We chose to stay in Ipil suites as it is one of the better accommodations in el nido town (meaning not an inn or a lodge). It is conveniently located a minute's walk from the beach along one of the main roads. From the hotel you can literally walk to any point of the town.
Upon arrival, there was no electricity (this is expected in el nido so don't be surprised 128513) but thankfully they had a generator that can power the ceiling fans. We were also upgraded to a superior room from a standard room.
Our reservations came with supposedly 'plated' breakfast but it was actually a buffet spread 128077🏼 pretty substantial, with about 3 viands everyday (luncheon meat which surprisingly tasted like spam, bangus or tuyo, veggies), oatmeal or champorado, sinangag and their signature baked bread. I especially liked the bread and their jams too like watermelon, papaya and pumpkin! You can also have your eggs done any way you like.
Staff was courteous and polite all throughout our stay (4d/3n).
The bathroom was also quite roomy with a bidet!
They also arranged all our tours so very hassle free 128077🏼
I guess one thing that I would complain about is the a/c in the room. Even at 16deg, it couldn't cool the 20sqm room and it was a split type too. So I guess it needed some servicing or something.

Here are some general tips for traveling to el nido:

>even if MNL-EL NIDO flights can run a bit high, try to check the sites every once in a while. One of our boat mates said he got his for $100 cos they were just filling up the plane.

>I will admit that the van ride is uncomfortable. If you get carsick easily, pop a tab an hour or two before as the roads are really full of upward twists and turns. The driver will also be driving quite fast.

>If you will be riding the van, try not to drink a lot beforehand as there is only one (decent) bathroom stop

>In el nido town, there are many Many trikes but you can just walk anywhere.

>There are mosquitoes but also native 'naknak' which will leave kind of a harder, redder mark. I advise Bringing a small tube of antibacterial cream for these bites.

>As with most seaside towns, the chlorinated water is quite hard

>Enjoy the local food!

This 4-storey sleek boutique hotel is the tallest in town surrounded by limestone cliffs and offers a view of the sea with reasonable rates in El Nido. It is also walking distance to the beach, restaurants and street shops. Ipil Suites has a restaurant, Wi-Fi connection and 24-Hour security.

We were surprised and fortunate enough to be given a Suite during our stay! The spacious suite can accommodate one family as it has 2 king-sized beds and an extra bed in the loft area. The suite is equipped with a flat screen tv, safety deposit box and a minibar, too.

So if you are going to El Nido, check out Ipil Suites!

Nice place. Reasonably priced too. They also own a lodge in Puerto Princesa so if you're planning to go to Underground River (which is in Sabang) or the city, you can stay in Ipil Puerto Princesa as well and they can help you arrange your van transfers and tours. We only had to pay Php16k for 2 nights in El Nido and 2 nights in Puerto Princesa with one day El Nido island tour, Underground River tour, City Tour and van transfers. That's already for 2 pax.

When I go back to El Nido, I will definitely choose this place over other hotels and inns in the area.

Daily room make-up, friendly and attentive staff, good breakfast (they serve yummy adobo during the breakfast buffet... mmmm 128524), walking distance to restaurants and affordable accommodation 128077

Their rooms are kind of small (at least for the two rooms I've been at). Good thing we didn't have to stay there since we spent most of our days out at the sea. 128513

If you're planning to stay at Ipil Tavelodge, it's better to book it months prior; they are always fully-booked. 128521
