when it opened its first branch, i was among those who fell in line to get a taste of the best ramen. and i was not disappointed. i remember how i reviewed it, it tastes ramen nagi then ramen daisho. and ippudo introduced me to the wonderful flavor of fresh garlic on a ramen.

and because of the fusions, ippudo also introduced its Clam Chowder Ramen: ippudo's tonkutso broth mixed with clam chowder, with clams and a strip of bacon which is recommended to be broken to pieces and mixed with the ramen.

it costs P495.

honestly, it's a good ramen. i almost finished true to its name, it. it tastes like clam chowder and a bit of ramen. they were also filled with clams, hash potatoes and some cheese. the best part of this ramen, the black pepper noodles! it really complemented the creaminess of the broth. i learned that ippudo redeveloped this ramen to cater to Filipino tastebuds and they did a pretty good job doing so.

for ramen purists, i think they will not like the idea of ramen and chowder together. but if you want something different, this is worth trying.

about their service, i have no complaints in every branch i've been to. the servers know their food, they immediately fill your glass with water even without asking and even asked how was your experience or your comments about their food.

Always game for ramen! For this visit, I refrained from ordering my usual spicy ramen and opted for the miso one.

AKAMARU SHINAJI PHP400
IPPUDO’s original tonkotsu broth enhanced with special blended miso paste and fragrant garlic oil. Served with thin noodles, pork belly, kikurage and spring onions. Can’t go wrong with this classic!

YOKOHAMA LEKEI RAMEN PHP495
Paitan + Tonkotsu broth. Served with thick noodles, shoyu tamago, cabbage, spinach, nori, loin and pork belly. This is a new item in their menu. Broth tasted deliciously fatty. As always, their ramen is cooked al dente and perfect.

DEEP FRIED GYOZA PHP220
Topped with spicy mayo, negi and chili powder on a bed of shredded cabbage. Served with Ippudo’s ponzu sauce

Overall, another great visit! 128077🏻

I recently went to Ippudo with my two of my HS best friends, M and C. I posted a review about it here: https://looloo.com/r/6ju5. I was suprised when the management of Ippudo got in touch with me through Zomato and Instagram -- and wanted to do something to regain my trust in them. They offered to give me a free bowl of ramen on my next visit.

Fast forward to a couple of weeks after that, I decided to claim my ramen. Since Josh hasn't tried eating here yet, I brought him along with me last last Saturday. We were warmly greeted by Mark, their branch manager, and led to our seats.

We got an order of the Torched Salmon Roll (MY FAVORITE!) to share, I had Shiromaru Special, and Josh ordered Akamaru Tamago.

✔ TORCHED SALMON ROLL (Php 295 / 5 pieces) - 1108811088110881108811088
MY FAVORITE! 128525 I have already described this in my previous review, but I must say, this is really a must-order in Ippudo! 128513 Josh loved this, too! Each bite was a burst of freshness and flavorfulness every salmon lover will definitely enjoy.

✔ SHIROMARU SPECIAL (Php 490) - 1108811088110881108811088
Ippudo's classic ramen. I looove their creamy tonkotsu broth! Its umami taste lingers in your mouth with each slurp. I always get very hard noodles, since it will become softer as it "cooks" in the piping hot broth. The chashu slices are flavorful, juicy, and has the right amount of fat marbling. The tamago is perfectly cooked! 128525 I have nothing else to say besides I reallyyyy love this ramen! 128156128077

✔ AKAMARU TAMAGO (Php 430) - 11088110881108811088
Josh liked it, but said that he expected more flavor depth than what the broth has. I didn't get much feedback from him, though. He just said that he still prefers Ramen Nagi's broth. 128517

The service was impeccable. I felt their sincerity in trying to regain my trust -- and I am glad that my comment about the slight decline in their service during our previous visit made them reach out to me immediately. I hope they regularly do this though, and not just to food bloggers.

Special thanks to Mark, who was patient with us and sincerely apologized for what happened before. After our meal, we asked for our bill -- and Mark approached us and said the entire meal was on the house! 128561 Talk about great customer service / service recovery. 128516

Thank you, Ippudo, for taking the time to hear us out and making an effort to regain our trust. 9786

Disclaimer: The entire meal is paid for by Ippudo as part of their service recovery.

First time to eat at Ippudo!

I had their chicken bun as my appetizer, it was good, the chicken was really packed a lot of flavor. For my main, I had their Akamaru special, and I wasn't sure about the hardness of noodles thing, so I went with what the server suggested - and had the hardness set to ~very~ hard. I like their ramen, and would come back for it! Will try out their other ramen variants, though this time I may opt for my noodle's hardness to be set at medium or just hard - I sorta want to see whether there'd be a huge difference compared to the very hard level lol.

Service was alright, although when they served my mom's gyoza, the waiter did spill some of the sauce on my pants - which I guess was a good thing since at least my bag (woth my camera on it to boot), was saved lol. 128517

Ambiance was okay, though there were flies here.

Overall, the experience I had was a bit eh, but the food's good so we'll probably come back again sometime soon.

I was in Robinsons Manila for some errands one Saturday and I had to wait for my sister. So while waiting, I decided to have brunch at Ippudo (despite craving for some Korean) 128514 because I remembered Marc M's review for the Clam Chowder Ramen at Ippudo.

The bowl of ramen had clams, potato cubes, onions, chives and a strip of bacon on the side. It's also topped with lots of cheeeeeese!! 🧀

For P495++, this bowl can be pretty pricey. However, it does fill you up. The noodles are infused with pepper and is quite thick. The soup is made of their signature tonkotsu broth with Béchamel sauce and truffle oil. The truffle was spot on! Not overpowering and not underwhelming either.

