881108811088

Gyoza- Php 150.00 delightful dimsum plus the sauce yummy 12852311088110881108811088

Harumaki - Php 180.00 spring rolls with the coleslaw at the side presentation is perfect 11088110881108811088

Facility was cozy typical of a clean Jap establishment Ching and I really enjoyed our stay what else do you ask for more with the personnel so polite with a cool service tea for free128077128077128077indeed I'll be back128522I should say that this was one click better than the ramen we had in Japan1108811088110881108811088
