If I will describe my favorite restaurant in one word it will be IMPRESSIONS. I went there for a Sunday buffet brunch with my friend. The staff were very courteous when we entered. I am amazed with the interior of the restaurant. The white table and chairs are very catchy. The dim and yellow lights gives elegance. The wine cellar beside our table give us a feeling that we are not in the Philippines.

After being seated, we start our journey. Yes! This is my favorite part, eating! First stop, Appetizer Section you can choose from make your own salad, three kinds of soup to varieties of cold cuts but I ordered baked mussels, oysters and scallops. To my surprise they served big mussels, oysters and scallops, its not an ordinary serving it is really big and delicious. Then I asked the server if they have secret menu, indeed, they served foie gras and caviar. Yummy! For the main course section, IMPRESSIONS are grilling seafoods and meats from sea bass, salmon, lobster, prawn and steaks. I ordered a T-bone steak and three pieces of prawn. Again, I am amazed with the serving and quality of the dishes. Time for desserts! Lots of cake, gelato, sorbet, fruits and other sweet delicacies to choose from, I asked the server to give me one scope of Salted Caramel gelato topped with strawberry. As we go back to our table, they served us complimentary tea. I must say, I had a sweet ending and very nice experience with IMPRESSIONS. I am going back again.

Impressions is located at 3rd Floor Maxim's, Resort World Manila, Pasay City, Philippines.

Unlimited foie gras. Those sweet words made me go "ooooh" longer than holding my breath to win the "happy birthdaaaaaaaay" contest.

Hello, Impressions!

This classy buffet restaurant in Resorts World Manila is headed by celebrity chef Cyrille Soenen and its layout was meant to impress.

The slightly dim lit restaurant had a minimalist signage in front that also serves as the reception desk.

As soon as you enter, you are greeted by several numbered tables with the first buffet bar on the right which serves the meats.

We got table #18 reserved for us which was perfect as it was in front of the buffet table that prepares foie gras, scallops and lobsters. It was also near the sweet corner a.k.a. desserts and sashimi.

My first plate had a lot of salmon sashimi, a few maki and foie gras.

The foie gras bits were bite size and it was... just okay. It wasn't spectacular but it wasn't bad.

The salmon sashimi cuts were quite small too and I had to wait for the chefs to fill the plate again as the person before me took all the pieces! >.<

The sashimi cuts were fresh but not as fresh or as divine as the ala carte I get from authentic Japanese restaurants.

While waiting for the next batch of foie gras, R and I went for some prime rib and baked salmon. I also got a bowl of fish with greens which was pretty good! Crisp greens and succulent fish meat.

The prime rib was good but Highland's prime rib is far better. The salmon was quite sad looking and it tasted mediocre. Sad to say, my mom's salmon was even better than the one I got from Impressions.

The lobster was pretty good (yet also quite far from Lobster King of Coron). The scallops were a bit too buttery and cheesy to the point that the taste was too overwhelming. I managed to just have one.

What saved the meal BIG TIME though was the desserts. The cakes--red velvet, chocolate mousse, Devil's cake--were really good! The brownies were equally delightful! The creme brulee were also great (though would have been better if it had a milder zest).

We also ordered some gelato and souffle and... both were delicious! The gelato is available in three flavors-dark chocolate, vanilla and raspberry. I went with dark chocolate and R had the other two flavors. Though the dark chocolate was good, combining raspberry and vanilla created magic! It was simply addicting! We had to order another bowl of each! (But the server just gave us raspberry for round 2. Aww.)

The dark chocolate souffle was scrumptious. It had a rich chocolate flavor with a hint of saltiness. It was perfect!

And thanks to R's sister, we got to eat with 50% discount! Woohoo! Without the discount though, I don't think it would be a good deal.

Chocolate sampler was very good :)
Steak servings are large and really satisfying. I ordered the one with truffle mashed potato. I wished I could have more. It was heaven on a plate. 128076

Pricy but worth it! Caviar, Foie Gras, Lamb Chops, Duck Breast. You can ask the chef to cook everything you want with their available ingredients, so don't be shy. They have less selections compared with Spiral and Dusit but they have a greater quality.

Celebrated the company president's birthday here. I heard lunch buffet we had was 2100++ per head?

I wasn't very impressed though. Though the food selection wasn't very broad, it was a bit overwhelming. The grilled section has everything, from foie gras to shrimps to roast beef.

I was expecting better quality food in the cold section. Their smoked salmon didn't taste good. 128532

I want to give this buffet a second chance. Maybe sometime soon.

