Last friday night, after worked, Ony and I rushed and went straight here to watch X-Men. It's our first time watching here so when we reserved online, we had no idea that the cinemas are small and it's better to get seat at the back. We ended up getting 3rd or 4th row seats and it was not a good idea. Nakakahilo. 128563128563

Also, they don't have comfort room inside so best to go first before the movie starts. Hmm, it's not as cold inside and the seats are not as comfortable, as well.

But the movie was great! Really! We loved and enjoyed it! Especially Quicksilver!!! Ahhh super cool slow mo scenes!!! 128518128076🏼

I saw in my facebook feed that director's club has a promo of unlimited pizza for only 200 pesos if you watch civil war but that time, director's club was sold out till the last full show πŸ™„

We settled for iMax instead. That was the first time I tried iMax and to be honest, I still prefer director's club 128514

It's like regular cinema but the movie is in 3D. Those 3D glasses made me feel dizzy sometimes. Also, when they told us to put the glasses on, the first trailer they showed was ghostbuster! Can you imagine how freaked out I got when it seemed like the ghost was coming for me? 128514 I almost screamed 128514πŸ™„

It was nice experiencing iMax but I don't think it's worth it. It's worth the experience but I won't do it regularly. Still giving it 4 stars tho. At least, I saw Chris Evans' biceps in 3D!! Omg!! 128525

So last night, we watched Captain America: Civil War and it was awesome!

Though it was a bit sad on the last part and heartbreaking (I don't wanna spoil people who haven't watched it yet).

It was my first time to watch a movie in IMAX SM Aura since I usually watch a movie in Megamall. I had no choice because tickets were sold out already in Megamall. Good thing IMAX in SM Aura accepts reservation via phone though payment hasn't been made. Thumbs up!

Watched Deadpool with my friends a few weeks ago, in Imax 2D. I think it was the first time that I watched a film in Imax, but I am definitely sure that it's the first time I watched at SM Aura's Imax theatre.

When my friends said we were watching the movie here, I was quite excited. I though lt the overall movie experience was going to be amazing. I think I set my expectations too high though.

Movie - the movie features itself were good. The screen was clear, the details were crisp and amazing.

Movie Theatre - i wasn't so happy with the way the seats were arranged. I had a difficult time getting through to the middle seats, and there was no one there to assist viewers to their seats.

Food - I was quite unhappy with the food and snacks choice available at the imax theatre. You pay such a premium fee for the movie experience but the accompanying snack choices left me hanging. I spent about 200 pesos for a darn hotdog on a bun and drinks. 128533128533

I would probably not opt to watch a movie here again if I can help it. Despite the amazing and crisp movie experience, the amount of money you spend on the tickets plus on the food are just too much for me. I would rather spend that amount of money on a normal movie. But of course, that's just me.

Watched Deadpool last night. Picture and audio were good as expected since it's an IMAX theater. Seats weren't exactly comfortable. Leg room was just fine. There's no middle aisle so if you choose a middle seat, you have to get there before everyone else.

If you'll be watching a blockbuster movie and you plan to buy snacks at their snack bar, it's safest to get there an hour before the movie.

Just to clear things out, the movie (Star Wars TFA based on that tub) was awesome! It deserves a million stars! 128171 But the cinema...well...service could use an improvement. Granted that there were lots of people gearing up for this, I don't think the usher was prepared for it. The line-up for the entrance to the cinema got really long. Movie was supposed to start at 1:20pm but started at 1:30 instead. And that was just for the other trailers.

And oh, they only have the bucket size available. Only the small size and that bucket. Seriously, SM just wanted sell those buckets. 128527 No bbq flavor too. Just the plain one and the cheese flavor. πŸ™„

And on this holiday, my family and I watched Antman. The only possible time (with good seats) was plotted on this cinema so we grabbed it. I was impressed by their waiting area. It was quite spacious with that lovely red couch and view of Taguig (though you'll get a good view of Market Market's parking area 128517). As for the movie, it was good! I'm biased bec. hello, Paul Rudd. 9786️ Hahaha. But seriously, movie was well made. I could actually do away with the imax experience but it was nice to be somehow "part" of the movie.