This ramen is an example of a good fusion of east and west. Half the time, I was wondering if I was eating pasta 128514 The soup was good that I cleaned it 128584

I had lunch with two of my high school best friends (M and C) yesterday at Robsinsons Place Manila, since it's the "best" mall that's relatively near our residences.

As usual, I had a list of my recommendations, so it will be easier for us to decide. M and I both love ramen, so we ended up eating at Ippudo (again 128513 Though I still haven't made a review on Ippudo from our previous visit). C is not a picky eater, and is more of a go-with-the-flow type of person.

I included Ippudo in the recommendation list, because I recently saw an ad of its new limited edition menu items, one of which is the Clam Chowder Ramen. I was curious how it would taste like. 128525

When we got there, we were immediately handed the menu, and we checked their new item menu insert. Of course, there's the Clam Chowder Ramen, but when we flipped it, voila! There's an ad of Torched Salmon Roll at the back 128156 We knew we had to get that, too!

✔ CLAM CHOWDER RAMEN (Php 495) - 1108811088110881108811088
This is not your ordinary ramen! It still has that signature Tokontsu broth as base, but everything else tasted very Western. Instead of the usual ramen noodles, they exchanged it with black pepper noodles which is flavorful on its own, and as usual, cooked until al dente. It matched well with the creamy bechamel soup -- which had a strong truffle oil taste. 128586 I loved how fresh the clams were! They were indeed the star of the show. Oh and the tamago tasted great, too! 128076 YUMMY! Be sure to eat quickly though, to prevent it from becoming cloying when it cools down too much. TIP: Make sure to tear your bacon to shreds and mix it with the soup to fully enjoy your meal. 128522

✔ TOCHED SALMON ROLL (Php 295 / 5 pieces) - 1108811088110881108811088
WE LOVED IT! Each roll was bite-sized, and had just the right amount of everything. The salmon was super fresh, and the creamy Metaiko mayo tasted great, too! The fish roe made for a nice topping to this marvelous dish. If I have the funds, I will surely eat a whole order (or two 128584) by myself! 128513 Each one of us lighted up when we had our first bite. HEHEHE. The only negative thing is that it was quite pricey for its quantity at around Php 60 a piece. 128184

The service was just okay; we requested for cold tea and we have mentioned it to 2-3 waiters, but none was given. It was not until after we followed up again on the Nth time that it was given to us. 128557 Deducting 111088 because of this; sorry, Ippudo! 128148

The food was AWESOME! I love love love Ippudo. 128525 It's the second best ramen place in the metro for me, and I'm thrilled that they are continuously developing new menu items for the curious diner like me. 128076

Before our movie, we went to have dinner at Ippudo 9786

They have a new item on their menu – Yokohama Iekei Ramen (PHP 495). This limited edition ramen combines Paitan and Tonkotsu broths. The noodles are thicker so the server recommended that the hardness of the noodles to be medium. The bowl includes shoyu tamago, cabbage, spinach and nori with two cuts of meat: loin and pork belly 10084

I enjoyed the combination of the Paitan and Tonkotsu! It was well balanced and still very rich. Although when my sister tasted it, she said it tasted like seaweed 128514 Maybe because I left the nori submerged in the soup too long 128517 I wasn't used to the cabbage in my ramen but it was okay.

The price is pretty steep but the serving was enough to keep me full.

Love their limited edition "a taste of yokohama" ramen (in the picture). Went here again with my officemates, i told them yokohama ramen is so delish, they should try it. And they agree........ it really is kasi! For their other ramen, my fave talaga is the akamaru special. But since there's this limited edition yokohoma, would always go for it muna til wala na. 128540

I ordered the basic ramen. Service was quick as our orders arrived quickly. The broth was not as thick as other ramen joints which is a plus for me. Good place to fill your ramen cravings.

Had ippudo earlier in the day before the other ramen place. This wouldve been great if you could customize it to your liking. My noodles were soggy and they refused to replace it. Sayang, i thought the broth was great but the niodles were too much of a let down for me to enjoy the whole dish.

Do not judge me when I say I just go to any ippudo that I see in a mall when I'm really hungry, no second thoughts!!

I mean, who doesn't love Ippudo? Their akamaru chashu is always so good. I love the hints of spiciness at 470php!

Their ramen is just so good, I get easily full plus love their tea. I suggest you read my old reviews.

One thing I do not like is the service charge, my pocket hurts everytime! 470 plus service charge is more than 500.

But the ramen is totally worth it and the chashu they give is yummy and serving is HUGE

The search for the best ramen in town is on!

Ramen Stop: Ippudo

PLACE & SERVICE
Place looked great! It had the Japanese Ramen stall feels to it. Service was great too. They actually ask how hard you want your noodles to be. Also, loved how you can request your house tea to be hot or cold 127861

FOOD
We actually ordered everything in their ramen section 128584

SHIROMARU MOTOAJI [P385 • P415 • P480 • P490]
Ippudo’s original tonkotsu broth served with ultra-thin noodles, pork loin, bean sprouts, kikurage and spring onions.

KAKARA RAMEN [P400 • P430 • P470 • P495]
Ippudo’s original tonkotsu broth served with thin wavy noodles, pork belly, and spring onions. The special spicy mined meat, miso paste and fragrant garlic oil, add kick to the senses.

*Prices
1. As is
2. With salted soft boiled egg
3. With simmered pork belly
4. With salted soft boiled egg, pork belly and seaweed

They got the hardness of the noodles just right – not undercooked nor mushy. Broth is hot, thick and flavorful. I liked how they had different bowl colors for each of their ramen flavors. My favorite is the Kakara ramen since I’m a bit biased to spicy dishes. But I think the miso broth is also very good.

Overall, it was a great experience. Even if it’s not the best ramen I’ve tried, it’s a great alternative.
