I love Indonesian food and today I suggested to my friends to have lunch at Indonyaki Maginhawa hehe. They moved na pala to a bigger place! Dati carinderia levels lang sila, ngayon nasa second floor na heehee 128522

Parking was still a bit of a hassle and we had to walk a couple of blocks to arrive here. We ordered the following:

❣️ Ayam Goreng : a classic in Indonyaki, crispy fried chicken topped with crunchy things (breadcrumbs?) served with sweet garlic sauce and sambal.

❣️ Beef Rendang : their beef rendang looks different as it is pale. They didnt use tomato sauce/paste with it. It has a curry taste as well.

❣️ Nasi Goreng: fried rice with cabbage, egg, meat

❣️ Ikan with Tofu: steamed fish with tofu

❣️ Sate Ayam : skewered and barbecued with peanut sauce. Yummy and tender

❣️ Spring Rolls : vegetable lumpia 128522

We paid a little less than 1000 pesos for everything which is super sulit, and we didn't even finish it (we're just 3 girls).

However I was a little bit disappointed with Indonyaki as I remembered they really serve spicy food but with this last visit, it's not spicy at all! 128557 even the sambal tastes like tomato sauce with chili lang.

After a disappointing trip to the World Street Food Congress, we went straight to a place that we know serves reasonably priced and constantly delicious, legit street food.

We had half an order of ayam goreng with garlic and sambal sauce, fried spring roll, sunny-side up egg and Indonyaki rice. Everything was great, as always and we loved that the prices did not dent our wallets. BUT again, bawal mag-inarte like the lady behind me who kept whining na "mainit".🙄 You eat along the sidewalk of Maginhawa, so don't expect a fancy dining experience.

It's my second time here, and their Ayam Goreng is still really good. Crunchy on the outside, moist and juicy on the inside. Weird, but it reminds me of crispy pata haha!127831 The crunchy pieces piled up high with the dish was a good complement to the chicken. But pwede rin siyang ulamin, actually.128514

The Indonyaki Lumpia was just okay this time around. You get tired of the taste afterwards.

That garlicky sauce plus chili sauce, which I put in everything is the best!

The servers were nice and very attentive. They even refill your water without you having to ask them. So annoying though, that there were still a lot of flies in the area. You have to shoo them away every now and then.

Our second visit was not as good as the first one, but Indonyaki still tops my list as one of the most yummy but affordable eats in Maginhawa.

Oh I forgot to continue reviewing our Maginhawa food crawl! Third stop after RB CITY was Indonyaki. Stephen Jareth C got to watch it in TV, making him curious and want to try. Since it's on the way to our original third stop, Caffera, we stopped by to try the dishes they're famous for..

Indonyaki btw is like a hole in the wall Indonesian carenderia along Maginhawa. As in, you eat near or at the sidewalk... Open area and you get to see cars passing by and they, you. Typical Filipino inspired carenderia. Not for the picky germophobes. Haha!

We ordered two of the server's recommendations.

INDONYAKI 311088
Semi-thick cut strips of beef cooked similar to how we do our caldereta only that theirs is not salty and had none or minimal tomato paste. The taste had that Indonesian taste so they must've added some local spices. This is not something I'll be buying again..

AYAM GORENG WITH SAMBAL 3.5-411088
This is the Indonesian style fried chicken. Taste-wise it was good, pretty light and not too spice-y. It came with this sweet sauce. I also liked the batter they fried, together with the chicken, which were like chips. Got too cloying after a while though. Oily eh wuw. Dasal lang sa cholesterol. Dasal lang talaga. 128514

We loved the ayam goreng with the sambal sauce. Their indoyaki rice took me back to Bali. :) Their staff was attentive, and the food was affordable. A hole in the wall where you get your money's worth. I'll definitely go back for a quick Indonesian food fix. The place could be improved if they installed fans to keep away the flies.

120 for a generous serving of Ayam Goreng with egg. Sulit! I usually eat here between 1pm-3pm when you can easily get a table. Even if there's a queue, waiting will be worth it. Eating there is like having a party in your mouth. The waiters are very nice as well. Highly recommended!

An Indonesian hole-in-the-wall in Maginhawa. Their Ayam Goreng, Indonyaki Rice, Veggie Lumpia and Sate Ayam are my favorite. They have great food, great service at a very reasonable price! 128077🏽128077128077🏼

My boyfriend and I are pretty hard to please. We love restaurants that are not only good, but also give you great value for money. Indonyaki gives you just that!