Now, why 3 stars then? Well, the cinema itself was really dark. When we entered, we had to use the flashlight on our phones to find our seats. I got irritated too that no one was assisting the customers to find their seats. I couldn't stand it so I told one of the guys (4 sila sa entrance) to do something about it. On came the emergency lights to guide everyone's way 128563 It wasn't clear enough but helped a bit. I wish they would improve on that. I mean, you pay a lot not just for the imax but for the whole movie experience. With that said, prolly not gonna watch at this cinema again. And oh, parang walang aircon sa loob. Right temperature but you wouldn't feel it. Buti na lang okay yung movie! 128514

sm aura imax was packed earlier.

better to purchase tickets online and show the eticket to the cashier and they will print you an actual paper ticket.

only 1 movie trailer was shown and it was batman vs superman which was good.

seats were okay since it's fairly new. ac was tolerable and not too cold. floor was clean.

viewing experience was okay.

Watched Interstellar and it lasted nearly 3 hours... 128514128514128514. But the movie was good and I'm glad we decided to watch it here.. This IMAX is a bit smaller than the one in MOA but I like their chairs here more. Sound is even better..128077128522128077128077

My first IMAX experience watching Transcendence. I thought it is the same as the Director's Club and Platinum where there is popcorn, soda and lazy boy..hindi pala. Just the same it was a nice experience because it is like being immersed in the movie/story. Sounds and looks so real, a bit pricey though as it costs more than double in ordinary cinemas..

I was looking at the list of cinemas that show The Hobbit after 9pm then I saw SM Aura has an IMAX Theater! 128563 I got excited because finally there's an IMAX that's closer-ish to me. We arrived here at 9:20pm and the movie was at 10pm. I was worried because by this time at MOA, there would be no vacant seats. Surprisingly, there were a lot of available seats, VERY surprising actually. 128559 But good thing for us! Haha.

The movie itself was good. Too long, some scenes not really essential to the story. But great visuals and action sequences. 127939

The seats were similar to Megamall - not spacious but adequate leg room. The movie started on time BUT there were no trailers! The ticket was P450 so I was thinking at least show me some trailers!! We were seated at the first row of the upper box. I thought it was too close but it gave us a great view! The quality is just unreal because the movie seemed very real, it's as if I'm in the movie with the dwarves. Hahaha! Actually, it's feels like a video game. Nonetheless, AWESOME QUALITY IMO! And I loved the fit of the 3D glasses. Best 3D movie I've watched so far. 128526128077128076

We went here for the 10:30pm screening of Pacific Rim. I was surprised that the ticket cost is just P350 for an IMAX and 3D experience. Definitely cheaper here compared to MOA. I like the bigger legroom, comfy seats, and nice-fit of the 3D glasses. And because it's relatively new, the cinema smells and feels clean 128522

My experience with the IMAX theater divided into two parts: buying the tickets (impressed) and actually watching the movie (horrified).

My boyfriend is really into Superman so we decided we were going to watch Man of Steel in IMAX and buy tickets ahead. We discovered that Aura's cinemas were open already and I was so happy to be able to watch IMAX near our house. I was impressed by the lobby, there's so much space for the ticket lines, we could buy tickets a week in advance, they even let us enter the cinema to see which seats would be best before we bought them. I was so impressed.

Now fast forward a week later (June 12) at the first screening of Man of Steel. I feel like it will be easier if i list down the reasons in bullet form.

-We got there early so we decided to ask what time they were going to allow us in the theater so we could buy our food accordingly. Guess what. They didn't know. Not one member of the staff could inform us what time we would be allowed in the cinema. Great.

-SPACE: Remember that lobby I was impressed by? What I failed to notice was the snack bar. There is no space to line up, it's cramped and there is no clear definition of the line or anything. Who designed this place? Terrible. You can't even get to the other entrance of the cinema or the bathroom because you can't get through the people lining up for food.

-FOOD (this is gonna be long): we were 2nd in line for food and it took the girl 10 minutes (no exaggeration) to simply take our order! She was so frazzled and untrained, bickering with her coworkers and wasn't even paying attention. I ordered then let my friend order as well and while my friend was speaking she rudely cut her off and loudly read my order to me. I then asked her if she didn't hear me when I said I was paying for my friend's food and that it was her turn to order and she didn't even apologize! Grabe super bastos Talaga. I asked where I could wait for my burgers THRICE and each time she replied "yes ma'am".. HELLO, not listening! Then I asked if they could just deliver the food to the cinema since there was the longest line behind us and I didn't want to make others wait longer than they already had since this was the only register open. Another employee helped us so we ended up getting our burgers.. Guess what, no ketchup packets. For real?

