Don't get me wrong, I liked the food. The karaage and tantan tonkotsu are to-go-back-for. What I didn't like was the lackluster service and not-available dishes like gyoza and green tea ice cream (all flavors actually). Shouldn't these be must haves at any ramen place?

After going to their restroom, I wish I could change my rating from 2 stars to just one. There was a funky smell and no toilet paper. Mind you, it wasn't a full house at 8:40pm on a Tuesday night.

I like this branch of Ikkoryu. Hindi masyado maraming tao. I kind of wanted to chill on a humpday after work so I wasn't feeling like going 3 floors up at Ramen Nagi where there are too many people. Been ages since I last went to Ikkoryu. This was the first Japanese ramen place I've been to a couple years ago when there were only a handful places like it in town. And I was so thankful I finally got to taste authentic ramen so Ikkoryu will always be my baseline for good ramen.

There were no available tables other than the bar. Since I'm a solo diner, it was okay for me to sit at the bar. It was how I want to eat ramen anyway, to have that truly Japanese experience in a ramen place. Ramen places in Japan are usually small with bar stools only and they serve purely ramen and sometimes gyoza. More like our lugawan here.

Original Tonkotsu (P330) for tonight. With no other add ons and regular firmness of noodles. It was a bit of a wait for my ramen. But when it was served, oh so worth it! The broth is super hot! And it continues to be hot for a good while which is perfect. I hate for my broth to turn warm or cold right away. Maybe because of the bowl they use? Not so sure. Noodles firmness is just right. I asked for extra green onions and they gave some at no charge. At other ramen places, that would have been a 30-40 additional charge. I was so full and satisfied once I finished my bowl. 128523

I used to come here all the time, I loved their Ajitama Ramen. Unfortunately I visited their SM Aura branch a couple of days ago, it the ramen isn't as good as it used to be. The oil was clearly visible as it sat on top of the broth. I mean, I know tonkatsu ramen is fatty, but usually the oil isn't on top the broth saying fucking hello to me. But the worst part is the pork, I took one bite and realized it was old! Like Mother Teresa old. What. The. Fuck. I couldn't even get through half of it.

Thank god their Karaage was still awesome. Juicy meat, crispy skin. Delicious!

I was going around Aura yesterday with some me time. Watched Captain America Civil War at the Director's Club then went to Ikkoryu for my Ramen fix.

I was greeted with a huge "Nasai Mase" by everyone with enthusiasm. Hahaha. My 2nd time to this branch though my first review.

I didn't ordered my favorite here, the one with the grilled chashu but went with the original Tonkostu Ramen. At P330, it was the cheapest. Most were P380, actually.

Read the literature for the first time on the menu and again in the paper setting on the table. Smell the Tonkostu first, then sip the broth, eat the noodles well dipped in the soup, then add crushed sesame seeds to taste and also pickled tomatoes also.

Which I did.

Because the Tonkostu was relatively strong and oily, not to my taste, actually, the adding of the crushed sesame undercut the oily taste which made the broth more palatable. Which was good, better, in fact. 3.5/5 I've had better.

When I added the pickled tomatoes (I forgot if it's tomatoes or some other red vegetable), it was actually good, too. Something new to experience. Nice.

Service was excellent. They were friendly, attentive and served the Ramen quickly like 5 minutes after I ordered. 5/5

And

Not sure with the spelling though 128521

110881108811088 matcha ice cream.
Well, if you are really going for the super matcha flavor it is a 110881108811088 11088 11088

One funny thing is, i guess the staff punched the order on the wrong table so we keep on getting their orders. Kindah weird how they take the food back and transfer it to the table right next to us. Good thing we have not touched it yet. 128522

Aside from the Ajitama Ramen, this is also one of my favourite in Ikkoryu's menu. The karaage chicken. It's so good I can eat this with the rice and I'm done.

The chicken is so juicy, tender and flavourful and even my family loved it. Also the cabbage that comes with it compliments the chicken. I just love, love this one.

For 180 pesos yes it's pricey but then again it's so good I am wiling to forget the price for it.

This is probably the best tasting ramen I've ever had! My boyfriend introduced me to this resto and eversince we were hooked! Still I cannot eat the entire ramen bowl by myself but the tastes is heaven! Also I love their chicken kaarage and their gyoza, very flavorful. Their best seller for the ramen is the Ajitama Tonkatsu, for 380pesos it's worth every peso for this ramen.

Tried their new ramen. They had a lot of new ones. Lol.
Extra Tamago plaease, and since there were three of us, we got the best seller #2. 128525

I did not loke my last experience here since they gave us a burnt ball of Tantanmen. And when we asked why it was burnt they said that they did not know since it was sent to them like that and they just microwave it. Lol. Yuck!

So if I were you, do not order the Tantanmen, stick to the classics. That's that their good at.

I like salty and spicy food but if you make it too salty I'm going to have a problem with it. That, unfortunately is my problem with Ikkoryu's Spicy Ramen (PHP380). The soup was too salty I avoided it as much as I could. The noodles are thin and hard, just the way I liked it so I focused on eating it. Because I avoided sipping the soup I didn't get full.

The place is not crowded, no long queue outside unlike at Ippudo. Maybe I just made a mistake with my choice of ramen, but I probably won't be back anytime soon.

Their place and ambiance is great. Their Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen was good, thick and creamy plus their add ons. Noodles was just so perfect. Their Tofu Salad was so fresh and because I love the Japanese Dressings! Gyoza has full of stuff.

I wast too much happy with my ramen last night. Ive always eaten at Ikkoryu Newport Mall and the one in Aura didn't taste quite the same. Though the gyoza was still yummy.

If you want to enjoy your ramen in a cozy place, you can try it here. Crews are also accomodating. We tried Ajitama Tonkotsu which is good. You can choose the texture of the noodles if either normal, soft or hard. For the soup base it was dainty and soothing to the taste bud. We also tried their gyoza and kimchi rice which was all god tasting food and not that pricey.

I love their Tantanmen! But not as much as I love Yushoken's Tantanmen. The soup is flavorful but not thick. I had their noodles soft which tasted just the way I like it to be. Though, I would appreciate it more if they place a cut of pork in their Tantanmen.