Indonyaki Lumpia - it's Lumpia with an all-veggie filling, served with a creamy, garlicky, peanut sauce. The veggies have a slight curry taste, which is not overpowering. A great appetizer for a great meal ahead!

Ayam Goreng - We ordered just the half size, so when our order came out, I had to repeatedly ask our server if this indeed was just half. I was scared that they got our order wrong, but it was just really huge! The chicken was really juicy, and the breading is super crunchy. The dish was served with the peanut-garlic sauce and a chili sauce. We both loved this dish!!! Better than any fancy fried chicken dish I've ever tasted!

Beef Rendang - I was craving for the Beef Rendang I had in Indonesia a few months ago, that's why I had to force my boyfriend to eat here. Their beef Rendang wasn't like the authentic one I've tried before (it isn't supposed to be saucy, and the taste is just really different), but it's still very good! The sauce is a mixture of curry, coconut milk and spices, so if you love spicy Indian food like I do, you'll love this dish too.

Nasi Goreng and Indonyaki Rice - We ordered two types of rice, just so we could taste the difference. Unless you really want cabbage and egg in your rice, I would suggest that you get Nasi Goreng instead. It's 10 pesos cheaper than the Indonyaki Rice, and there's not much difference taste-wise. Their rice really complements the dishes.

Complimentary Soup - we loved it so much, that we asked for a second serving (yes, you can too!;))

Service and Location - The servers were efficient, and the food was served quickly. I just don't know if it'll still be the same if they were serving a lot of people, since there were just two of us. Don't expect the place to be a classy joint. It kind of looks like a carinderia, and it's open air. No electric fan, either. There were lots of flies too.

Despite the location, I would gladly sweat and swat flies just to eat here again. It was just that good! Can't wait to try their other dishes!9786

Maginhawa is now known as being one of rising popular places for food trips and good eats. One of the restaurants I've tried here is Indonyaki. As its name says, it serves Indonesian cuisine. For first timers, I will give you ideas on what to expect before going here:

1. Set-up - Indonyaki is in an open area, so it is best to eat here during dinner so that it will be a bit more relaxing and less humid.

2. Operating hours - It is open from Monday to Sunday from 12nn to 11pm (except Sunday, it opens at 3pm but still closes at 11pm).

3. Customer Service - Their staff are very accomodating and friendly. Despite the busy day and long hours of working, they still manage to work effectively and serve the customers with smiles on their faces. :)

4. Food - Here comes the main character of this whole blog post, their food!! :D Let me start.

So we ordered a bunch of various food types to fulfill our stomach wants. We ordered their signature rice called Indonyaki rice, their special chicken called Ayam Goreng, Pancit and Eggplant poured with their sambal sauce.

We also ordered Sate Ayam, chicken chunks with peanut butter sauce. Oohh, how mouthwatering is that!

5. Price - I can say that the prices of their food are very affordable, not only for working people but also for students. (I'll capture their prices the next time I visit, then I'll post it here so you will have an idea before visiting Indonyaki.)

6. Cleanliness - Even though the place is small and sometimes gets crowded, they are still able to maintain the restaurant's cleanliness.

So the next time you crave for something Indonesian, go try here at Indonyaki. I promise, it will definitely be worth it. :D

Personal Rating:
Food - 5/5
Price - 5/5
Ambiance - 3.5/5
Crew - 5/5
Will be coming back? Definitely!

After a couple of failed attempts we finally got to try this Indonesian roadside joint. We ordered their bestsellers: Ayam Goreng, Indonyaki lumpia, and Indonyaki rice. Hands down, this place is cheapskate heaven! The damage was a measly 335php. Generous portions and good value for money especially for those students with skeleton allowance. Food was deliciously authentic and you could just easily imagine yourself eating along the streets of Jakarta.

A very simple food joint along the eat street. An acquaintance told me to try this out, and I wasn't disappointed!! I am so in love with their Indonesian Fried Chicken and their fried rice or yang chow, I forgot the name, it was soooo good! Haha. Will definitely go back!!! 128077128077128077

A wondrous take on Ayam Goreng, Indonesian fried chicken. The crisp breading is fried separate as you can see from photo above. Comes with two dipping sauces: garlic and my fave the chilly sambal. You can enjoy this al fresco dining along the sidewalk for some added dining adventure. 128522

Very tasty fried chicken but too small. Ordered half chicken but looks like it's a spring chicken or they kept the breast part for the chicken satay.

The place doesn't have tables set up inside (they put it up if you ask) and they've been told by baranggay not to set up along the sidewalk. Place is also cramped, smells oily, and a bit too dirty for me so it's much better if you just take out.