I know. Sorry kung ok lang ang rating ko. Taray ba? 128561 Was there again for my clan's New Year's Eve dinner. We had a lavish 7-course meal (with matching palette cleansers). While I am a sucker for opulence and loved almost everything on the menu, I wasn't too happy with my entree, the duck breast. For me (and this is just pretentious old me), the duck breast was a bit tough compared to the other duck breasts I've had before. Then again, maybe it was meant to be cooked that way. The rest of the New Year's Eve menu, however, was spectacular. From the amuse bouche to the foie gras appetizer down to the desert and mignardises (say whutt?). Ok na sana. The entree was just a letdown. Then again, can't win 'em all. 7-course meal naman kasi. Pagbigyan. 128541

Impressed? Yes I was!
Although only from Appetizers to Entree only. We had a 7-course Christmas special menu for dinner.
My favories are the following:
-tuna tartare
-scallops crusted with chorizo
-roasted US black angus prime rib
-passion fruit sorbet with orange tulie

The skill and techniques are very obvious by how our dishes were prepared. They were fine, exquisite and delightful to satisfy the taste savy mouths we have. The elegance shined throughout the entire dining experience at Impressions.

For dessert, it was not an impressive service. The gingerbread cake appeared unappealing to me. And the cranberry and apricot cake had no impressing factor as well.

All in all, I was impressed with how we were served and the entire courses of their Christmas menu.

TFS approves of Impressions.

Pray, Eat and Love.

Was not impressed with Impressions :P I took my parents here for Christmas brunch buffet last year and I was pretty disappointed. When I made my reservation the staff told us to be in semi-formal wear, but when we arrived everyone was just in shorts and slippers. For 3k a head the food variety wasn't that great. I only remember liking their lobster bisque and that was it. Their bathrooms were very unkempt too! A bit of a rip-off, if you ask me :P

First time to try Impressions' gourmet buffet. The place was relatively small, likewise the buffet area, but the well curated spread definitely made up for it. If you are tired of the usual hotel buffets, I think this is a refreshing place to go to. Though known for their fine French cuisine and extensive wine list, they now have Sunday buffet.
As you enter there is s juice bar to your right where you can get freshly squeezed fruit juices (orange, mango, pineapple and watermelon). I then went to the appetizer section where i hoarded foie gras on toast. Their black caviar on dollar pancakes, salmon roe and fresh uni were ultimately good. I think, that made the buffet more than worth it. The prawn bisque was rich and flavorful. Some food items weren't displayed, but they would gladly cook anything, to your liking. The foie gras on toast wasn't enough to satisfy my foie gras craving. I then asked for lamb chops and steak with pan-seared foie gras. It was heavenly, with huge fresh scallops on the side YUMMMMY!!!
There's actually a lot of mains to choose from. Baby back ribs, roast beef, roast pork, roast chicken, lamb belly, prime rib, tempura, ham, popcorn shrimps, baked mussels, grilled prawns, grilled chicken.
For dessert, they have fry as you order churros of two flavors: cinnamon and chocolate. I like the chocolate dip which was not overly chocolatey. Their salted caramel gelato was good. Hot tea of your choice was bottomless, as well as their coffee.
Service was impeccable and by far the best among all the hotel buffets.
Minus one because they ran out of risotto which I was looking forward to.

This is the perfect place to celebrate your personal milestones! They set up and coordinate really well, plus the food is top notch and most definitely classy! They also have great service which makes my family come back! Shoutout to Dennis-- the general manager who does a really really great job of making sure everything runs perfectly over there!

Fine Dining at its finest. Quality foods at reasonable prices. Ambiance was very classy plus the wine collection is extensive and the service, very well put. A 5 course dinner served with awesome plating presentation.

First review, yay! 128515

I don't remember when's the last time I went to Resorts World. The only thing I remember is that the mall was still empty that time.

A few weeks ago, one of my bffs invited me to her debut dinner at Impressions (Maxims). I knew it was gonna be an expensive dinner, and tbh, I didn't know what to order 'cause I was overwhelmed with the menu. Heh 9996

In the end, I went with the usual: T-bone steak. The plate was filled with yummy food. The steak plate costs around 2000-3000 so it would be a bummer if it didn't taste well. Good thing, Impressions impressed us. The best part though, is the yummy mashed potato. Oh dear Lord, it might be the yummiest I've tasted so far. Also, the bread puffs are so soft and delicious!

What I don't like: foie gras. Uhhh, I will not dwell on this.

We also had red wine. Well, I'm not an enthusiast so I wouldn't know how it fares in the wineland. The "surprise" birthday cake was so decadent, though.

I definitely recommend this to those who wanna experience fine dining. Beware though, you might find yourself penniless after dinner.

Just tell yourself: I REGRET NOTHING.