-TIME: the whole ordeal with the food took so long that by the time we entered the cinema it was past 10am (which was the time of our movie) and it turned out they had just allowed people in. At which point no one even asked for our ticket or provided us with our 3d glasses. We had to wait 30 more minutes for our movie to begin, during this wait SM employees were walking around handing out glasses to everyone except us. I had to stand and look for someone to give us glasses.

Finally the movie starts! About 20 minutes in the girl brings me my 2 burgers (which I already got!)...so if I didn't wait for the food I would've had to wait 1 hour for them. I returned them to her and told her we already were given our food.

If you want a relaxing & fun movie experience, find another cinema. If you want to be stressed and pissed off during the movie then SM Aura is the place for you!

I guess by now you've all heard the horror stories about SM Aqua...errr, SM Aura. There have been reports about the flooded basement parking, swimming pool in the corridors, falling construction workers...and waterfalls inside the cinema. 128561

Horrible, right? The contractor of this project must be going crazy with all the work they have to (re)do. In the first place, they shouldn't have opened this mall if they weren't sure about its water tightness yet. I hope they have the proper documents required for cost claims, or else, SM might not pay them at all. Tsk tsk tsk.

Anyway, enough shop talk. Let's go back to the cinema.

Thankfully, the iMax theater didn't leak while we were there. However, we observed a couple of problems when we were there last Father's Day to watch Man of Steel:

1. The layout of the whole place was not very convenient. Once you enter the iMax theater area, there is a big lobby with a high ceiling where the ticket booth is housed. This is good, because the big space can accommodate the long queue for tickets. However, once you get to the snack bar, the space becomes a corridor, probably only 4 meters wide, with a huge ass column right smack in the middle. 128563 Beside it is the entrance to the theater. When the queue for the snack bar and the queue going into the theater combine, it looks like one big mess (see picture). Hard to squeeze your way through the crowd.

2. Lack of food choices. There was only one snack bar!!! And it was small! The food court outside didn't have much to choose from, either. 128540

3. Late screening time. The ticket said that the show will start at 4:00 pm. We were there at 3:30 to give ample time to buy snacks, then we lined up to go inside the theater. We were in that line for 30 or so minutes because they wouldn't let people in. It was PAST 4 pm before they opened the doors!!! When we got inside, it took another 15 minutes before they started the trailers (there was just one, I think), and THEN they started the movie. That was, what, 4:30 pm na??

4. Horrible customer service. Well, I didn't experience this one firsthand. I actually witnessed it from 3 rows in front of me. A few minutes before they dimmed the light, there was a kerfuffle in front of us: apparently, there was a mix up in the seat assignments...the ticketing personnel double booked seats!!! 128561 The usher was asking the group already seated to please move 2 seats to the right because their seat numbers overlapped with the group to the left. It was horrible, especially since one person in group 1 was so mataray, she didn't want to budge from her seat! Thankfully, 2 people from her group volunteered to switch seats, after which, the girl loudly exclaimed: "Nakakapikon na kayo, SM Aura!"

You'd think that that would be the end of it, BUT NO! A family came into the row and claimed that that was their seat assignment! Triple booked!!! The girl from the first group protested loudly again, saying: "Eh ayaw ko lumipat!" The usher was at a loss on what to do as there were no more seats to move to, so he called the manager. I didn't hear what the manager was saying to the mother of the family that just came in because the previews already started, but I saw him lead her out of the row and into new seats a few rows up. Suddenly, there was a lull in the theater sounds so the mother's voice rang clearly when she exclaimed: "GIVE ME BACK MY MONEY NOW!!! WHO IS YOUR SUPERIOR? I WANT MY MONEY BACK...NOW!!!"

(I assumed she was being led to new SEATS. I didn't look back to check na. However, when we were leaving the theater after the movie, I noticed that some people were seated on the STEPS! Ano to, 1990s???)

Yikes!!! Poor manager. I bet he heard a mouthful from that disgruntled customer. But it's SM's fault because they triple booked seats!!! What a nightmare!!! I bet I would also throw a hissy fit if I came into the theater and saw that other people were already sitting there. I wouldn't just demand for a refund, I would demand for free movie tickets...for a LIFETIME!!! Hahaha.

So there. We witnessed some drama even before the movie started. 128513

I would have given this just 1 star, but the 2nd star is for Henry Cavill. He is hawt. Oh, and the audio/video quality was pretty ok naman. Hehe. 128522
